  1. I'm loving this CMF wave so much, Storm and Agatha are the standouts for me... I need to go and get doubles. I was pleasantly surprised about Goliath, his printing is a lot better in person with the metallic silver, and I love getting extra Ant-Mans to put on random Marvel sets like a where's Waldo kind of thing. I'm also surprised how much I love both Moon Knight figs, found the D+ show to be a snooze fest and had no interest, but the minifigs are so well done, might give Moon Knight another shot. I'm still warming up to Wolverine, my biggest problem is the print limitation on the legs where it cuts off near the waist limiting posability. Overall I don't think CMF Wolvie is a definitive upgrade from the recent Wolverine mech fig and I wish we had gotten a detailed Jean Grey and Cyclops instead of Beast and another Wolverine. As a minifig Echo is better than Monica Rambeau, but like Monica she's my least favourite of the wave.
  2. I'm just amazed how well designed the Marvel CMFs are but somehow the actual Marvel sets are beyond bad.
  3. Secret Invasion show made me hate the Skrulls. I actually enjoyed Captain Marvel and thought it was a bit above average for an MCU movie, but SI has been so boring. I want this Skrull nonsense over and done with. Hope we get some dedicated Loki S02 sets.
  4. Nope, I consider it bad faith because it is, and it's the go-to excuse for detractors of PPP to use. It's bad faith because I've already specifically highlighted that outliers such as DOTs exists and that no reasonable person would apply PPP as a measurement in these fringe cases. The key word is reasonable.
  5. @danth has repeatedly hit the nail on the head, while @MAB, has take an anti-consumer approach and debating in bad faith. I didn't think there was a need to define OUTLIER, but here am I reading bad faith arguments on DOT sets. Ultimately, PPP and subjective personal tastes have equal weight in value assessment, however, if PPP was adopted again as an important part of the purchasing decision, I can guarantee Lego would be more hesitant to release extreme profit taking sets with CAD$0.3 PPP, i.e. the Hoopty. Reverence to PPP only helps every Lego consumer.
  6. Not in CAD, $0.10 used to be the norm and I presume USD and EUR would've even had better price ratio.
  7. Have you considered quality hobby paints or even a silver sharpie which is used in a lot of Gundam detailing would probably be even easier and faster than painting.
  8. Price per Piece is the best the value indicator we the consumers have. In the absence of confidential information, such as, production costs, licensing costs, mandated margins, profiteering and price gouging factors. We the consumers should continue to uphold the $0.10/piece rule of thumb, unless you want to bring a scale with you every time you want to buy a set. Yes, there will be some outliers to the $0.10 per piece ratio, i.e. art sets or dots, but those sets are easily identifiable and no reasonable person would apply the rule of thumb. On the average sets will have both large and small pieces. Detractors of the $0.10/piece have only harmed themselves and help make Lego price gouging an acceptable practice.
  9. RIP Spiderman 2099 and anyone else that's in Into the Spiderverse
  10. Oof then in that case I think the policy on unaccompanied adults is a good one.
  11. I don't have the sales figures to substantiate, but the general sentiment/hype on Reddit and here... pretty much immediately died the day of release. It doesn't help that the value proposition is super inflated, you're not getting the Ninjago discount, but are paying upfront premiums to Lego in order for them to recoup some of the production costs of the show. That said, if the Gator-mobile ever goes on a deep enough discount, I'll pick it up... the other sets I could care less, the design is lacking imo.
  12. I won't be buying due to the high price, but with all junk we've been getting i.e. buildable figures, mechs, etc... this ship actually looks good to me haha. The Lego Marvel bar has been set so low.
  13. Yeah wouldn't exactly call that a full wave... instead of another generic Age of Ultron Captain America + Black Widow bike chase... we should've gotten a Post Apocalyptic BW + Hawkeye bike from that episode where Hawkeye dies. It would've achieved the same product goals while also giving consumers something new.
  14. What If had so many epic villains, literally Omega lvl threats and arguably the strongest villains in the entire Marvel Universe in Ultimate Ultron, Sinister Strange and Zombie Wanda... but nope we get Goliath. What If deserves its own dedicated theme or at least a full wave.
  15. What exactly is a Lego Discovery Center? Guessing it's not the same thing as Lego Land which is a themepark.
  16. Dreamz is an already dead theme.
  17. Seems worse than CMF series 1. Also I'm not seeing alot of unique/new molds either. CmF series 1 had a ton of big parts that made it amazing value, I.e. Falcon's wings, Spidey's rope piece, Wanda's headpiece, etc.
  18. R rating aside, it would've been extremely unlikely Lego would've been able to push out Deadpool sets in a timely manner anyways. We have no Spiderverse sets, effectively no Antman sets, no Secret Invasion sets, NWH took how many years for a pretty average set? Instead we will get mechs, buildable figures, and random objects... hopefully we're running out of iconic Marvel objects and Lego will be forced to try something else.
  19. TBH the blame is less on the designers and more on the Lego product managers and unit head for the consistent poor quality of set design. The Lego designers which fulfill the role of design/engineering/development should be empowered to speak up and advocate for a quality product. A good product owner/manager knows how to manage upwards.
  20. Lol generally in this order: Marvel, Ninjago, Starwars. That said, I'm extremely picky as space is a limiting factor... I've cut back entirely on Starwars but I am looking forward to the upcoming Ghost. You know my thoughts on Marvel , despite being my fave theme I find the vast majority of sets to be poorly designed. Ninjago is the most consistent theme in terms of good design and value year after year, but I do think that Ninjago has not been able to meet the high design standard set forth in the Ninjago Movie. Some sets come close, but overall lack the quality and creativity.
  21. Personally, I haven't found a single Ideas set that I've liked enough to buy. https://brickset.com/sets/page-1?query=Ideas
  22. “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”... Lol in that case I wouldn't trust the Bugle designer with a ten foot pole, there needs to be some redemption in design quality. Sad to see the person who designed the Benatar, also churned out the low quality Bowie 🤮. The sets feel like they were designed by a completely different person.
  23. There needs to be a change in leadership for the Marvel team. Promote the guy who did the Bugle or Benatar and give him creative control over the product line. The current guy has lost all touch on what makes quality products that Marvel fans are actually looking for. It feels like a random fluke when there actually is a decent set (last good set was Sanctum) in an ocean of absolute garbage of cheap mechs, buildable figures and overpriced sets like the Hulkbuster, BP bust, helmets/gloves/shields that offer no value.
  24. Avengers Endgame Battle is more interesting than the NWH set imo. If I didn't already have Thanos I would probably pick it up on sale. NWH is just disappointing.
  25. My take get a real one, orchids are low maintenance and easy to take care of.
