  1. Ah, ok. I misunderstood the tone of your post, nevermind. As what 42008 'should look like'.. I think a better cab design, like 8109's, would go a long way. I also dislike the uniform green colour, makes it look a bit drab and boring. I would definitely liven it up with off-colour striping/better stickers/something like that. I would also move the second pair of wheels forward, and shorten the midsection. Finally, I would either make the set wholly pneumatic or fully operated by actuators, not a mishmash of both. That might improve things somewhat in my perspective. We're getting a bit off-topic here though.
  2. Cool, keep us updated. I'm curious how they perform.
  3. Just checked Bricklink, doesn't look like you're going to get them much cheaper than 20 EUR a piece, even when buying sets.
  4. Very expensive, too. I wonder how it performs in heavy vehicles. Can't recall any MOC that uses it.
  5. What a completely unnecessary post. I'm not allowed to post my opinion? Get real.
  6. CUUSOO-worthy, imo. Though TLC won't build it due to the part count.
  7. Looks like a custom part. Nevermind, see allanp's reply below. Interesting, I had never seen it before.
  8. That's kind of silly, isn't it. 1H sets are always smaller, and the cargo plane is also coming.
  9. Bold = unread, or updated since last read. Not really a good topic for this forum.
  10. Beautiful! Looks just like the real thing.
  11. Maybe I should reserve judgment until we get better, high-res pictures. Now, where are the other models?!
  12. Yeah, I use those for storing Technic beams and Technic panels, found a webshop where I can order them cheap. I use smaller ones with more compartments for the other parts, those were on sale at Aldi a week ago.
  13. I'm not criticizing the functionality, I'm criticizing the looks. It just looks messy in my opinion, just like 42008. Oh well, to each their own
  14. I'm very curious how you will create the necessary contours for the 'worm'. Probably lots of soft axles and ribbed hoses (me gusta)?
  15. I use Stanley 1-92-762's, perfect for Lego.
  16. My thoughts exactly, wasn't a fan of 42008 either. Maybe a new designer who's still learning? Oh well, the blue parts are useful. I think it's yellow. Would be a weird colour scheme with orange, red and blue.
  17. Same here, I only have the 8109 on display for a couple of days while I'm building the Enzo, the rest of my models have all been dismantled.
  18. 8285 looks nice and is big, and you easily mod it to have extra functionality. I modded mine to be fully RC using an auto-valve. By the way, once again, I did list 9396 :-P I'll make it bold.
  19. The cargo plane seems to look similar to 9396. I think the skip truck is OK, but I won't buy it. Great to see PF becoming optional.
  20. I highly doubt that Lego would make this set unfortunately. First of all the part count is simply too high, and secondly it's far too difficult to build for non-AFOLs. Finally, like Alasdair mentioned, the gearbox is not 100% reliable, something Lego will not allow. They could redesign it, but I doubt they will put that much effort into it. It really needs specialized new parts to be 100% reliable.
  21. Yep, we did. I already own a copy though, don't see the point in buying another :) Already have plenty of yellow and red liftarms and panels. I'm looking forward to the 1h14 cargo plane peter_m mentioned, as I can use some blue/white parts.
  22. 9396 is already in my list, look closer ;-) I agree, it's a great set.
  23. Must-haves from last decade: 42009, 42006, 41999, 9396, 8110, 8069, 8043, 8109, 8258, 8275, 8285, 8421, 8455. Older: 8448, 8466, 8461. Classic: 8880, 8868, 8480, 8459.
  24. Love it! Clever use of the rubberband etc. I also love the way the rear wheels are lowered when the bed moves backwards, or were you referring to that? It's just really fun to build, and the various mechanisms are well thought out. Looks good too. I wonder who designed it?
