Wow, Hoexbroe. What a layout. Thank you for sharing this with us. I hope you had a great day at the event and how did people react when they saw your work? You realy did a great job there. The Greyhound bus and gasstation are my favourites, but the Batmobiel is great to. Are you planing an extension to this, or something completely new? Hope to see more of your work in the NEAR future my friend.

I think we are missing a point here, and that is the time we are living in compared with the past. In yesteryears things were easier in compagnies like TLG. Designers had more freedom than they have these days. TLG is big business with a lot of shareholder who want only one thing, getting more money on there investments. That means making more profit with less costs. Creating (more) new sets costs money on development and on production costs (more diferent bricks or colours to produce). So it's easier to produce sets that will sell always and produce every now and then an different kind of set. There is an other point though. TLG produces these days more brands, just think of Friends, Starwars, Ninjago, Lord of the Rings,...... the list goes on. In yesteryears the catalogue was rather thinner then these days, so City is not all that important anymore, sad for us here, but it's a fact. Thinking of quality, i must say that that has improved very much. I am 56 and have bought Lego of and on for most of my life. I started at six with the showroom set of Lego System and am now crazy about the modulars and MOC's . There was a time in the late 90's and early 00's that the sets were realy ugly (opinions can differ). Cars with printed headlights and those ugly big bricks. These days things are looking up. See the new sets for 2013 and we see a lovely tankertruck, flatbed and cementmixer. More details and not made in a few seconds. No, i don't think Lego designers lak inspiration these days, i think they are being pushed to produce sets that sells, sells, sells.

Wow! I am impressed. Saw your palace in de Town forum. Both are stunning, but my favourite is this station. So very realistic and the colours..... The train in front of the station is great too, is it yours?

Beachfront Hotel (built by my little brother)
The Dutch Guy replied to soccerkid6's topic in LEGO Town
Well, that's one talented boy there. I love the hotel and all the little details in it. The bathroom is very skillfully made. Great choise of colours too. Love the whole thing. Let the little man brick on please, so we can see his creations in the future. -
That is the second excelent truck there Anio i have seen from your hand. You seem to have the skills for these kind of builds, so keep them coming. We love them.

A very beautiful truck Anio. Very detailed and very close to an original truck. Good work and brick on.

By all means. I love these contests. They bring out the best in us en deliver us the most wonderfull MOC's. Never mind the price that is attached, just for the fun, or the competition.

I think it's heartwarming to see how all of you dislike the fool who put someone down on his grammar. We all speak one language, Lego. As long as we understand each other, by our words or builds. And your build look great to me. Brick on my friend

You don't have to apologize, because i think this is one of the most beautiful locomotives i have seen. So much details and you can recognice the original locomotieve at one glance. Love your work. -
MOC: Engine Workshed & Signal House
The Dutch Guy replied to michaelozzie's topic in LEGO Train Tech
What a lovely set up. The shed is awsome, as is the signalbox. With the small diesel, it has the looks of a rural industrial line. Great work. -
What a lovely display there. Very lovely with all the pinetrees. I also did not know about these "painted" trees. Very nice discovery.
-
Very well done. It is a very loevely little garage with a lot of details. It is nice to see someone trying to move an original model a little further. Great job there, i love it.

Great review. Thank you for that. As soon as i saw the anouncement for this new set, i knew i had to have two of these, to make one trainset. Being European, where there are more passenger- than Freighttrains, i most definitely like this set more than the Mearsk train. The way the containers were stacked on the cars (2 on the first and 1 on the second car) always bugged me. The way the pantographs are build is great, maybe i use that idea on my other electric trains as well. Loved readingyour review

LDD MOC: 0-4-0 Tank & Tender Locomotives
The Dutch Guy replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The locomotive looks excelent, the tender looks beter too, but i think it would be better to make it an open tender at the locomotive cabine,. Hard to shovel coal like that. -
Lovely, very lovely. Very winter nice scene. The lights are great.
-
A lovely project there Snaillad. The interiors are great. I love the Barbershop and if you don;t mind, i like to borrow the idea for a future house of mine. The extreior looks simple, but i am sure they are not. The SNOT street is supperb, as is the van. My compliments on the on.
-
Looks good. Can't wait to see it in bricks, with an interior.
-
I love the Firetruck EROL. I think this one would be a better one for the FireDepartment than the oficial one. I thing that on is to wide. It dwarfs the other vehicles in my town. You show great skills in building vehicles. My compiments.
