cool, where's that pic from? Did you make it? Nexo knight robot parts are there as well. I hope Lego will want our money soon.

Thanks, actually I'm already modifying it again, found a way to make the front plate a bit flatter. The hose isn't new, it has been there in all versions. In the Rebrickable instructions, you will see how it's attached in AT-ST_2.1_Parts.lxf (a clip actually attached to the black hose). It's not in the assembled version because it was too tricky to fit in the LDD. This same lxf also shows the proper parts on the sides of the back plate, those too wouldn't fit in the LDD. Also, even though it's way more fragile than a proper Lego set, I haven't done anything that Lego wouldn't do, so I didn't cut parts except the 4mm tubes (as they haven't always come pre-cut).

I think that what we'd like to see again, betrays our ages. I'm 40, so I'd like to see classic space & castles again. Quite ironic that castle & space were Lego's biggest themes, one has disappeared, the other replaced by SW. Perhaps Lego wanted to merge both with Nexo Knights, which IMHO fails at both. -this said-, having checked what was produced during my dark ages (and I'm glad I wasn't around to witness things like Galidor), there are a few things that I did like, like Space Police 3. It was quite interesting, the "bad guys" weren't "bad", it was the interesting side. In one set they steal an ATM, in another they steal the police's own gun & mock them on stickers, how cool was that?

Now on Rebrickable: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/gol/articulated-star-wars-at-st-v21 (make sure to read the description, as 4 parts aren't in Rebrickable's inventory) 4 parts have become rare (50948, 12885 in LBG), 1 is semi-rare (44674, but there's plenty of printed ones that can be cleaned), another semi-rare (2817) can be color-swapped to LBG. https://flic.kr/s/aHskABgBV4

Really? How many companies are producing Lego-like parts now? IMHO Lego's main value today is its name & presence. Part quality, well, let's remember the minifig seat went from this to this And that same sprue (or whatever it really is) mark is to be seen on the -visible- side of pretty much every part nowadays.

Where can you buy trans-yellow windscreens/windows?
anothergol replied to Columbus019's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
hum Bricklink has over 100's of the most common trans-yellow canopy part of the 80's. Used, of course, but -some- of them have to be in usable condition. Talking about old windshields & how to restore them using Future floor polish: DON'T. I thought that it'd be 100% safe, even for someone like me with 2 left hands. Well, it's not, and when you screw up, it's not reversible either. -
yeah for some reason the html produced by the LDD has very weird angles & things are too small - it doesn't look like in the LDD itself. normally it has the function of securing it more, I thought it was necessary because of the weight on that piece. But maybe it's ok without it. It's a common part these days, though. So you got all the parts in just 3 shops? Generally it's "95% parts in 2 shops, 5 more shops for the 5% rare parts". Would be cool fallen down - even though it hasn't been designed to be seen from underneath.

[MOC] [WIP] The Command of the AT-AT
anothergol replied to LiLmeFromDaFuture's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So this would be the AT-AT in Rogue One: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7649/26794089300_83d681305f_b.jpg I can think of many ways to make an AT-AT look cooler, but this isn't amazing. Now if it's supposed to be an ancestor of the AT-AT, perhaps it makes sense. -
Thanks Did you make the LDD generate instructions? I did bundle html instructions with the v1 on Rebrickable, but I don't plan for this one because they were pretty bad. Normally the most challenging is to make it stand up - you're not there yet :) The green parts inside the abdomen btw, they're a (2x3) bracket. The part didn't exist yet in the LDD when I saved the project. I'm not sure it's necessary, though. Latest LXF here, it includes all parts excepts 2 black whips (& the 4mm tube which you already got right) http://www.fiastarta.com/Lego/AT-ST/AT-ST_2_1.lxf Sides are more fragile here, I couldn't find a better way to adapt them to the bottom lips.

The best of the worst Lego Ideas
anothergol replied to anothergol's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The actors, not the producer. Trust me the guy isn't as dumb as he looks, is aware of what the movie was and chose to surf on it. -

Like with sets? Funny, considering how "attack on Hoth" got beaten, while it's nowhere near the joke that these entries are. And we -do- like those entries. Being so unintentionally bad is their quality. The actors behing Samurai Cop must be pretty happy that the movie got so popular for being so bad - a sequel got made. -
I'm afraid not :( It's me who thought to have recognized it in the other thread, but it's actually (most likely) a large 32059 part there. The latest X-wing could have featured them in LBG, but they're sand blue..

Still trying to improve this, I had a design ready for when the new 2x2 wedges would be available in LBG. I was hoping for them to appear in one of the next sets, but sadly it's yet to be seen. And with Lego it could take a year like it could take 10. It's cool that they're available in DBG, though. So I tried to improve the sides to reflect the bottom-right "lip" of the original, and I think it works well enough. I can't decide between these 2, though. I like the one on the right, but the one on the left has the lip bleeding out a little more, like in the "real" one. The lip's angle is certainly wrong, but it has to align with a wedge plate. I also redesigned the bottom of the legs (again), and added some cables (black whips). I'll probably make a Rebrickable entry for version 2 soon.

The best of the worst Lego Ideas
anothergol replied to anothergol's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Pff, first, with that logic, you can't critisize anything, because everyone who has done crap, has done -something- for the society. Second, trust me that a project that gets 10.000 votes, didn't get them from the pool of Lego Ideas users. He got it mainly through social media, thus from 1-time users, who only registered to vote. Those projects are not just guilty of being crap, they're also guilty of crowding something we use. Going to some kid's personal blog to mock his Lego creations, that would indeed make you a douche. But here we're talking about people who are at best mocking us, it's not like they don't deserve to be made fun of in return. And hey, some managed to surf on their wave of fame, it doesn't really matter how it started. Who doesn't love him? The worst.. is the best at something. In fact I have more pity on the load of projects that are neither amazing nor bad. Those won't be remembered. -

lol, why does it matter that the creators of those projects have supported other projects? It would have been weird if they hadn't supported anything so far. -
But the 2x2 is half of a 2x4. I can't imagine room for a 2x4 here, especially since the box shows it from the other side, showing the other 2x2. However, I'm afraid it's one single 32059, which is too bad. Even in the new X-Wing I was hoping there were 2x2's, and there is one, but in light azure or something :(

please tell me this is a 2x2 wedge plate in LBG

it's 61406. Not too rare in grey, I've seen it many times in BrickLink shops -
"LEGO Ruins Creativity"... Again
anothergol replied to PicnicBasketSam's topic in General LEGO Discussion
but this is nothing new, Lego has been doing that since the 80's. It's even possibly less nowadays. -
hum, I'd rather believe the main reason is that Lego's prices are pretty different in each country. Neighbor ones, thus even worse accross continents.
-
pretty sure that any recent part is a 3D model anyway, so nothing's never lost because a mold or original model is lost

I think the best/safest way to get slopes that allow smooth continuity, would be to add them over a 1-plate offset. The downside is that all slopes end point would be thicker, 1 full plate, but the benefits would be better than this little downside. That would also imply they're all designed like the curved slopes, with no stud.
-
Personally, I would be more annoyed by the steps on the outer curve, than by those 2 tiny holes inside. It is even possible to reduce those steps using more complex snotting btw, so maybe if you do that (or maybe you can't, since you can't use brackets) you will get less (but probably more) problems inside. I wish Lego had designed its slopes in ways that they can smoothly chain - I can imagine 2 ways to do this.

I'm afraid it's already gone. Well I hope Amazon is gonna send it - maybe it was there by mistake.

that trans-black windscreen is past 2010, though
