Racing Truck

Put some more weight on the back? -
Tough one, I love (and own) both. I'd say 8043 is more complex functionality-wise, and is overall a better parts package (though 8275 has 2! XL motors and also has 4 of the very rare pneumatic brackets). Playability-wise 8043 is also better, especially if you mod it into the Ultimate 8043 by Jurgen Krooshoop (highly recommended!).

Free Wheel and Flex Coupler

The design for the free-wheel/coupler/one-way clutch is a common one, have seen it used in several MOCs. -

This needs the metallic silver wheels from 8285 Looking forward to the building instructions -
8069 has good looks and a fun building experience, but the functionality is kinda lame as you need to turn lots of knobs to operate it. 42006 has good looks, good building experience, and, when motorized, is fun to play with. So my vote is for 42006.

My suggestion: get 8110 and 9398. This will yield you 1 x PF M, 2 x PF L, 1 x PF servo and a lot of useful parts, including pneumatics. Should be enough to get you started. Only get 42009 if you plan on building a lot of construction equipment.

I think it will come apart at the bottom if high torque is applied. -

D3K's MOCs

Maybe you should wait until you can use 42030's bucket for the Mk3, I think 8043/8265's bucket will look too small. -
You probably mean it's the successor of 8421 9398 might be EOL soon, so you could consider getting that now, and 42009 later.

Finished 8416 - another rather excellent midrange set. It's very enjoyable to build, it looks good (the cabin especially has some nice angles going on), and it functions well. I like the big crank in the back, beats the usual boring 20z bevel gear! It's also bigger than I expected, which is always a plus.
