Are they discontinued? My local Lego shop had plenty and Amazon has them in stock also.
-
If the Advent contained them it would be nearly impossible to get as everyone bought all they could get their hands on. I'd get at least 2 for Zuckuss, 4-LOM and Beru alone.

Since it is Naboo, maybe green construction paper for the background ... or if you have a garden or something else green? I like it overall. This comment won't help much because you probably can't do much about it, but the right side seems crowded. The people fleeing are right near the dying relative, there are STAPs, the droideka near the fountain, etc. While the left hand side has pretty much the droid and in the future the N1. Maybe have fewer people fleeing to make it less congested?

Got a bunch of minifigs off bricklink that I feel no SW collection should be without: Vader, Yoda, Palpatine, etc.
-
I like the build and it has a lot going for its relatively small footprint, but is there a reason for the mix of yellow minifig heads and flesh colored ones? Just a personal preference, but I like to see all of one or the other.

Just my thoughts, but I believe there are too many parts and too many minifigs. TLG could cut down on both and produce something similar, but then you lose out on some of the cool building techniques used.

CCCXII - The Forestmen's Cunning Heist

I love the use of the classic figures and the details like the cracks in the rock. The story is wonderful and the cutaway reveals so many secrets. Great job. -
[MOC] The_Explorer off-road concept car
Kodan Black replied to Peteris_Sprogis's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It looks very good. From a practical standpoint though, I would think an offroad vehicle would have more protection for the engine. Getting stranded because an errant tree branch or kicked up rock took out part of your engine would be distressing. But the look is right and it has the proper ground clearance. Also, is that panda even qualified to drive? I want to see a license! -
[SoNE Episode VII] Always Be Ready
Kodan Black replied to Kodan Black's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Ok, new photos are up. -
This was a large part of my reaction. However, I also accept that this is a fast teaser trailer and that we are over a year away from it hitting theaters. It isn't done and there is likely going to be some re-work done. Overall, I'm trusting JJ to deliver. I figure he certainly can't do worse than the prequels.

[SoNE Episode VII] Always Be Ready

Sorry, I pulled the past scenes because the photography and lighting were awful. I should have new ones up later today. -
Sometimes you have to sacrifice practicality for aesthetics. Nice little build. I'm sure as further trailers come out this forum will be lighting up with new creations.

Yeah the wing sag makes the cockpit appear to be rotated up a bit. Sadly at times the medium makes it difficult to overcome some obstacles. Overall it is very sleek and fast looking, just like it should! Nice work.

[SoNE Episode VII] Always Be Ready
Kodan Black replied to Kodan Black's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Yeah, I apologize for the lighting. I wanted the builds to both be dark to match the tone. Unfortunately that isn't that conducive to picture taking. Next time I may have to break out the tripod and set for a long exposure. Apologies for poor lighting. If I hadn't already broken them down for freebuilds I'd reshoot. -
http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102782 Scenes are up. I hit up pick-a-brick this past weekend and managed to get some newer bricks, though the selection was pretty limited. Hoping that helps me in some of my future builds. I have a couple freebuilds I need to build to get my character arc headed in the right direction.

I've been very frustrated since getting my posting. I never envisioned the monotony when I joined up, I had visions of constant battles and being the pilot that made the difference in a fight. Instead all I've done since graduating and getting my ship assignment is patrols and visual flybys of freighters. I know that combat means losing good people, but another flight full of nothing has me feeling like I'm wasting my skills. The combat veterans call me nugget or new guy and tell me they'll learn my name when I've come under fire and proven myself. Not even the officers use my name, I'm just "pilot". It helps me to focus on what my grandfather said as he handed me his knife that day I left for flight school: "Always be ready." You never know when things will happen and that is why I keep his knife in my boot every time I suit up. I try to be patient and know that what the Empire is doing is larger than 1 pilot. Feeling that metal in my boot helps keep my attention on every detail on patrol and keeps me alert every time we are sent out to inspect a ship. I know one of these days that awareness will pay off like it did for my grandfather that one late night so long ago. I don't know if the whole story is true, he always was a good story teller; but as he told it he was heading home late one night after drinking with some friends in the city. I'm pretty certain that drinking part is true! He'd missed a shuttle and didn't want to wait around for another so he decided to walk home. He got a bit lost, apparently the drinks had impacted his sense of direction somehow, but he knew the rough direction he needed to go. As he was walking down a side street near the Space Parrot he sensed footsteps behind him. As he turned to look he saw 2 men coming at him and then heard footsteps coming at him from the direction he had just been headed in. Luckily he had his knife with him and was able to put his back against the wall and quickly pull his knife on his attackers and strike one before they could swarm him. They'd thought he was just an unarmed drunk, and once they realized he had a knife and wouldn't be an easy mark they grabbed their injured friend and ran away. After that he never went out without that knife hidden somewhere on his person. He even told me that he'd hid it away on his wedding day, I promised never to tell grandmother that! OoC: Views of the builds for both size and overall judging purposes below.

[SoNE Freebuild] 7.2 - Rebel Infantry Transport
Kodan Black replied to goatman461's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Shameless, those rebels stealing from poor citizens just trying to earn a living. I like the build, at first I thought it was a repeat, then I realized this was the one you had previously previewed. The transport is cool and reminds me some of the transports in Rebels. I like the color splashes in the scene as it draws the eye around it, but the one part that I'm struggling with is the light sand (?) with the sparse vegetation and then the sudden lush greenery. I'm not sure if they have a better solution but I'd kind of expect the "farmed" portion to either be in straight rows or a circle based on irrigation techniques. One other minor critique is that it looks like they have more security than people actually gathering supplies. Plus the 3 rebels on the 6x6 plate are poorly trained for huddling so close together. They'd be easy pickings for an explosive or rapid firing weapon.- 4 replies

That thing is cool looking. I like the trimaran shape and the colors look good too. Cool that it comes apart like that too.

Just incredible. Great attention to detail. Hope you saved lots of photos somewhere just in case you need to deal with insurance in the future. ;) That collection looks to be worth quite a pretty penny!

Wow, that is quite impressive. You even gave it a neat stand that provides some flair!

I recognized the scene right from the first image. Great representation of it. I like the snow intermingled into the scene without it being too much.

I'm not sure what sets the separators come in, but I have none. I've used my swiss army knife for ~20 years and it still seems to work just fine for me. I use the phillips screwdriver mostly as it is rounded, sometimes to separate tiles I use the blade from the side very carefully and for those stubborn technic pins or axles there is the awl or bottle opener. I wouldn't necessarily turn down a separator, but I've gotten quite used to my swiss army knife.

Stunning! What a fantastic representation of the original. The scale is truly impressive also. Can you talk a little bit about the process you used to approach such a daunting build?
