Original Bionicle vs CCBS discussion

Random question for those who prefer CCBS/are against the G1 system, but when do you all think the 'downfall' of OGBio was in terms of the action figures? Just to help me better grasp some of your opinions. -
Ahem, so even though Tahu might have 'clashing' textures, ya just gots to admit he's a good parts pack if you like gold.

Are Umarak's upper leg bone a new piece? I don't recall one of those with two pinholes... or were they used on XT4? Ugh, too lazy to check my bone drawer. :P Anyways, I'm really digging Onua, his stature, weapon, trans purple<3. Edit: Nevermind, it was used previously. :3 I'm dumb.

Looking at the magazine image of Umarak and Tahu/Ikir it appears a 4M length trans-orange bone connects to Ikir's head piece so I'm guessing the Creature's head mold is a single piece with a socket.

The first one is just a mirror of the set, right? Somebody try mirroring the actual one and it might look similar. Edit: Just tried it, similar results as it doesn't look like the mask on the boxes.

So, few thoughts I've had in regards to Kopaka and Umarak's Destroyer form. If Kopaka is in the $/£25 range, the new large hexagonal box would most likely be only for that tier, right? Which means they'd most likely use it again next year, possibly on UmarakTD, unless they release another set at that price. Or Kopaka's $/£30 and none of this matters. Curious, how large a figure do people want out of Umarak the destroyer?

"Because it's not like the animations :o" is what I've summed it up to be. I like this one, as well, plus I'm not all too sure of how to transition the animation version into set form. For some reason I can't draw a clear image, maybe just my lack of an imagination(oh childhood, where you go?). Am curious though, maybe UmarakTD will get one more accurate to the animations, but that wouldn't make sense story-wise, and in marketing since the box-art features the winter one. Hm.

I love the inclusion of Technic, on similar lines to what One Very Agile Cat said, Bionicle came from Technic. I know there will be people that jump on me here with "This isn't G1!", but what is Bionicle G2 without some similarities? Both in set and story form. Also Technic is cheaper to produce, so more for my money. That's just my opinion, though. Everybody is entitled to one, I just think some are too entitled. The designers designed sets, that's what they do, and 2016 just happens to appeal to my tastes more. Besides, does anybody really feel kids will go crazy over "clashing textures", or the use of Technic?

Onua has the piston armor on trans purple shells on his thighs now, black torso confirmed. No levitating Skull armor on Tahu, confirmed. Kopaka has a badass mask, confirmed. Umarak has a gunmetal mask, um?

1 silver CCBS hand that I have removed and reapplied over the years, barely a crack though. I must say, though, my Tahu's arms, and Kopaka's left arm have no definition of friction anymore. ._.

Looks trans apple to me. Note how the claws on his feet already came in the trans apple with Scarox, so it'd make since.

I meant cheaper to produce then the Gen1 System, my bad. I was comparing CCBS's scarcity of recolors to how many we were supplied in G1. I know people will throw the That's-Why-It-Failed argument in my face but whatever. Also I was thinking about how some might complain about the amount of Technic being used, and then I thought- What was Bionicle branded as from 01-04, *gasp*, Technic perhaps? I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion, just too entitled(including myself, some might say. Haha.)

I'm a bit tired of the use of metallic colors. ._. We need more solid up in here. Another thing on my mind, what's with the lack of recolors these days? Like hands and feet, they all seem to be silver, black, gold, or white, as well as trans. And things like this year's(2015) armor add-ons that only have 3 colors for one and one for the other. Is it that costly to produce coherent colors(looking at Tahu 2015 silver)? Not that it bothers me a lot, just nitpicking because I thought CCBS was cheaper to produce. Although I will say after trying to MoC with my ridiculous amount of red bones I'm glad that we haven't gotten too many bones in colors other then black and bley(?).

Maybe if Kopaka asks nicely Tahu will lend him some of his gold.

This might have been brought up, but do the Creature's have eyes or not? The glow from the catalogue pics almost looked like a rendered effect, and on this new picture, as well as Kopaka/Melum's, they seem absent. Additionally it seems there is a protruding feature on Ikir's "mask" that may represent eyes, Rotor-syndrome I suspect.

The gear on the lower torso is very apparent here, and Umarak's torso is so complex, I love it. Also Umarak's mask looks like it's just different 'materials' crafted together, G2 Karazahni? Maybe that's his reasoning for wanting the MoCo, and he needs the Creatures for it. Wait maybe not since we know he's employed my Makuta. He also looks more black then I had previously thought, instead of gunmetal, which I approve of.

So... Many... Functions. So looks as if the Creatures are enemies/then protagonists? And Pohatu is the Unifier of Peter? XD

I thought Basher was a creation of Kulta? I know the Scorpio's are, which share the same mask as Basher, unlike Slicer who was raised from the dead by LoSS.
