  1. They are not quite exactly the same. Slightly different offset hole for link connection and different thickness.
  2. You might want to edit out the email address, a spam bot can sniff it out and add you to bazillion spam lists.
  3. Posted a public nag on his picture pointing out how the blue hexagon pattern looked exactly the same and told him to give credit. If people sees the nag and rant, some people may stop visiting his photostream.
  4. I tried using brickstore but I think it's broken as it hasn't been supported for a while, when I tried to load up a nearly 3,000 piece project it only loaded a few then stopped so the want list is very incomplete. Is there something that works currently and can take a .mpd file and spit out a complete list, preferably in Brickstore ready XML?
  5. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lego-0taku/ldd/ornament_contest.lxf someone asked about how I connected the shuttle to the orb. I haven't done any tinkering since I made the last revised version for the picture so I still can't tell if it'd hold up or not. I couldn't place a 1x2 technic brick on the back because there's a 1/2mm variance that LDD doesn't like when in reality it'd fit just fine.
  6. Sounds like that lawyer should get in touch with LEGO and make them explain why a non LEGO shirt got pulled. It is also possible to sue LEGO in USA for defamation of character by claiming his shirt infringed the copyright. Personally I'd settle for answer and apology, and to relist the shirt making sure there is no mention of LEGO anywhere.
  7. I often start with LDD to see if something can be done and how, export it to want list using LDD Manager, buy what I don;t have, then I try to make the real one. So it's both if I like how LDD came out.
  8. Ditto. I've spent a lot of time changing angle and all trying to get one measly part on *top* and not below. LDD should consider line of sight and assume only on top based on current viewing angle and not try to ram it deep inside or on the bottom.
  9. Why not? The moon can be used as the ornament itself. The only issue would be that the trail doesn't fall off in reality or that the shuttle end makes it too heavy and flip the ornament side way. If I get the parts to make this, I'd have to experiment on stability and getting optimal center of gravity. 265 pieces total, about 175g (6 and 1/8 oz), all legal color and available at reasonable price, no hack, mod or glue needed. This ornament should be ok on real tree if I use the thicker branch and not near the tip.(edit: slight revision, 6g less and shuttle a bit more in scale)
  10. Picture shows engine and tender only, no passenger car? I've seen them go around $75 to $100 used and complete in auction and more with BIN. Passenger cars are highly desired because it looks better with 1 engine and 3 passenger cars than 3 engines.
  11. nm need new glasses
  12. But if you do that, the lamp post would be crooked as it'd be perpendicular to the spot on the curved section. LEGO has released only 1 piece with fixed angled stud and it's a huge piece, like it's intended for roof support. Maybe replace one of the 1x2 brick with a technic that has a + hole, a 2L technic axle, and 1 angled connector?
  13. Not my model but I think it's worth looking into: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/45109 If you're a fan of Goonies, this is defiantly a good one to try and get LEGO to release officially. It gained over 3k votes in just a few months.
  14. mast rigging might be correct term but I haven't seen anyone confirm if it's the right one for MF and how many.
  15. Home depot has this that seems great for sorting and storing lots of small pieces like technic pins and 1x1 plates but they are about $130 each. Anyone know of a similar storage system that isn't made of metal, readily available in USA, and costs a lot less?
  16. Maybe they misunderstood what you meant by misprint and sent you the same old misprinted piece? Someone needs to go there and remind them about i before e except after c.
  17. Not really, transistors can reduce those wire count and make the max output arduino can handle a moot point.
  18. Simple design and very cool!!! If I was going to do something like this, I would have used arduino. I can make more elaborate lighting squence trick such as separate LEDs on top and on center pillar rather than having only 1 set lighting in the whole setup. arduino isn't too hard once you understand the basics. an arduino nano is somewhat similar in size to both 555 and 4017 combined.
  19. 1900's vintage lego? They must be wood bricks then ;)
  20. afaik they were running out of unused 4 digit numbers so they started using 5 digits. They are still doing mostly chunk reserved for castle, chunk reserved for sci-fi, chunk reserved for town and city, etc.
  21. I have not submitted anything to cuusoo so I don't know if this is permitted but if basic HTML is allowed, the add target="_new" inside the a href tag. It will force new window when user clicks on the link. <a href="http://www.yourimage.../yourimagelink" target="_new">name of link</a>
  22. That is strange. Neither looks like they had anything to do with LEGO and it's a violation of LEGO rights??? I'd like to see LEGO explain this one.
  23. They may be expensive but if you get the set and can sell all 6 masts pieces for over $100 a piece, the remaining 2000+ piece set ends up well under $200 final price. I mentioned this in SW forum last week. But someone needs to get this set first, do a detailed part list first then we'd see if they are really the rare pieces or if they are different sized and not as valuable.
  24. Of the IR receiver? V2 is stamped below the channel switch, as seen in the picture: http://powerfunctions.lego.com/en-us/ElementSpecs/8884.aspx
  25. Ouch would have been much cheaper to buy one off bricklink! Glad I don't like in France but thanks for heads up warning to anyone who lives in France and possibly other European countries.
