  1. Good video, just wish there was a close-up of the minifigs.

Really cool looking, has a sort of airboat vibe to it also. Love the base with the snow and tracks too!
  3. Love the sleek and smooth cockpit that goes well with the powerful engines and lots of great greebles.
  4. Great build with a ton of stuff packed into a small space.
  5. Both are instantly recognizable, and you certainly aren't going for details at this scale ... so I'd say they are fantastic!
  6. I'd say that is quite good for a 20 minute build. Some of the more compound shapes aren't really possible to achieve in Lego form, so this is a good representation within the limits of the medium.
  7. I hadn't considered what happens with TFA. Is the plan to just continue on with episodes or hit the big reset button or there is no plan yet?
  8. I love Goatman's stuff so I'd be curious to see where it went, I'm just saying that is a group with a very limited purpose and task. And you never leave, so it isn't like you get promoted out of it, pretty much the only way out is permanent. But if he thinks he can make it work that is obviously his call. At the 100 mark the sky is the limit.
  9. I agree that at 100+ you have open doors, but picking a unit solely dedicated to the protection of the emperor might be rather limiting. They had some other very specific minor tasks, but given their low numbers and limited scope you might run into issues.
  10. Wow, IMO that "stormtrooper" looks horrible. I'm embarrassed for Lego for even making that.
  11. My first BEAVeR post, it is like Christmas morning! Always happy to get feedback! Admittedly I do tend to worry more about the build and less about the photos until I need to take the photos. I've been trying to work more on thinking about the photography as I build, but I'm not always successful. I'm glad you noticed the shelf for the shampoo/soap. I admit I did think about the place for the towel/clothing but I failed to come up with a good solution so I sort of just barreled ahead with it as is. I tend to like my builds "complete" so I often struggle to do only part of a room. I like your suggestions on the heating lights for drying off, that would have been good. The red lights/speakers were meant to be warning klaxons in case of attack. I agree with you on the past build, the building ended up lackluster. I wanted windows and felt that of my window parts those blue ones were the best choice, but admittedly it wasn't a good integration of the blue. I'm glad you noticed my little grate though, that was a bit of a hidden element that I thought was cool but it ended up being pretty much invisible. The photography ended up being a let down, I tried to make it a night scene but it most just came out being hard to see. Next time I'd photograph it in full light and post-process it into night time. I definitely needed more "clutter" to make it come off as a street scene in a city, it is far too clean. I'm trying to progress my builds as I do more building and see more of all the great stuff in SoNE. I have a pretty clear vision of at least 2 episode's worth of freebuilds at this point, so hopefully my story progression is cohesive and builds into people connecting with my character. Thanks for the well though out feedback, it really is amazing the effort you put into your posts. You notice all the smallest details and really go over the builds with a fine toothed comb! Your posts are always worth the wait.
  12. On the next episode of Imperial ER... Love the look of the hospital and all the medical equipment. Great realism with the one guy holding the blood bag and the other with the air assist bag. The OR is particularly well done. A really fantastic build and I can't wait to see where this all goes!
  13. I like it, the story continues to be really captivating and the action is certainly there. I appreciate the attention to detail of having the used escape pods with a red light and the unused with a blue light, that is well done. I don't really get how people's faces disappear but hopefully that gets explained at some point. The lighting seems particularly excellent this time around both in terms of visibility in the photos but more importantly realism for the space station. As ever, your minifig posing is spot on. You may win some sort of award for most vents used in such a small space with that escape pod!
  14. Instantly recognizable and clever parts usage to get that Mickey Head/flowerbed part right. Most impressive.
  15. Thanks, the natural light really helped with the photos. Alas that isn't always easy to come by this time of year. Yeah, I love all the SoNE builds. Great to see lots of inspiration and new techniques.
  16. Ok, this thing gets 5 points for that brilliant use of the brick separator alone! The story is fantastic. It ties so many things together and really fleshes things out. But it also leaves so much room for the future path your character is taking. The council chamber room is great, but I'm just going to kind of skip over it. That orange walkway alone is an incredible freebuild. It has a very asian flair to it, but also is totally SW. It just looks like it is lifted from one of the movies, all the minifigs with their respirators, those lanterns are so simple in a "why didn't I think of that?" way and yet so brilliant ... The freighter is great, totally imperial vibe, the front reminds me of an AT-AT, the interior is perfect SW feel to it also. I love the removable sections and the drop down ramp, it just is well built and appropriate even down to the cargo container with the functional door. You easily could have just made a box but you made the extra effort to have an opening door! The dock though is the masterpiece. The minifigs all work, the slightly haphazard crates, the section to the right of the ship are all very good. What really propels this to another level for me is the coloring. Instantly you see the orange at the top, but your eye then gets pulled to that crazy tree with the blue and finally between the angle of the ship and the yellow of the landing platform you hit the expanse of the dock itself. You've built it in such a way that you are dragging our eyes around your build and drinking in all the details. I mean I see 3 5/5 freebuilds here at least. So perfectly SW and just even beyond that a very visually pleasing build. The story on its own is good enough, but then when you add in the build it really is a masterpiece. Makes me anxious to see the next chapter. BEAVeR could probably write 3 pages worth of comments on this and it wouldn't be enough.
  17. Very nice interior build. Lots of stuff in a small space. Supported!
  18. Hey, welcome to SoNE (rebel scum). For the pictures, I suggest signing up for Flickr or one of the other various photohosting sites so you can avoid the 100kb limit. That first picture has major compression going on! The story is very brief, you may want to expand on it a bit more. Why would they desert with their armor instead of just going back to their normal lives? The more you flesh it out the more immersed people get in it. I like the speeder you designed, looks like something the rebels might have. You may want to add some color to it though since it appears very Empire in appearance. The guard shack looks to have some detailing on the outer walls, but because of the one photo we can't really see what the details are. I think it is a couple 1x1 tiles and a 1x1 round tile? As I said to James Wellington, one thing I've found helpful is to go to Watto's Junkyard and look at the past builds. If you read the comments (especially from Beaver) you'll get a good sense of what works, what doesn't work as well, etc. Learn from the work of others. Oh and for background I suggest if you don't have a large white piece of paper to try a plain white sheet.
  19. First off, welcome to SoNE. I'm quite new myself so I'm sure some of the more experienced builders will chime in later with their thoughts too. I like the story, helps establish your character. A couple things on the photos is they are all pretty dark, and as a result the camera is trying to compensate but it is ending up grainy. I noticed in a few you had a bright light in one part of the picture and it quickly became dark which means the light source was probably quite close. The best is to have a lot of natural sunlight but that isn't always possible. If you can't get that your best bet is to have multiple lights from different directions so you don't get harsh shadows. Your pictures are also REALLY tight on the minifigs, which makes it hard to see if they are just standing on a gray plate or if there is a scene there. For instance: https://www.flickr.c...07/15710443303/ that one has some detail in the railing and the control station but because it is framed so tightly you really can't see much of the build. One thing I've found helpful is to go to Watto's Junkyard and look at the past builds. If you read the comments (especially from Beaver) you'll get a good sense of what works, what doesn't work as well, etc. One minor realism point: a sergeant is enlisted and therefore wouldn't be called sir, that is for officers. Generally speaking if you called a sergeant "sir" they would tell you to never call them that, they work for a living. I look forward to the ongoing adventures of your character and I'm glad to have another builder for the right team!
  20. Yeah, I was questioning using the clone armor; because I wanted to make it clear he was the lieutenant I decided to go with the clone armor over the generic stormtrooper armor. I know it isn't ideal. Sadly I just have regular stormtroopers or 2 different clone troopers (the helmet on this one looked more like the normal stormtrooper which is why I selected him). Thanks for the feedback!
  21. Since my freebuild involves being nice to rebels, figured I'd post about it in here too: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104855
  22. A lot packed into a little scene! There are a ton of great features and suits the room very well having things be stowed and then used only when needed. Good story and the interaction between the characters is nice also. One minor point: a sergeant is enlisted and therefore wouldn't be called sir, that is for officers. Generally speaking if you called a sergeant "sir" they would tell you to never call them that, they work for a living.
  23. Whoa is that thing massive. The pics with the minifig really put it into perspective. Reminds me of Crocodile Dundee ... "That's not a locomotive, THIS is a locomotive!"
  24. Nice pics Jamil, they really give it the sense of scale that such a large ship possesses.
  25. Posted my 4th freebuild of the episode: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104855
