  1. Placeholder amount, most likely. Umarak's legs only contain about 38-40 pieces, highly doubt he's 172 pieces.
  2. 2016 has a blend of CCBS and Technic, though. I wouldn't necessarily call it as bad as the 'later years', but I can understand where the concern comes from. And since you've brought up MoCing, that's one of the larger problems I've had, personally, with CCBS. I understand it's easier to create a basic figure with just a standard design(like many of the CCBS HF sets), but some key components of CCBS are fairly rarely used in sets(double socket bones, armor additions, etc.), and when they are included i would say they're scarce, thus harder to find a decent supply of to someone like me who gets parts from buying duplicate sets and who likes adding detail and more customized builds. Which is why I'm all for these new shells, they blend nicely with CCBS, in my opinion. I was even fine with the littlest amount of detail they added this year, what mattered to me was that it 'feels' like Bionicle and not HF in that it has more complexity and unique builds. But it's all personal opinions, nobody's the same. *just made this semi-off-topic but whatever* And you don't like the darth vader set? Irony. :P
  3. Finally, some news on those graphic novels. Can't say I'm too interested in the chapter books, but these graphic novels have had my interest for a long while, seeing as how the comics in G1 were my biggest source of story info(crappy internet way back when *nostalgia tears*).
  4. The amount that people complain about the aesthetics of G1 always makes me think, "Then why did they like it?". And it wasn't just "the early years" either, every year of G1 Bio had these aesthetics, practical or not. Or the argument that it carried over from Slizers. They had 8 and a half years to change it and they didn't. If you don't like the sets, then *gasp* Don't Buy Them 0.0, TLG doesn't cater to a select group. They try what they think makes the dough, whether it bakes properly is up to the target consumer.
  5. Actually, it does attach to a CCBS limb because it's attached, no?
  6. If it is a full on TV show on Netflix I'd think it be less about promoting the sets and more to make a profit of itself, right? Probably not, I don't know, but where would it start the story off? Simply recap a whole year that wasn't shown to an audience and start with 2016, or go through 2015 in a few episodes or so?
  7. *cough*deleted booster pack*cough*.
  8. Speaking of the MoCo, if we have the mask in the first wave what is Umarak's Destroyer form going to wear? A recolored MoCo? I doubt it will be the MoUP.
  9. No. These sets weren't designed in the last two months, you know. These were probably already in a design phase when the first 2015 wave was just released, maybe even earlier. 2015 hasn't affected these sets in any way other then a continuation in story.
  10. Uh, Umarak has teeth on his chest. Looks like fangs, too.
  11. So? Could be story related. Sure, maybe that doesn't mix well with 2015, on that note, but maybe the designers are going for the G1 look of semi-unfinished cyborgs. And it adds detail because personally, and I love CCBS, but just shells and bones in a generic figure don't necessarily cut the steak for me. Something the 2015 gearbox and armor add-ons eliminated was the fairly bland look of the standard '2.0 build', IMO. Nobody wants a system set that only comprises of 2x2, 3x2, and 4x2 bricks, do they? That's what I saw 'primarily' in the 'majority' of HF sets.
  12. Hm, I fear there will be no day of universal appraise for Bionicle by all communities. Personally, I am loving the way the sets are looking next year. And I'm loving the sets this year. It's Bionicle, just be happy for it(unlessItLooksLike2.0HeroBuildsYesI'mAHypocrite). And what's wrong with more complex builds? More bang fo' my buck(dollars not deer, stop glaring at me, Umarak.) The creatures are all fairly nice, and from what I've seen on the Tahu pic they have a nicer integration with the Toa Uniters. Although Kopaka's seems kind of a mess proportion wise, but still a nice use of Melum. Glad to see, from what I see, that the standard Kopaka has captured my love for him once more with the less bulky-armored-coat appearance. Also, new $/€30 box. Umarak, very ironic how animal like he/she is since he's/she's the 'Hunter'. Swivel function would be great with the bow to use as a melee weapon. Though it appears he/she might have a Skull Villain blade as a secondary weapon.
  13. So what does everyone think of Umarak's backround? Think it will be any significance to the story? Maybe it's Umarak's hunting grounds where he keeps the MoCo. Box background I mean. Also, just noticed the swinging axes/blades on it.
  14. So how about that Netflix Bionicle? Also, not sure if pointed out but the new torso looks to be a new torso and chestplate. Pohatu's torso looks to be silver/gunmetal while his chest is brown. And the chest has piston aesthetics as well as the torso, Kopaka legs/creature torsos, and "flame-add on".
  15. Does Ikir's wings use the Metru Nui matoran arm in them? Probably just the single ball joint with two axles. But how did they use the Skrall armor this year? I thought the old molds were scrapped. Or did they keep the 2010 ones?
  16. Wait, Onua's hammer, black and purple- Onua has been Makuta all along! Onua is the mole, not Terak!
  17. Oh my Onua, that hammer is huge. Overall looks bulkier then we might have expected. And Tahu, that mask is nice, very nice. A lot of gold but Tahu will always be my boy <3. And CoE is a mole!
  18. Looks like Inika Kongu's mask to me. Also, curious whether those bear traps come with the Toa also. If so does that mean Kopaka and Melum have two in their set? And what significance do these Creatures have to Umarak that he'd want to 'trap' them. Maybe they each contain a piece of a key needed to access the MoCo? Or the traps are just Skull Spiders essentially and corrupt the Creatures, which I personally wouldn't mind as Ikar looks like he/she could be a formidable opponent to Tahu if the sizes in that combiner picture are accurate, unlike the Narmoto/Tahu size ratio...
  19. Well whatever his weapons are I love that new blade piece. Also is it used on Gali's spear? I take it that it is also employed on Tahu's swords. Mmm, so many recolors. I guess they figured 2015 'would' rake in enough sales to warrant a budget raise. Edit: Answer ninja'd?^
  20. So seeing as how these leaked we should see the rest anytime now, right? Also, 3 months until these come out. 0.0
  21. Long day out, come back to pics. But not just any pics, but Bionicle mother-*sam jackson* 2016 pics. Umarak's legs<3, and Skrall armor?! What?! Now excuse me while I go weep tears of joy. Also that Ikar(?) is tall on Tahu.
  22. I don't see why they would scrap gear functions. It's not like it's because people complained about them or anything. Even if people did complain it's not like that would've affected 2016's sets seeing as how these were probably started being designed in late 2014 or so. Unless gear functions were just planned as a year one thing from the start. But getting rid of them kind of takes away from G2's charm to me. Hm.
  23. So, almost seems like the Toa masks of Tahu and Kopaka have a resemblance to this year's concept art with the elemental theme(flames and icicles I presume). Neat. As well as the small set enemies, which seem unique. And Umarak has custom legs<3, and the MoCo. :D
  24. So looking at those TTV drawings. More spiders, yaaay... That didn't need a spoiler did it? I only got the pics off reddit.
  25. Soooo anybody wonder if there will be/are two Umarak's instead of one? Like maybe the Hunter and Destroyer are siblings of some sort, or Destroyer is a copy of Hunter that stems from him/her later on. If the MoControl or whatever does indeed combine the creatures then maybe it can also split a being in two. Either sounds cool enough. Also, maybe Makuta isn't the main main villain, but the MoUP has created it's own being, like the Entity of Ultimate Power or something. That would make an awesome double villain twin pack, though. So Makuta as a servent, like manga Tetsuo was to Akira. I mean, Makuta was the main villain of G1, someone fresh might not be that bad an idea.
