  1. Forget treebeard I want to see 2 towers built to minifig scale.
  2. This one shows another: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=3931 and I made it based on that: Image File: download Seems technic part makes for impossible builds
  3. Seller changed that auction, there is no reference to cloud city or 10123 anymore. Maybe eBay had a chat with the seller?
  4. Easier to come up with impossible to assemble than disassemble version but here's probably the smallest of the assembly that can't be taken apart without damaging the part. file: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lego-0taku/misc/impossible.lxf
  5. Yep lying seller. Leg print looks different and there's no arm print. If someone bought it based on the claim it's a remake of Cloud City and noticed there's no arm print or the leg looks wrong, the seller could get a neg for misleading description.
  6. Yep! Great shot. All that's missing is a speech bubble from Vader yelling "Hi yo Silver!"
  7. The tile is actually sticker over 2x2 white tile afaik but you can get a printed 2x2 tile off Bricklink. If you don't mind buying parts and making store yourself, you can use this: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lego-0taku/misc/lego_store_part_list.txt copy the XML, edit the wanted list ID to match your wanted list ID and then upload it to your BL and shop around for stores that has most of the parts. Be sure to look for printed 2x2 tile if you want to look accurate. The instruction, if you have LDD installed, can be created using this file: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41226&view=findpost&p=1247156 An easy build but the window seemed a bit harder to find than printed 2x2 tile.
  8. Good luck finding that 1x2 to 1x2 plate bracket. I checked LEGO's online PAB they only got 1x2 to 2x2 or 1x2 to 1x4, no 1x2 to 1x2 yet. Bricklink does not have it at all.
  9. Did you save some leftover plastic bit from the 3 leaf plants? They can be turned into vine by cutting it and stretching it straight. And since it's made by LEGO, puritan should have no problem with them.
  10. Stckers... booo...... Any STAMP or just one sticker per piece? STAMP (Sticker across multiple parts) is the worst thing LEGO can do. I like this set mainly for colors and for the fig but I'll wait for good deal first.
  11. Maybe it's the Three Ring?
  12. The order I placed late evening May 4th came in today. I got the poster and TC-14 minifig, the rest are backordered. SO it looks like some USA customers who ordered late evening (USA time) have a fair chance of actually getting one as someone mentioned not getting TC-14. Those who ordered May 5th may be out of luck
  13. Dang that's a very cool cross moc. It does look like a bat shaped ship and also familiar to SW fan as X-Wing fighter.
  14. For moc based on existing licensed sets (Star Wars), I'll use whatever face that fits the best. For non licensed generic theme, will do. I've had the classic style since I started LEGO in '78 or '79 and the other expression didn't come in use until much later.
  15. I also don't like destroying or altering existing LEGO element for custom use. I also avoid clone parts with few possible exceptions. Such as Tyco 2x2 stud to stud adapter which LEGO never made, and the custom made dark red, orange, yellow, brown, and tan 6x5 leave element as LEG only made them in white and 3 shades of green, making autumn scene harder. Custom stickers are OK, generally most will come off without damaging the brick.
  16. True multi-core CPU support so it can handle really large project without slowing down too much. Currently most decent computer start to slow down at over 15k part count because it has to calculate multiple connection points and with using only 1 core, it becomes a bottleneck. I'd love to see full Monorail parts so that 6990, 6991, and 6399 can be added to official sets done in LDD
  17. I just got this set so I'll do the review. 227 pieces, MSRP is $20 USD I think. Toys R Us charged $25 but still reasonable considering it is licensed set, has 3 minifigs, and the price per piece is close to $0.11 from Toys R Us. Contains just 4 bags and a wrinkled instruction book. First: NO STICKER!!! Gollum is kind of cute in an odd way. Sam and Frodo each gets their own sword. Sam also has a trans-clear diamond (held upside down to resemble a flask!) Both Sam and Frodo has printed torso on front and back, as well as 2 sided heads. Sam looks scared and Frodo looks zombie-fied after getting poisoned. First part done, a little cave with flipper to throw Gollum figure. Step 8, the thorax of the spider. There are a total of 8 black 1x4 hinge plates. 8 legs. Lots (24 total) of reddish-brown 2 finger click hinges here. The build was a bit tedious as all 8 are built the same. Printed head and mandible attached. The head and mandible can move a bit. One of the spider's eye is shut like an old injury. Part of the abdomen with the string and hook. The string can be wound up by turning the gear on the bottom. There are 2 parts in there that I hadn't seen before: grey 1x2 plate to 1x2 plate 90° bracket holding red and green plates. It's the smallest bracket aside from 1x1 to 1x1 for minifig neck. completed spider. Good for scaring your little sister  The abdomen can tilt and rotate, just like the real spider. The bottom of the spider, with the string winder visible. left over parts. There are 2 extra "One Ring", extra elven sword, etc. Give one of the ring to Gollum and the Hobbit duo could easily finish the mission without the annoying pest. The part list in the instruction. Overall the build is fun. It did have considerable amount of dark tan plates (7 or 8 including 2 wing pieces and a 1x6 tile), lots of reddish brown pieces, and significant amount of hinged plates and click plates. Cost: 9.5/10 Pieces: 10/10 accuracy: 9.5/10 (the hook did not exist in the movie) Fun factor: 10/10 no sticker: 10/10 If you're a fan of LotR movie or book series, this is a must get set!!! If you want the brown or dark tan pieces, this would be decent for part out set.
  18. The base of that turntable was used in official LEGO set before as decoration. So it should be allowed in LDD as well.
  19. I've seen those lites kit on eBay before but it doesn't look like it can be connected to NXT to sync the light sequence with the motor operation. It would look somewhat random with those lite kit and NXT running other stuff. Mindsensor did have something that will likely work, the magic wand.
  20. The front of the time machine looks odd. New parts? Looks like bicycle chain with LEGO studs.
  21. Many 1x1 round brick and plate does that. I've had single 1x1 round plate "connect" to the top lip of another 1x1 round plate, which can't be done in RL except in zero G Edited: removed image in quote I forgot not to quote images
  22. I wanted individual control so looks like Mindboards forum it is.
  23. I wanted to drive 7 or 8 LEDs from a single NXT block. But searching hasn't given me a good answer other than a $50 part: https://www.hitechnic.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=SPR2010 Is there an cheaper way to do this? That is cut off one of the cable and use the power, ground, and 2 motor control line to a multiplexer and use that? I have several electronic components that I can use. Also is there a forum that is better suited to getting the most out of NXT than this one?
  24. I recycle most of them. The large LEGo bag can hold a lot of empty plastic bag and when I go somewhere that takes bags, I leave them there. Always fun watching people gawk at the giant LEGO bag and wondering where they came from as Caro (MI) is 2 hours one way from nearest LEGO store. I do keep a few for holding various LEGO stuff. One just to store PAB cups for the next time I go raiding PAB wall. And also one bag just for my cat who loves to explore and play in anything like bags. Gotta make sure she doesn't stay in one too long though.
  25. Also if you're going to keep the scale accurate, almost 3,000 of 2x2 tiles would make a rather large space shuttle.
