  1. Still getting error. I tried the number and by name. It seems inconsistent to me. Wanted list that I named such as "minifig parts," "toys," and "forestmen" is giving error but another wanted list named "spare," "moc," "ruby night," and "vf01" is downloading OK. I tried changing name, and even switched both working and non working name, the non working want list is not downloading for some reason.
  2. I want this one feature implemented somehow. I was building a moc to test and to get estimated part count and BOM and I found it annoying that if I needed to make multiple copies of something I'd have to click the group, click copy, place, click group, click copy, etc. I could use copy and paste but the clipboard is limited to one. I would like a feature similar to "Repeat inserting selecting brick" with grouped bricks, or a clipboard that can hold more than one copied group of bricks.
  3. In USA I would have suggested 2n3904 as generic replacement as they are dirt common. 2n2222 is also common and also works as general NPN transistor. For Europe I think BC547 should work as well. I don't have the RC unit so I don't know if those transistor is good enough or if you need different type for higher current.
  4. I've had good luck getting some cheap Arduino clones off eBay. Arduino Mini is roughly the size of a gum pack so even with a few extra components like solid state relays for motors, IR receiver, and battery it is still a lot smaller than RCX.
  5. Toys R Us had a good sale on LEGO last week and I remember seeing SW Advent set was cheaper than usual. So it's no surprise that TRU is out or nearly out of any advent sets.
  6. Geez 111 entries... I hope I win something more than comment about my classic space ornament.
  7. Now I am getting wanted list not found error. Even those that worked a couple weeks ago is not working now.
  8. Olympic set didn't have number either so LEGO can easily release the movie set without number, then continue with 12 later in 2014
  9. A few days ago it was giving me unusual trouble. It was having a hard time finding sources for parts that isn't on my wanted list (like white technic axle, I don't have any technic axle in any of my list!) and another time it reported no source for a common part like 1x1 tile with computer pattern (I checked, over 100 sources for new and used)
  10. And a few disappointed submitter since there's licensing matter. Maybe one of them will get accepted, and maybe not. :/ The Japanese model seems most likely since it won't need licensing but it may be complex as it is.
  11. Try keeping the files in the same directory as the original LDD files? It worked for me when I ran into this problem after updating POV-Ray. I just need to remember to go back and delete temporary files after rendering is done. And 2 days? What are you using? On my computer most render is done in a few hours top. This one: took about 8 hours only because there were almost 150 transparent elements total to render. The train is based on Sava's North Pole Limited instruction he sells on Bricklink, and the minifig and fire on top is supposed to hint the movie the train is actually based on.
  12. While I was sorting out LEGO from a mixed tub I got at yard sale a few months ago, I noticed it had lots of pink and orange parts. At first I thought it was an early girls themed sets like Belville or Scala but it turns out to be from one of the 3 early Harry Potter sets http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4721-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4722-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=4723-1 So my question: what possessed LEGO to release these sets in eye melting orange and pink combination??? I have never seen those colors in the Sorcerer's Stone (or Philosopher's Stone outside USA) movie.
  13. I had this a few months ago but just got around to sorting them out. It was in a $5 bin (bin included, probably worth $5 at Walmart) and after tossing aside imitation transformers and playmobile I ended up with about 6 pounds of clean LEGO plus several instruction manual. Some manuals are for sets that weren't included so it may have been in another tub I didn't see or was already sold. What I got for sure are: (based on partial assembled sets and verifying against Bricklink inventory) 4721 Hogswart Classroom 4735 Slytherin 4706 Forbidden Corridor These 3 seems complete but I'd have to put together most of the partial assemblies to find out. The 3 headed Fluffy is included =) Also 5955 vehicle only, no minifig, dinosaurs, or other parts. I have the instruction for: 5955, 4792, 4606, 6520, and 4735 plus a 2001 catalog All for only $5
  14. You can pick up the complete 1978 series on DVD set. It might look dated compared to modern sci-fi shows but it was one of the first major sci-fi series to use high quality effect that didn't involve rubber suit, a 3" toy rocket with fire extinguisher for smoking tailpipe, and obvious paper mache ball resembling rocks, etc. like many of the early 70's sci-fi and older.
  15. I believe it's the really cheap camera such as those built in cell phones you get free with contract that has ugly distortion. Decent camera should have at minimum electronic image stabilizer which helps reduces the shaky video. Good camera have optical image stabilizer. Also tripod will help a lot, set the camera on the tripod and it stays still, no shaky video.
  16. Lose the baseplate and hang 4 of them as individual. Still a nice one!
  17. Just saw on the front page of cuusoo, it looks like set #006 was announced. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/6135
  18. I've looked around at various Meijer stores (midwestern USA chain) and nearly all of the polys are in the checkout lane, at the impulse buy board. I found a few Atlantis bag, a huge number of republic attack cruiser and a lot of new lawnmower. There were a few Chima in the LEGO isle but all of them were empty (pilfered, probably by little kids who don't understand rules) I rarely saw anything else in decent number other than Friends which I almost always find 10 of each kind easily. Once in a blue moon I do find Hobbit bags (always missplaced) but rarely as they are usually sold. Like other said, if you see a new one, get em fast because they do go fast and may be gone the next time you go looking for it.
  19. I've seen the original, and it was identical right down to the exact position of the hexagon patterns. It was pretty much a straight copy with edited background and no credit for the source artwork. It was changed the next day with hexagon pattern and some details removed so it didn't look like straight ripoff.
  20. That makes sense. The latter steps didn't show any pin connector for the leg part but the picture does show the pin and half ball connector that connected to another half ball and 2x2 brick inside the legs.
  21. I've looked ahead and yes it can fit if rotated 90 degree but the connector doesn't connect to anything at all. I'm thinking the 2 round end were meant to show like decoration or something and someone messed up in ldraw causing them to be oriented the wrong way.
  22. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=182077 Opened the file vf01.mpd using LPub to get building instruction. On page 135 there is something that doesn't make sense to me. It looks like 2x 48169 is merged in one spot? Even when I tried 48172 a similar piece with 2 connectors, it still won't fit because of stud collision below and a blue brick. I opened the same file in SR 3D builder and isolated the exact area, it also looks illegal and served no purpose to me. Any idea what the original author is trying to do in that step?
  23. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lego-0taku/ldd/bug_check_000.lxf pins 4274 (grey) will not go in center hole 32184 (black), it seems to be colliding with a plate above yet it works fine IRL. I have tried with many other pins that snaps in place, none of them fits either. I think the part 32184 is a bit off spec.
  24. One feature I'd love to see implemented somehow: the ability to auto rotate gears and connected axles when you are assembling gear box. I am tired of having to manually rotate every other axles when I add gears and teeth won't mesh. It should be fairly easy if it only checks the last placed axle or pin as it's likely to be unconnected to anything else to rotate when adding a gear to it.
