All money to Bob. Also, Octan wishes to announce the technological breakthrough of Awesomnium Plating. An achievement that wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication of our employees.

1950's OCTAN gas station with retro tanker truck - 8487 MOD
Kodan Black replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Town
Definitely all has a 50's vibe to it, would love to see how it looks in real bricks. I think part of what is throwing me off in the renders is that it looks like it is mostly in light gray instead of white. The truck looks really nice also. The one thing that might prove an issue is that cars of that era were quite sizeable and I'm not sure the pumps are far enough apart. But you've done a great job capturing the feeling! -
I like the mix of old and new parts on the tractor. And the flying chair seems suitably wacky for the prof!

I agree, the tracks in the sand are great. Has Eshey ever met an alien she didn't want to kill? Will we see a return of Hombre?

The cave is excellent and it took me a minute to notice that her "explosion" took out the one rock pillar thing. I'm always a sucker for CLAPPIE! I really like the glow in the dark pics and I also will be stealing your bed design in the future.

I believe you mean incapacitate and not decapitate if they are really peace keepers. Love the design of the walker, nice that it really moves. I think the limited color palette gives more punch to the white and the transblue.

I'm not saying I'm going to steal that bottle thing on the stretcher, but ... I'm not saying I won't. I like the medical landing area, a couple greebles behind the containers at right would have fleshed it out a bit more, but as someone who appreciates the clean aesthetic I always struggle to find the balance between the two. Are those tooth marks on that 1x2 brick?

Hey, did you guys forget AG is still going on?
-
Well, on the plus side, my free time would go up from being banned.

1. I don't think so 2. This happens all the time. Helps convey emotion and makes things a bit more real 3. Uhhh, hopefully you get guided in the right direction instead of banned, at least initially.

Future of AG - It's feedback time!
Kodan Black replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Andromeda's Gates
Yeah, as much as I want to be in AG2, I think a couple months off would refresh me. I'm getting my builds done and most weeks have inspiration, but there are weeks I'm trying very hard to come up with something. Plus I still have about 15-20 boxed sets to open and build that I haven't had time for. Luckily they are hidden in the closet mostly so my wife hasn't noticed. -
Gadzooks that ship! And the cranes with the floor system to roll it out! OMG! Beautiful and so well thought out. Clearly double weeks is the way to go! So many cool details and greebling. Plus the figure posing is spot on. Fantastic!

Hmmm, I was sure I had commented on this one. Well, love the hangar! Your cool microship was part of the inspiration for my build this week. I see so many cool ships and wanted to do a couple myself! Love the writing too, as usual.

No, definitely not. But maybe by recycling it you get some +1 bonus for having established it or something. It just feels like the incentive to build big isn't there as much if you get one 6 out of it or build small and keep getting 3 or 4s. I don't think you should keep getting the major benefit of it each week, but maybe some story continuity bonus or something. Even a sliding scale that if you recycle a 6-7 scored ship it scores out at a 2 the next week. A 4-5 scores out at a 1 the next week. Anything 4 and below scores a 0. So that a 6 this week gets me 2pts next week and 0 after. Something like that which would let people have a story that arcs over a period but isn't forcing them into all new ships each week which kinda makes no sense. -
All cash to Mr Bob!

Location: F03 Forring Tags: Land Vehicle, Civil Building, Spaceship Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // I'd gotten to know the one doctor a bit during my time in the facility, her name was Dr. Norah. She was very smart and had such a caring personality. Her beautiful flowing hair always had a lovely flower in it, further enhancing the floral aroma she always seemed to have. We had talked a lot about my condition and she seemed so concerned for me. It was a constant struggle not to just tell her the truth of who I was! We had gone up to an observation area and looked out over some of the ships parked on the spaceport tarmac. There were many smaller vehicles attending to a pair of massive ships like ants dancing around much larger creatures. There was also one very large replenishment vehicle that dwarfed the rest and was using a crane to load cargo. Dr. Norah asked me about the ship on the right getting replenished and if I recognized it. Fortunately before leaving Octan space I had seen a report about the ship from a recent intel gathering mission. I said: "It is the James May I think." She smiled and said "I guess not all of your memory is gone!" I warmed at her being pleased and was glad that I'd seen that intel! She then asked me about the other ship which I had never seen before. Somehow I felt like I knew the name though and replied: "The Archimantis?" She quickly asked and her captain? I startled myself when I answered "Razvan Tincu." She beamed at me and said "Yes, as of last week." I couldn't figure out how I could possibly know that. I'd never seen the ship before and certainly couldn't know the name of the captain if he had only been installed during the time period I was within Mantis' care. Dr. Norah reassuringly praised me and changed the subject to more mundane matters. I felt more confused than ever and still had questions about what this medical facility was really for. I knew that the stealth ship would have jumped into orbit above the planet, using my tracking implant to find me. But I wasn't sure if I needed to escape and if so how I even would. I also wondered if it would be possible to convince Dr. Norah to come with me. Beyond being a radiant woman, she was clearly very smart! She could greatly help Octan and I would be thrilled to spend my days working with her. Additional:

Except Mantis has a reasonable lead in total resources and in the recent past has had the most active builders. Pick whatever corp you want, all 3 are fairly equal in terms of footing, 1 builder more for any of the corps won't upset the balance of the game.

I wonder if we could figure out a way to recycle parts of the build since like pombe I struggle with continuity when I have to build new buildings, vehicles, ships, etc. each week. It makes it really hard to have someone be at the same place but you can't make it look too similar or you get no points. Maybe have it count in some way for like DP but not resources or you can re-use it up to X times. Something like that makes it nice for telling a story that is multiweek without it looking kinda disjointed. -

I've used various alien races during my time in AG and I do wish I could have more wholly fleshed them out. I think the need to bounce around to different planets made it more challenging. I probably painted myself into a corner some by localizing them instead of having them be part of a galaxy-wide entity. Hopefully in AG2 I can learn from my mistakes in AG1 and also build better. -
What a lovely and detailed cockpit! As usual your vessel has wonderful and sleek shaping. As someone who struggles with making non-symmetrical designs, I have to say I appreciate the minor variance. Certainly looks the part of a fast and agile fighter!

The blood effect down the pillars is beautiful. I like the nods in the naming of the droids!

Location: F03 Forring Tags: Land Vehicle, Civil Building, Spying Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // I drifted in consciousness and heard vague voices nearby. I knew that I was in an unfamiliar location somehow. It just didn't feel quite right. The voices were female and talking about mundane work things. I knew if I was being monitored I couldn't fake being unconscious, that is the stuff of movies. As I began to stir the one voice said: "Hey, he's coming to." The other voice said "vitals stable" and I could tell she was next to where I was laying. My mind struggled to think back as far as I could to try and begin putting pieces together. Where was I last? What had I been doing? Was I on Farmolis? The Axle? As I opened my eyes I could tell I wasn't anywhere that I recognized. But I still couldn't think to where I should be. The one woman asked for my name, but since I didn't know where I was I decided to use my confusion to my advantage and just act hazy. "Whu... uh... where am I?" The two women exchanged a brief glance that I managed to catch. "In a medical facility. How do you feel?" It was clear we would be playing a bit of cat and mouse, they didn't want to give anything away either. "Confused. Bit of a headache. I ... I can't remember things. What happened?" I tried to fish for information. "Well, you accessed a research facility and were exposed to some significant energy. We weren't sure what the effects would be. Luckily you seem to have avoided any serious damage that we can detect right now." Guinevere. That is where I had been, so I must be in a Kawa facility, but ... it didn't feel right. Not that I had been in a Kawa hospital, but this seemed wrong. It clearly wasn't Octan or the DNA scan would have given them all my info instantly. "Energy? Like electricity?" I asked. "No, no, not electricity. It was something else, more, um, other kind." the one closest to me answered. "Other energy." They again glanced at each other. I could tell they were skirting something. I decided to gamble and hope that my gut was right. "But you got to me first, right? Before the Kawas?" They looked visibly relieved at that and both smiled before the one said "Of course. We had to get you out of there while still keeping the facility secret." As I sat up it occurred to me that this wasn't a facility like I had been in before. Although something seemed familiar - like there was something just out of reach in the back of my head. Where was I? It seemed to be a Mantis facility, but why? And where? Was I still on Guinevere? Suspecting that I was with Mantis helped me some, any bit of info was useful! But I was in one of their facilities and really had no idea what was going on. I was at constant risk and though I was trying to take note of everything around me I wasn't sure if it was more for spying or self preservation. Overall shot:

I love Jo! He is another in a long line of side characters that I feel could have entire builds that go into their story. The bed is awesome and the geyser is really well done too! Nice to see you back in the AG forum!

Bob, once the money clears from the transfers above we would please like a Pirate Hat for our recently revived compatriot Goatman.
