  1. I didn't use all of those, approximately 3.000 left in the bag. However I had quite a few of them already at home, so I assume in total it's about 10.000 trans-light blue diamonds for the water. Thanks for the very nice comments to all of you guys! :-)
  2. An open letter, printed in a newspaper (ok, rather a one-pager coming out every week) published in Nova Terreli: To the leadership of the RNTC, and to all those who listen, I hold one preferred stock of the RNTC. My reason for buying was quite linear: It felt like in the riches of the new world, opportunities for investment were the rarest ressource, and time for further personal ventures has always been limited. Funding the RNTC efforts felt like a great opportunity to increase my family's assets in the long run. There was no deeper calculation behind the investment. When I bought the shares the conditions as well as the obligations of the RNTC were clear, as was the risk. As a businessman I know that other good businessmen - just like myself - will not let minor political turmoils impact an economic relationship at all. And again I can only stress that I and all other investors were aware of all risks that might or might not occur in the future. While I highly support transparency for joint ventures, I insist that a one-time-investment does not give anyone the right to ask for justification for every act the institution that he or she has invested in performs, or for every move or direction they take. That would make the subjected of investment as rigid as the bureaucracy of a nation and thus condemn it to failure. Investments do go beyond national borders, go beyond politics. Whether or not the RNTC has decided to cut a deal with Mardier will surely be disclosed in a timely fashion at the quarterly report. That is all I can and will ask for. Every shareholder may decide at any point for him or herself to sell their shares in the RNTC, if they are dissatisfied with the actions or the amount of transparency given by the RNTC leaders. You all know where to find me. And you all know I will be glad to invest. Juan Alfonso Fontonajo, mayor of Nova Terreli
  3. For a class-0-ship with speed 0: Does that mean it can visit 2 ports in a traderun? Or does it mean that it can visit 0 ports in a traderun?
  4. Fantastic atmosphere on this deck, wow. Just feels so much like a busy tradeship. Quite impressive.
  5. A classical Capt Wolf ship, really nice work and another great addition (those sails man!) to the Eslandolan (look at the sails!) fleet.
  6. I love the classical Lego appearance of this ship, fantastic!
  7. I recommend to add bricks behind the windows. Yellow/orange in case there is light, black or dark grey if there isn't. Or yellow/red/blue/green curtains with sloped bricks, and a color behind those. The rest of the build is very clean and well-executed, looking good! The minifigs and their posing stands out to me, great work. I like the door-technique as well.
  8. Yeah, I realised that as well. But in Germany it is currently February 1st, 9:25 am, and it was around 9:00 when I did my transactions. I assumed it was February in the game as well.................. "Anywhere in the world" is about the weirdest deadline there can be...
  9. A messenger knocked at the door of the "Weelond Investment and Financial Exchange". When Willem Guilder, who just took a break from the Council sessions, opened the doors, a well-clad messenger from Fontonajo stood there, carrying a large bag. A really large and heavy bag. And three more on a cart next to him. He handed over the bags to Guilder's assistants, along with a small message. It is always a pleasure to make business with you, Senor Guilder. JAF
  10. @Legostone: Sorry! Both me and Nova Terreli have paid now.
  11. That is lovely. The river kind of lacks - I think you should have turned the plates by 90° so that they lie with the flow of the river - but the peppercorn, the palmtrees, the dense vegetation, the workers and especially those small paths right in the green are just superbly amazing! Wonderful! Gimme more of that peppercorn!
  12. October November December January 617 AE Cotton Island | Elostirion | Eslandola Lion Hall | Elostirion | Eslandola Note for myself: Will probably license this as well.
  13. Montario, on the island of Nellisa. Home of the rich and important on Nellisa, centre of education, art and culture in the Eslandolan Colonies. Home to the Lion Hall, an assembly hall for the Colonial Council of Eslandola. The estate is protected by a small gatehouse, from which a driveway climbs the small hill, ending in a circle around a fountain in front of the stairs to the gates of the Council Hall. The hall itself shows architectural intricacies, most iconic of all the lionheads engraved into the wall, giving the hall its name. The roof is shaped in the typical Montario-style. A golden ridge crowns the roof, and green and yellow flags wave in the wind, displaying the pride of Eslandola. A broad stair leads up towards the gates, flanked by two statues: The Warrior and The Explorer, both in golden colour, displaying what has made Eslandola great in the colonies: Fortitude, Exploration and Mercantilism. The large windows make sure the Council Hall is flooded with light, for long council sessions. The large Lion Hall provides space for all potential 25 members of the Colonial Council, arranged in rows of three each, with a small podium for the Admius Legistrad, leading the sessions. The gatehouse is always guarded by two guards from "The Eagles of Nellisa", one of Román Fontonajo's private troops. At the end of the driveway a small fountain adds some motion to the silent estate. A small look ahead in time, towards the evening before the first session of the Colonial Council on Nellisa: Román Esteban Fontonajo, build-owner of the Lion Hall, and current Admius Legistrad, has just finished some work in preparations for tomorrow's session and is enjoying a rare sip of fine Oleander red wine, while outside his loyal bodyguard Betito watches the entrance, and a carriage stands ready and waiting. ... General Samu from the Prio Seas: "We must not relent enforcing our naval and armed forces! War is always at hand!" Farrucio Paraja from MAESTRO: "I fully agree, as you know, but as I have stated numerous time: Quality before quantity. We must cease to build ships of lesser excellence." ... ... Aaron van der Meede: "I cannot, and will not, change my opinion on this matter, dear Senor Fontonajo, with all the appropriate respect towards your well thought-out arguments." Raphael Fontonajo: "At some point, young man, at some point in the future you will realise. There is more to being right than the exact wording of the law." George da Pontelli just made a quick gesture, throwing his banana away. Aaron van der Meede: "So true, George, so very true indeed..." ... Will be licensed as "Royal Art & Culture" in Montario on Nellisa. Studcount ~12.000. More pictures can be found in the flickr album. If you want to see a close-up of something else please just let me know. Finally This one is for you @Capt Wolf
  14. Joaquin Seramon Fontonajo, Román's son, took the word: "This morning I have been noticed that construction in Montario has finished. On behalf of the Fontonajo family and the people of Nellisa, I invite you all to be our guests in the Lion Hall in Montario, and have some council sessions on Nellisa, before we return to this beautiful lecture hall in Weelond. One of the fastest ships, providing all comforts you can expect, awaits us at the docks. When we arrive at Nova Terreli you will have the best accomodation for a few days, to take care of your business, before some of the finest carriages bring us to Montario, where we will return to deciding about the future of Eslandola once more. For those of you who have never been to Nellisa - look forward to experience the beauties of the island. And those who return will most likely jubilate as much as I do at the prospect of seeing Nellisa again!" 'And seeing my fiancee again', he thought. So far noone knew what was about to come, except his grandmother, who helped Poca out. But they wouldn't be able to keep it secret for much longer. Little did Poca understand his reasoning, but she had trusted him. She always had.
  15. Collect them, cage the, bring them to the safety of Corrington's towns, and put them in a bigger cage their. Or maybe just bring them to another island so they can live on (after images of them have been drawn, of course).
  16. A little to the northwest of Salida Este on Ferro Azure lies a small island. Geographically it belongs to Ferro Azure, and the island is not really worth mentioning. Below that island lies an even smaller island, which they call the “Cotton Island”. That tiny island is owned by no other than the Fontonajo family, who made the once jungle-covered island arable and are growing and selling their cotton, solidifying the MCTC monopoly on that resource. Some patches of jungle still show what the island once looked like. In the middle of the island a small creek springs. The spring supplies the whole island through an irrigation system that Fontonajo’s men have developed. Cotton is a thirsty plant. Many workers irrigate and harvest the cotton, storing it in big boxes at the wooden warehouse on the beach. Some workers are currently removing the last parts of jungle on the eastern coast of the island, to enlarge the arable land, so even more cotton can be planted. When Don Isaac Montoya heard of the plans to destroy even more of the beautiful and original vegetation of the island, he feared for the further existence of plants and animals that might else be unknown to the world. Fontonajo granted permission to members of the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy to come to the island and preserve the wildlife. James Firming from Corrington, a well-known butterfly-catcher in the colonies, is currently hunting some of the beautiful butterflies on the “Cotton Island”. Marko big behind is the Custodian of the island, though he prefers to call himself Harbourmaster. Right now he is greeting Alvaro Bastici, owner of a textile factory in Salida Este, a regular visitor to the “Cotton Island”. Bastici usually visits the island on his small sloop to manually select the best cotton for his factory. On the northwestern shore, which the workers call the “Long Coconut Beach”, some coconut palms still stand, and sure profit can be made from harvesting and selling those as well. Marcho, a tanned guy with curly hair, who surely has some ancestors from more southern lands than Eslandola, is a trained palmtree-climber. On the northern edge stands a small watchtower to guard the island from intruders. Or at least spot them. Sure, if a real raid from Mardier was to come, the one guard most likely would not stand a chance, but if some lousy buccaneers were to come by, the people on the island know how to defend their cotton. Will license this as a "Royal Plantation". Studcount: 158x118 = 18.664 > 16.384 = 128x128. Some more pictures can be found in this flickr album. If you want to see a close-up of something else, just let me know.
  17. The framed version is fantastic and deserves to be part of our Eslandolan thread or at least of the Council starting thread if you ask me. :-)
  18. Dear Master Guilder, as you might know I have recently taken over the lead of all Fontonajo business affairs, with my father stepping into politics. To go through with my huge plans I will need some additional funding for a few days. I hereby ask the Weelond Investment and Financial Exchange to help the Fontonajo family with 750 Dubloons. On February 2nd, or earlier, we will pay 800 Dubloons back. Please let me know whether you will take my offer, and if so, please transfer the money to our Fontonajo accounts. Sincerest regards Juan Alfonso Fontonajo EDIT: @Capt Wolf to ensure you see it :-)
  19. Light Carrier 26 for Nova Terreli.
  20. Isn't there a paragraph about upgrading forts in the rules? So a small could be upgraded to medium by e.g. adding a watchtower or sth. if I understand correctly.
  21. Fontonajo looked around. Most members of the council were awkwardly silent those days. Maybe they just needed some more time to warm up? Or another location? Hard to say... He looked around, not fixating a specific councilmember, when he continued to talk: "In my campaigns I talked about the Colonial Knowledge Mission which we all have here. Well, I have done my part. My scribes have done their work and set up some papers, ready for you to fill in. We have also gathered all available information about natural ressources like gold, silver or iron from the recording of the Fontonajo Mining Ventures. Those sheets will be handed to you in a minute. I really hope for your intensive contributions!". Fontonajo gave them a while to take a closer look at the documents. It had been some tough work, but he was almost certain that it would pay off. Information is the foundation of knowledge, and knowledge is the foundation of power. Well, a bit overblown, maybe, yet still it might help fill Eslandolan coffers further. Now to emptying coffers... "As you all know our constitution defines salaries for all members of our glorious Colonial Council. How will we handle the payments? Is there any voluntary who is willing to take upon himself this task for the next four months? Or do you naturally consider this a task of the Admius Legistrad as head of this Council? And also: Do you agree that we should aim for a payment between the 25th and the 29th of a month, for that very month?"
  22. You didn't miss anything, and sure you may ask. Whether I will be able to disclose it this weekend, though, may or may not depend on some Bricklink orders arriving in time. :-)
  23. Well.... Maybe that killed it? :-D
