  1. For me it's not a bad thing, since I'm both a Fantasy and Sci-Fi fan and I do love to mix the two genres However I understand why many may feel disappointed. We have been looking for a Castle/Fantasy theme to fill the void left by the now gone Middle Earth sets and the Sci-Fi look may create some "issue" in a traditional Fantasy setting. However probably it won't be too difficult to "mod" or "convert" those sets into traditional Fantasy ones In any case let's hope the theme will be a very interesting one
  2. I have been very busy in the last weeks but here is one of my Lego Star Wars Outdoor photos A guard of shadow and light by BrickSev, on Flickr I hate to post right after my own post but I'd really like to share this photo. Feedback is highly appreciated, especially regarding the "light effects". I hope the didn't "altered" the image too much
  3. I recently uploaded a couple of outdoor Lego Star Wars photos. Here a 212th Attack Battalion Clone Trooper is ready to engage the enemy Lock and load by BrickSev, on Flickr Comments and feedback always appreciated
  4. I used the "Shoulder Pad" sheath from Ninjago for my Deathstroke. He also comes with one sword while he usually carries too but the set as an extra katana part so no problem about that Now all I need is to find a Lego sword to represent the Godkiller Sword
  5. The mixture of Fantasy and Sci-Fi themes is not bad from my point of view Perhaps it's because I like both of them and I find very interesting when they meet each others (a la Stargate SG-1, for example) The nice thing is we can easily modify to sets according to our needs. If we want to go "all Fantasy" I think it wouldn't be difficult to achieve it since the sets would give a perfect base to start with Let's hope to get pics soon
  6. Few days ago I finally got my UCS Slave I and the promotional AT-PD I'm very eager to start building the Slave I now my dilemma is: which one do I build first: Slave I, AT-AT or Ewok Village? They all look interesting but perhaps the AT-AT is the most "repetitive" build of the three so I guess I'd go with the Slave I or the Village first
  7. So just like usual I'd really love to have a Castle them in 2016 but shouldn't we already heard something if those theme is going to see light in 2016? Thank You for the info
  8. Do you know if it is in stock only in the US or even in Europe? Anyway good choice with the Mos Eisley Cantina: it's a wonderful set
  9. The Justice League has arrived "Justice's Arrival" by BrickSev, on Flickr I used this photo in a recent Brick Comics I made and I thought to share it outside the "story context" too I just played a bit with few simple effects. Comments and feedback always appreciated
  10. Thank you to everyone for your nice comments After all the efforts I put in making this comic is truly a pleasure to read these words Thank you very much for you words. They truly mean a lot to me I tried to recreate the Jar Jar style from the movies while adding something original. I'm glad you liked it. There will surely be more stories. Jar Jar has an entire Multiverse to interact with and there are other characters that deserve a spin off I want to show what happen to Red Headpiece too, for example. Thank you very much I was working on the comic so I had less time to make the one panel Jar Jar comics Deep linking a picture is indeed a good idea. The only problem is when I resize those pics to the "forum size" they lose a lot of their quality. I was thinking to upload a couple of preview pics to my Flickr account. Since you are a Flicker user too you can help me about this doubt: Do you know if Flickr allows us to post links to external sites in the images' descriptions? I mean putting that sort of "to see more click here" Thank you for the info. I'll give it a look then. I never thought about that possibility but it looks very interesting. Beside, giving a try won't hurt The main problem I run in is often my works get lost in the vastness of the web. I know it's not easy to reach a wide audience when you start, so I'm always very happy when I get some feedback
  11. Thank you so much for your words You really made my day. Thanks again Jar Jar gave, and still gives, many Lols indeed. I think we should be thankful for that. Without Jar Jar we would have missed a lot of fun lol Thank you very much for your offer. I don't know if we can legally print comics. As far as I know there wouldn't be any copyright infringement since it falls under the "parody category". Beside I didn't use any Logo and since I bought the Minifigures and set I should be able to use them but it always better be careful about such thing. If you have any info on the matter, please let me know, since I'm very interested about it. I don't know if there is a place on the internet where Brick Comics enthusiasts shares their works. I really put a lot of efforts in making this works but often I can't make it reach a wider audience. The internet is a vast place and sometimes things get lost If you have suggestions of info they would be greatly appreciated. I started my "Brick comics career" just few months ago so any help and advice means a lot to me. Thank you again for your kind words, they really made me happy
  12. Hello fellow AFOLs and Star Wars fans, I really like Brick Comics and in the past I made several one panel Jar Jar parody ones. You may have run into them here on EB This time I made an actual Jar Jar inspired parody comic story (19 pages and 76 panels). It's the first chapter in a series and I'm already planning the next chapters and even spin offs. Allow me to present you: "War of the Space Teddies. Chapter 1: First Contact" It may looks simple but it took me a lot of effort to make this comic. I even spent time in editing the photos of each panel to create better/more realist light conditions etc, so if you like the story or if you have any feedback feel free to post your comment. It means a lot to me to hear your opinions I hope you'll enjoy this story. May the Brick be with You
  13. I understand the "this theme did't perform well" part but since they already manufactured those set and released in North America wouldn't be more logical to try to sell them instead of keeping those boxes in their warehouses? I mean, once you actually made those sets you should try to sell. They would clearly earn more money than keeping them locked in some warehouse. Unless they made only the sets released in North America and so they didn't produce any other of them. I really liked that UA wave: the boat and the aircraft are very nice. Well, at least I got AntiMatter Minifigure with the UltraCopter
  14. Do we already know if there will be actually be a Castle theme in 2016? I have been super busy in the last weeks and I hadn't the chance to check rumors Thanks for the info
  15. Truly impressive army I see you found a good use for those Duplo Elephants, well done
  16. Well, like I said I don't want to enter the "costumes issue" discussion, since I know it tends to bring the conversation out of topic lol and it's a quite "sensitive" one I read so many "fervent" quarrels on that matter Thanks for the info on the hairpiece. The only problem is I can't find the TMNT sets. I can try to Bricklink the parts but every time I find what I need it is sold by a seller outside EU and that increases the shipping cost considerably. I'll keep looking I was thinking about using some of the read hairpieces from the Elves/Friends sets (which I can find at a nice price, sometimes even discounted) but I noticed perhaps the red of those hairpieces is a bit darker for Starfire. I know it's not easy to find the right hairpiece for her comics version, since it should be also be longer than most available hairpieces but I'm trying to get the closest possible with the available parts
  17. I was thinking about what Star Wars set order in order to get the free AT-DP polybag and speeding about 60€ just to get it seemed a waste of money, so I decided to actually get something useful (even though more expensive lol) so I ordered the mighty USC Slave I Well, like I said I got in a peculiar period of my life, just before I went away from the hobby due to a series of reason, so I'm sure it greatly affected my perception of that set. Then add the fact I was much younger ( 13 years younger) and at the time I was more interested in other kind of builds like vehicles etc. I'm sure all these circumstance somehow forged, and perhaps altered, my opinion on the set. I'm thinking about rebuilding it now but I'm tempted to use all those parts for MOCs. Like you said there are many useful tan bricks in that set
  18. Actually the Starfire's costume from Starfire #1 and #2 2015 series is less skimpy than Leia Bikini. I don't have an image to link here but if you google it you can see it by yourself. It's actually a top over a bikini bottom, so much less revealing than Leia bikini Not that being skimpy is a crime lol but if that was the designers's concern that Starfire's would be more "suitable" than Leia bikini, just for the records Anyway does anyone have a suggestion for a read hairpiece for Starfire? At least I'm trying to give her the right colored hair
  19. Honestly it's neither obvious nor understandable, since the current Starfire costume is not more "skimpy" than Slave Leia bikini and they had no problem in making that Minifigure. However I don't want to start talking about the "costumes issues" lol
  20. Do we know if there will be other DC sets scheduled to be released in 2015? I haven't the chance to check rumors recently Anyway regarding Jokerland I want to say it is a wonderful set. I had so much fun building it. I decided to buy it for the Minifigures but I enjoyed the build far more than the Minfigures. Don't misunderstand me, the Minifigures are nice but they have mixed look from different sources. I mean, Batman wears his New 52 costume (and with boot printing as well ) Beast Boy has green skin like he was on "New Earth" (pre New 52) version and Starfire is the version from Teen Titans go. They mixed a lot of things. It's not bad per se. I'm just disappointed with Starfire. I was so excited to have a Minifigure of her but instead of the comic version they made the Teen Titan go version with purple hair and a terrible hairpiece that prevent any headpiece movement. Do you have any idea to replace that hairpiece? Perhaps some read hairpiece from the Friends/Elves sets? Do you think there is a better hairpiece for the lovely Princess Kori that looks more like her comics version? Thank you very much for the help. She is one of my favorite characters
  21. Another of my outdoor Lego photos. I took it some time ago but I never had the chance to post it here, so I'm doing it now Shadow on a tree by BrickSev, on Flickr Feedback and comments are always appreciated
  22. I bought 7194 when it was first released and it is the only Lego set ever I start building but never completed. However, it was just before I went away from the hobby for a while so it may be the reason I never completed it and when I came back I acquired so many sets I have barely the time to build them lol I think I should try to complete it and see if the building experience enjoyable. Anyway if it is expensive like the other UCS sets I wouldn't recommend to buy it: there are far more interesting Star Wars sets to buy. Just my two cents, of course
  23. Truly impressive collection What else to say, if not Impressive, most impressive
  24. Another of the "super expensive" sets then Do you plan to get it new or used? I don't even try to acquire those kind of sets. I think in the end I spend even more than those sets' cost lol but since I like to make photos and comics with the cost of such sets I can acquire the sets/parts I need for those projects or at least a good part of them Anyway, "good hunting" in your search for the ISD. I hope you'll find a good deal
  25. Well it's actually the value it has on the market from what I know. Recently a new UCS Falcon was sold for more than 5000€. Happy building, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it
