I'm confused, is this a topic just to announce something you might start working on in the future?

I'm probably 60% through my character build at this point. Had to switch from my original idea after realizing the geometry of minifigs wouldn't work with what I wanted to do. Thought of some good tweaks I need to implement tonight and hope to finish the first version then let it marinade for a few days before pictures. Will tackle the past scene next week I think. Still trying to decide whether to keep it smaller or bigger, but I think smaller will make more sense and be easier to pull off. Got 2 different freebuild ideas kicking around right now also. Bought 9 minifigs and some heads so I have more flexibility in builds too.

I bought a bunch of stormtroopers off bricklink since somehow I have fighter pilots, snow troopers, scout troopers, etc but no stormtroopers.

I just joined myself. Depending on your inclination you can either do a "backstory" build or the latest episode. You get 4 freebuilds per episode that can be scored. I'm not sure I get 3 more freebuilds in between now and Dec 14th, but I want to get in as many as I can to try and hit level 2 for the next episode.

The rules thread (http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85285) says between ESB and ROJ. Making it roughly 3 ABY since ROJ is 4 ABY.

[SoNE Freebuild 15] Fixing to Clear the Mind
Kodan Black replied to MKJoshA's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Whew, a lot to take in. First, love the outside street scene -- very organic and that tractor trailer truck equivalent is sweet. In the first big picture I don't know how comfortable it is to have a wrench up the backside, but I've never tried it either! I might have tried to take the shot in such a way to hide that. (Second picture he is leaning against air?) The speeder is pretty basic but works, I kind of wish in the "fix it" picture the hoses on the wall would be hooked up or a rolling diagnostics cart or something would be used. I like the continuation of the story and the back wall's tool grid. That is pretty nifty. The more I look at the tractor trailer the more I like it too. -
Thanks for the comments. I'm looking forward to getting more into SoNE and learning lots of the newer techniques. One of the pieces on the speeder is actually 34 years old.

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion

Ok, finally got my character shot sorted out: -
My character scene will definitely be based in part on a freebuild I was planning on doing. I'll likely just be doing a narrow view of the larger scope that the freebuild will contain. I think I have my ancestor scene too. Going to have to get going on them just to make sure it works out in bricks the way I see it in my head!

MOC instructions for Dark Forces Moldy Crew ship
Kodan Black replied to DanishLegoLover's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Moldy Crew is what happens when the environmental controls go haywire! Looking in the index (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=69834#entry1289686) I found two builds: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=83543 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=59560 -
Any height restriction on the 16x16 build?

I've always loved speed. Just something about that feeling as the ground moves beneath you faster and faster. I was never that gifted an athlete, but Zosj and Kaern would always help me with creating something to get moving. Our first project was a speeder bike. It was simple and cheap, but it got going fast enough. Zosj loved it and he could ride it better than Kaern or I could. I tried to beat his times on it, but I just didn't have the natural connection to it that he did. Kaern was never comfortable going fast, oh he loved to make things go fast he just wanted someone else to ride them. He was brilliant at squeezing all the power out of an engine or getting the weight distribution just right. The second time Zosj had a wreck though all our parents said no more speeder bikes. We still figured out things to tinker with but it wasn't until we were a few years older when we got that old speeder that we could really feel the exhiliration of speed again. There were plenty of kids with nice looking speeders, but ours was the fastest. It didn't look like much (fine it was downright ugly), but with Kaern working his magic and me piloting it we were unstoppable. We'd go out into the nearby fields and just go flat out. Kaern's dad was an Imperial scientist so it wasn't much of a surprise that he ended up going the Imperial engineering route. I wanted Zosj to try out as a pilot with me, but he didn't make it in. He said he'd tried, but given that he ended up as a scout trooper with a speeder bike... Some times I miss that old speeder with Kaern urging me to be careful and Zosj urging me to go faster, but now I get to go fast and make a difference. Now I get to keep order. And even though Zosj is off doing important reconnaisance work and Kaern is doing something too secret to even hint at, we keep in touch. Hopefully once we defeat these Rebels that want anarchy we can all get together again and relive the old days. (Overhead) (Closeup of speeder) OoC: Please judge and give C&C. I've been out of the MOC scene for a looooooong time. This is my first work getting back into it and there are a lot of things like SNoT that I have to even wrap my head around. I'm hoping that my stuff will improve as I get back into things. My Lego parts are roughly in 2 camps -- recent SW sets and stuff that is 20+ years old. Thanks for looking!

That does look fun. Hrmm... going to need a few days to think about it! A couple ideas that have already popped into my head: spear from relative that was on Endor, clone trooper armor or helmet, some sort of map or document. Anyone else coming up with stuff? Figure it has to be something pretty small to carry it with you. Oops, apparently was supposed to post my freebuild in here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102295

The Episode will run from November 10th to December 14th. As long as it is still December 7th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Is it the 14th or 7th?

I can't help but hear the line from X-Men anytime I hear the name Juggernaut ... I'm the Juggernaut b*tch! Looks good so far.

Imperial Pilot Kodan Black reporting for duty! (Sorry, I took a picture of my minifig last night but it was super blurry when I pulled it into Photoshop this morning. I'll have to reshoot tonight) -
Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
Kodan Black replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Oh, I've been lurking for a while, I've looked at every single build in the mega-thread (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=69834)... I'll have to think about it. One question, can I start doing SoNE and then do freebuilds that build backstory or are freebuilds only for present character development? -
Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
Kodan Black replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
As I contemplate creating a character and joining in this fun madness, I think the most limiting side of the Empire is how fixed everything is. The Rebels are this rag-tag group where practically anything is acceptable, beggars can't be choosers, but the Empire has a "system". You can build a freighter and say "this is my character's ship" as a Rebel and the freighter can look like basically anything. As an Empire person you can't do that, it is a much more narrowly acceptable criteria. I tend towards playing the good guy in games, so I was thinking I'd challenge that and go dark side, but I feel like being Empire would make me too penned in. I wonder if allowing the Empire some latitude via hired mercenaries or something would make more people join up. Or I might have missed something and this is already permissible, which would incline me towards trying my hand at being a "bad guy". -
CCCXII Falworth Castle Revisited.
Kodan Black replied to Mark of Falworth's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I LOVE the inset archway style you have used, really adds something to the towers. The path is well done and man do you have a LOT of greenery. My one disappointment was the big boulder by the waterfall (left of it), I had kind of hoped was secretly a doorway to something. Hollywood has clearly ruined me to think that a waterfall doesn't contain a secret base! The palm trees are very well done and seem very organic. The water effect is very believable with the light parts/medium/dark all collaborating to make for a lovely little splash of color that draws the eye down from top to bottom, then the criss-cross of the path makes you go side to side. -
So nice! There is a lot to look at here, no matter what part you focus on there is cool stuff to see. I think my favorite part is all that you managed to fit into the interior without it feeling overdone or cramped. Sometimes adding in lots of details detracts because it feels claustrophobic but this manages to get the balance just right!

I'm unfamiliar with the Thrawn trilogy, though I may have to pick it up with VII about a year away. But I like the build. The hovercar looks cool, the architecture is well done and I like the sense of action. Perhaps the most banal part of the build is the one that I think attracts me the most... the driveway pavers. It looks so real and the spacing is so true to life. Actually the driveway and portico remind me of my favorite vacation spot Atlantis in the Bahamas. Maybe that is why I'm so drawn to it! ;) Congrats, I like everything I've seen you build, makes me excited to see what is next from you.

[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels
Kodan Black replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I like it as a whole. I think the scale works well and as you said, you don't want it to be taking up too much space. One of the things I liked most is that areas like where the Phantom seperate were designed with the "cover" removed. So even with the Phantom out the space beneath doesn't look rough. Plus I like the way you have the cockpit sliding out and parts opening. Clearly a labor of love and all the effort has paid off. -
[SoNE Freebuild] Unexpected Arrival
Kodan Black replied to WickNole's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
My first question after seeing the minifig scale picture was "I wonder if that door opens" and then in the next picture, it is partially opened! I like the story, I like the microbuilding. That is a tough scale to work in, I'm never good at it. For some reason when I try doing it my brain only sees the part instead of the abstract. I like the various details, the snow, the trees, etc. Even the use of different heads with facial expressions to bring some levity to the scene! -
Incredible. I feel like I can hear Max Rebo playing just looking at it. Can't even imagine the time and energy to get it to this level.
