  1. Well with a new Amazon series and video games in the pipeline it's a possibility, especially if they end up being really good. Amazon will want to merchandise the heck out of it. I don't know if anyone has talked about it here but I was very glad to see the same add on the back of the 501st set that says " play it in LEGO Star Wars the Skywalker Saga". I always assume the most recent sets to be released around the same time as a LEGO game will be playable in it but it's nice to get confirmation. Ntm, that indicates it's in the base game and will not require an unlock code like the Razor Crest. It also means it won't be locked behind dlc so it'll be nice to have some Clone Wars representation in the game, though I of course would love a Clone Wars themed dlc. I assume the rest of the sets in this wave will include the same ad though. Having seen some comparison pics between the Airborne Trooper from Grievous's Starfighter and the old bp, there are some improvements to the printing. The hip piece is white and printed rather than plain black. I can understand why people don't like this change but I like it a lot. If the hip pices weren't printed it would be a different story though. The new version also has much better leg printing with full kneepads, they're not cutoff like the old one. The helmet is exactly the same and the torso has some slight improvements with finer details. Overall it's a nice improvement but in no way worth buying the set for.
  2. Geeze, I feel like half the time I jump into this thread it's a dumpster fire... Despite my issues with the ST, the Night Buzzard is the set I'm most looking forward to this fall. It's a fresh new design and I love the design of the vehicle and the Knights of Ren overall. I've been obsessively pooring over the few pics we have of it and based on what we have it appears there's only a small bit of space in the midsection to fit 1 or maybe 2 minifigs with a small hatch on the top. While I didn't expect it to be able to fit all 6 Knights plus Kylo Ren for $70, I'm a little disappointed it doesn't seem to have more space inside. Hopefully there's some space in the back section too. I've seen a lot of hate for the AAT but I really like it, especially when you look at the smaller picture of it with the top closed. The overall shape is really good. I will say the skirt section of it is a bit stubby and doesn't look so great in the front and overall it lacks finer detail but on the other hand that means it's not covered in stickers. It appears there might only be 2, one on each side for the sepratist emblems.
  3. I like the hall of armor extension but I still need to get the hall of armor itself. For what's included, I like it though the armor choices could've been more exciting.
  4. Wow, I'm very, very happy with the Nightbuzzard and the AAT!!!! They both look awesome and the figures are fantastic. The only disappointing elements of each are Rey not having a yellow lightsaber(which I will fix upon receiving the set) and minor nitpicks with the Knights of Rens' weapons. Card should have a proper arm cannon and I wish Kuruk had a little red on his blaster. I love that LEGO added a little red to each of the Knights of Rens' main weapons so they have an element of uniformity. Again, those are minor nitpicks on some otherwise awesome figures and I can't wait to complete the Knights of Ren who are easily my favorite part of the ST despite how under utilized they are. For the AAT, the build looks excellent but dare I say it could've used a few stickers? It looks kinda plain but will likely look much better in person as opposed to the digital renders. The figures in the set are what I had hoped for but didn't expect, just fantastic all around, even the accurate inclusion of AAT Driver Droids which I fully expected LEGO to throw in plain Battle Droids for. The Jedi Interceptor is disappointing but the fact that it looks so similar to the previous one we got of Anakin's makes this an easy pass. It's really just a minor update for those who missed the last one which is fine. The Death Star Duel remake is a big surprise, it looks great with a modern update but I foresee picking it up. Grievous's Starfighter is an easy pass. It doesn't look like much of an improvement over the last one, the figures are a disappointment (as much as I love the Airborne Trooper, I already have some from the bp from years ago) and it's waaaay overpriced especially when you compare this set to the Nightbuzzard. The Resistance I-TS is a complete surprise, but a welcome one. It looks good for what it is and has cool figures, I just wish it included more. This also opens up a can of worms in terms of possibility. If they're willing to make a Galaxy's Edge set like this, I'm drooling at the idea of something like Doc Ondar's Den of Antiquates(and not just because Ithorians are my favorite Star Wars alien and I want more of them)! The 501st Trooper set was already a must have and I greatly look forward to it. The new pictures do provide a pleasant surprise in the use of the candlestick piece in black for a more accurate DC-15A blaster rifle, I like that much better than the 3L technic pin with axle hole.
  5. I agree especially because LEGO doesn't have anything to replace them with. They can't throw something else together in that amount of time and delaying the whole wave would be a huge loss in revenue, not to mention throw off their release schedule for next year. The only way I see them delaying the Eternals sets is if Disney forces them to(assuming they have the power to do that).
  6. I'd also love to see a better Carnotaurus head or at least with better printing. I want to like the existing one but it's just so darn derpy looking that it completely ruins it.
  7. Y'know, everyone seems to be mocking the head on the new Hulkbuster but I think it looks perfectly appropriate for the classic comic book version of the Hulkbuster. Sure it's a bit shallow but the previously used dome piece is too steep. Ideally it should be something in between but that would require a new mold. I think it's going to be one of those situations where it looks better in person. Also, based on how it appears to be constructed it looks like the shoulder cannon should be easily removable to have proper symmetrical shoulders. Assuming the shoulders are constructed the same, it's really only attached by a single stud.
  8. Ya, that set has convinced me I want to make a park as well. I didn't get the Triceratops set from last year but I did get the Triceratops off bricklink as well as the T-Rex transport set from 2 years ago.
  9. Wow, I was NOT expecting the Ankylosaurus to have as many pieces as it does but that's a good thing. This new construction is going to be fantastically useful for new dinos in the future. The tail is more loose than I would like and I kinda wish it had swinging mechanic with a rubber band inside to be able to pull it to one side and release. The underside of the head is really hollow but it's not going to be noticeable from most angles. The set overall looks amazing and they did an amazing job with the Ankylosaurus! The Indominus looks really good with that silver printing too.
  10. It's nice to get a comic version of the Hulkbuster, it looks pretty good overall though the cannon on the right shoulder looks really bad but looks like it will be easy to modify to make the shoulders symmetrical. The tower looks excellent and I look forward to seeing better pictures of the interior. Easily the weakest aspect of these 2 sets though are the figure selection. It's nice to get Rescue in the Hulkbuster but we get the same Ironman yet again and the tower's figures are even worse. The same Ironman and Black Widow again Red Skull isn't too exciting and while it's nice to get a couple Ironman suit variants, it sucks that no other characters are included. I won't complain about the AIM soldiers as those are to be expected and can be army built, though I will say it is odd to see Red Skull with AIM soldiers rather than with Hydra troops. Interesting reversal though, typically the best part of Marvel sets are the figures with the builds being mediocre or just bad, now the the builds are pretty good but the figures are mediocre. The Iron Man helmet is pretty disappointing. It looks so derpy. Given the scale and how well they did with the Star Wars helmets I expected better. I'll be picking up the Hulkbuster for sure, the tower will depend on budget and the Ironman helmet is an easy pass.
  11. I'm aware and I plan to give her one regardless, it'd just be nice to have it in an official set, especially for kids and casual fans who don't know about bricklink.
  12. The Night Buzzard is honestly one of the sets I'm looking forward to the most. I really like the design, I like the Knights of Ren and it's something completely new. It'll be nice to complete the group with the remaining 2 Knights. The random Rey thrown in I found to be annoying especially when we could've gotten Albrekh however since the cover of LEGO Star Wars the Skywalker Saga was released, I've been thinking what if the Rey figure in this set includes her yellow lightsaber? That would certainly improve the set's desirability and could perhaps explain why Rey was randomly thrown in.
  13. The printing for Falcon looks alright and I like the dual molded legs but those wings, oof. I wish they had given him better wings rather than include the overused sixshot stud cannon. It's an easy pass for me.
  14. Agreed. Frankly, this is the one theme in which I couldn't possibly care less about what figures are included. For me it's about the dinos and the builds. If the figures have useful parts it's a bonus. That's kinda how I felt about the LEGO JW game too, I wish they had focused on more playable dinos and fewer minifigs. It's not terribly exciting unlocking generic nameless background character #3 or the ones that are made up to fill roster space but considering it's a franchise with like 10 characters I can understand the dilemma.
  15. Now if they made a new smaller version of that piece I think it could work but if they're using that same piece I'm not sure how they can use it at the $40 price point without it being obnoxiously large.
  16. See, the Helicarrier is the one set I'm for sure getting. The figures are awesome, MODOK looks great and while the Helicarrier isn't the greatest, as shown futher back in the thread, it doesn't take a lot of modification to make it look good. For the tower, for sure the build has to be good and of course I'd love to have an Avengers tower in my display but there are a ton of other sets coming out this year from other themes that take priority for me and a lot of them are quite expensive so for me to co sider a $90 tower, it's going to need to blow me away and so far the figure selection doesn't help its chances.
  17. As far as the rumors for the tower go, the 2 mystery figures better be incredible, otherwise that set is a pass. Th jury's out on the hall of armor until we know what it comes with but being $30 increases the likelihood I'll pick it up. Same with the Hulkbuster set, as much as I love the Hulkbuster and mechs in general I'm getting sick of them. The build is going to need to impress me.
  18. I'm going to have to disagree with this too. I'm beyond sick of the Outriders too. To me they look awful, they are a poor representation of the source material, both the comics and the films, not to mention they're just not at all interesting or important. At least with the AIM soldiers they appear relatively accurate to the game and are more desirable because AIM is such a massive presence in all things Marvel(except the MCU where they've so far squandered that potential).
  19. Making a lot of assumptions there. I actually kinda like the game design and have absolutely zero issue with character designs for the Avengers in general. Seriously, what were people expecting? Did you think they were going to recreate the movie actors for a game that is not and was never meant to be MCU based? I just don't get the hate for the game designs. It's like complaining that the cartoons don't look and sound like the movies when they were never meant to. As far as the figures go, I'm beyond sick of the MCU helmet. If the set is meant to be MCU-based(which it more than likely is not) then yes they should use the MCU helmet design. Personally I hope it's for the game so we can get a variety of suits from the game.
  20. I don't think they've ever done stickers in minifig packs like this so that either means printed parts or plain parts. Personally I like the molded wings because they aren't cumbersome but I prefer the brick built ones because of their articulation. I'm not a big fan of the AIM Agent design either but blame the upcoming Avengers game for the design choice. I do hope we get the classic bucket head design in LEGO some day.
  21. I would honestly prefer if the child did not include the pod, I'd rther the focus was on making the child look as good as possible though I think they could include a cup, the ball and maybe the one-eyed frog. To those worried about the child based on the recent Yoda, I recently got it for my wife as she loves the statues and really wanted Yoda and it looks really good. Pictures simply DO NOT do it justice. In fact, I myself did not like it until I saw it on display in a LEGO store months ago. It's definitely a set you have to see in person to really appreciate.
  22. We've known what they are but nobody knows what they're for yet. I was surprised the back of the box didn't show it. Personally, my best guess is that they get stuck all over the build to convert it into an AIM Helicarrier as if they took it over as I imagine something like that might happen in the game but that's pure speculation on my part.
  23. Wow, the AT-AT looks excellent, proportions look a bit off but still looks really solid. I have the AT-M6 but still don't have an AT-AT. With everything else coming out and I don't think I'll be able to swing it sadly. Maybe if I'm lucky.
  24. I really like that there's a rotor spinning function on the Helicarrier. It now also makes sense why the back of the Helicarrier is hollow, because it's a cell for MODOK. It looks bad but it's good for play. I would have hoped the back of box pictures would tell us what all the yellow pieces are for... but no. Black Widow looks fantastic with arm printing, I really like her design here. Really all the figures in the set are really good. My favorite is easily War Machine though, I love all the extra armaments and the updated helmet looks excellent. The Helicarrier itself is far from perfect but I like it for what it us. Hopefully the interior is decent, I'm sure we'll get pics soon.
  25. Wow these sets look great! I'm especially looking forward to the forbidden forest encounter set. I'm really happy LEGO is continuing to make large brick built human or humanish characters look like giant minifigs. Grawp looks really good and the centaurs are fantastic!(no pun intended) I'm also loving that they're continuing to put the patronus animals in the cheapest sets making them easy to get.
