Good luck :/ Regular bricks aren't meant to be bent at all and you'll have a hard time fitting an all 1x2's into a single baseplate. Have you tried hinged bricks? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3830c01 would probably look less ugly than click hinge but they don't lock into any position and you may have some difficulty in making a perfect round building. You can always suck it up and use 1x1 round with either 1x2 or 1x3 and make round building.

[Software] LDD Manager
Lego Otaku replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I kept running into minor issue when I try to export to BL wanted list, a couple element ID shows up invalid in BL. For example, I open LDD file that has Pneumatic T connector, new style it shows as part # 4696b but the part # does not exist in BL. The part # in BL is 4697b instead. Another example: part # 167 (bar 1x3, radio handle) should be 6190 I don't know if the error were caused by older LDD file or if there's mismatched number in LDD Manager database. The file I tried to export to wanted list were UCS MF set 10179, this one specifically: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41226&st=600&p=797007entry797007 If it's due to old LDD file, maybe a way to automate change in obsolete part # to current part #? -
This is via regular setting, not universe or anything. It seems LEGO is offering in addition to 3 shades of green and white, they also got yellow, black, and 3 trans-colors as well. I wish LEGO still had the buy option in LDD like they had in the past. LEGO has discontinued the option to buy creation from LDD, I guess not enough demand and too costly in the long run. I checked LEGO.com's PAB, only bright green leaves are available. So what's up with the new colors? And what other odd colored elements are available? Or is LEGO teasing us now that we can't import LDD file to buy creation?

If I were to compare to a typical store in malls, the door is about half the height of whats needed for minifig scale, and the space needs to be made longer. Maybe make it about 20 studs total with shelves on both sides. And defianttly better PAB wall, wouldn't want to disappoint little mini-kids with paltry selection of bricks.
-
This, and as I understand the base plates are not molded but rather a sheet of plastic that is formed on top of mold. This is why the back side looks 'incomplete' with no marking, no anti-studs, etc. It's also why the base plates are thinner than standard plates.

I have looked around but did not find any good information that explains how one could build an Omega ships with rotating section in the middle while keeping the front and back fixed and sturdy. Many of the Omega ships I've seen shows the section but none indicates if it actually rotates or if it's fixed. I would like to have the rotating section driven by a motor, maybe have a medium motor + IR control + battery in the section with battery on one side and the rest on other side to counter balance. Any idea how to do it? Here's a youtube video of a ship to give an idea how it looks:

I wasn't planning on going to LEGO store this month as I was saving for next month TC-14 promo. But I did tell my brother if he went, he should get some interesting stuff to take advantage of LEGO deal. He has my VIP detail BTW, he's not an AFOL but used to play LEGO when he was much younger and he sometimes pick up cheap LEGO at stores and such. He sent me a list after he went to Troy store and I put it through spreadsheet for the price detail: All for about $23 total (3 large cups)

Dang you got enough to build a replica of Falling Water set!

I hope it is OK to post bricklink store link but I need the money. Transmission blew on my car :/ http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=WILYKAT&itemID=32031922 Be sure to mention Eurobricks in the comment section and I'll knock $100 off the final price. The next cheapest seller of sealed 10179 is just a hair under $2,000 Shipping will be FedEx ground with insurance and as the set is very large and heavy, shipping outside contagious 48 states will be very expensive. You can see more pictures at and I can take more picture if needed.Paypal or US postal money order

Just wanted to give heads up. I imported this into LDD Manager to make part list for BL, and ran into a few issue. 1: you used a few 1x2 and 1x4 bricks with no tube (part #3065 and #3066). Those bricks are used only for transparent bricks, and this set doesn't use it. The offending bricks should be replaced with 3004 and 3010 respectively. #2: any reason for a few plates way off to the side? When yo first open the file, look to the right. I'm guessing you made them to copy and paste, and forgot to remove it? Using the newest version of LDD, I still can't bend the ship mast on the rear as shown in the manual. I guess it wasn't supposed to be bent at all.

$60, $55, $50, and $20... still leaves me a few dollars short for the 3rd one. :)

That is a great list. I could use LDD Manager and an LXF of Millenium Falcon to spit out a list (minus a few missing bricks due to illegal placement, I wonder what got lost), edit the list with alternate part number or color, and then print out the list. If you're going to LED mod the engine part, how about looking for plastic sheet that has ridges or something and use that instead of the boat mast? The spacing is too uneven on official LEGO version for LED to match the movie version.

I'm planning to run to LEGO store to get the chromed TC-14 May 4. Other than Millenium Falcon, I haven't Picked up any current Star Wars set over $15 So what should I get for around $250 so I can get at least 3 of the chrome droid? I'm more of OT fan than new trilogy or CW.

The ones I saw were around $2-$3 off regular price for most sets. Looks like 10% to me.

LDD 4.2.5 Bugs
Lego Otaku replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Making assembly instruction within LDD still stinks bad. I wanted to see how the new LEGO retail store set (LXF posted elsewhere in LDD forum) and there's quite a lot of floating bricks and direction that don't make sense. For example, below: Have you putting the ceiling light up before putting the roof panel down. Exected: put the light assembly on the roof first, then place the roof on the rest of the set. Later on in the instruction, LDD has the rest of the store's interior and tiled floor, with the 2 large base plates added in last. The base plates should have been very first step, not last. tl:dr LDD's building instruction stinks with weird steps, floating bricks, and other unusual method that would have been hard to do IRL -
I was thinking of getting 10221 Super Star Destroyer soon, maybe May 4th at LEGO store (if it's on sale and/or I have current 10% off coupon) and I wanted a few regular Star Destroyer around it like the asteroid field scene. I plugged in BL the parts needed to make to-scale Star Destroyer and got an average of about $3.50 to $4 per set. This did not factor in shipping. OTOH my 2 nearby Walmart had loads of 30056 which happened to be close to the exact same size and at $3.70 a pop (10% discount employee card) I got 36 of them. I did offer pizza and beer for my cousin for coming with me to get the discount :D :D

Thought of a new one while playing with my Android tablet. And this time I had the parts needed to make this one. The best I could make minifig scaled Android mascot are those. Thankfully lime are common color in LEGO pieces.

Ty!! And a great picture as well.

These are the fixes I've read in the past: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37468 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=28523 (about wheel alignment) There is probably another about PF motor design but I can't remember.

Series 5 minifigs $2 ea at Lapeer MI Walmart
Lego Otaku posted a topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Just a heads up Walmart store in Lapeer, MI has put series 5 on clearance sale for $2 each. There were 6 cases worth (all opened and mixed up). I did not pick up any as I am not interested in these but if you are interested or are reseller and you are in or near Lapeer, you should run there quickly. The clearance sale minifig were all in the garden center among other clearance sale toys, not with regular priced LEGO sets. -
As I understand, it is "never will be released." Monorail wasn't selling well at all and LEGO supposedly lost the mold for some of the monorail specific pieces so there won't be any more future monorail stuff. Since making new mold is expensive, LEGO was burned by poor sales in the past so they aren't going to remake mold at all.

Google search can turn up interesting finds if you just happened to phrase the words correctly. I wasn't looking for the unreleased parts but looking for creative MOCs and by accident I found out about Seatron themed monorail set. Underwater themed set: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Seatron_Monorail and don't say it is a MOC as you can't get that quarter dome in trans-red at all. Part of the track are blue but those could easily be painted. Patents for the unreleased Monorail track and parts: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/5087001.pdf I found it by accident long ago. The patent has long expired but no one wants to invest in making mold and make replica parts. The switch that are released are prone to failure from wear and from dirt build up. The replica switch (plus the unreleased switches) would be for playing with while the genuine official switches that are working fine can be kept in boxes for future generations.

I went to my local Walmart store, the same one that still have NXT 2.0 set on clearance sale for 96 cents off regular price (yes, still there!!! now with 1/4" thick dust layer) and they had a bunch of Harry Potter sets moved to clearance area. The burrows, Quidditch games, Freeing Dobby, and the Forbidden Forest with clearance sale tags on the shelf for $59.96, $19.96, $5.00, and $11.96 respectively. insert screwy emoticon 4736 is the only one that was marked down from original price. Only asinine employee(s) at Walmart would advertise the other 3 as clearance sale without marking them down at all. Not even 1 cent off at all. I did end up hauling away 46x 4736 because $5 each is a steal for the minifig alone. Grand total was $243.80 USD and BL has a part out value (6 months average sale) at a bit over $16 per box so if I sell em minifigs and few pieces I'd make nice profit.
