LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion
telaruhn replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I usually open the whole series, and then get copies of my favorites to leave unopened for resale or for gifts. I did this for Series 15 and Disney, but not for Series 14, in which I opened all the ones I bought. I would ideally like to buy a whole case of 60, but I don't mind buying them a few at a time... I feel like I'm more engaged if I'm in a store feeling the packets for the ones I want. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion

The new part count is on par with previous series, at fourteen or fifteen: Ice Queen's crown and cape Imp's horn-cap and tail Hiker's backpack Wildlife Photographer's penguin Scalawag Pirate's bandana Penguin Suit Guy's mask Rogue's hood Dog Show Contestant's hair and dog Serenader's guitar Spy's hair and googles (if it's two separate parts, which I think it is) Banana Man's costume I also like to give the benefit of the doubt to pieces that were recently released, like the Ice Queen's hand-orbs and the Babysitter's baby (which is two parts with the head + body), bringing the total new part count to eighteen, should you choose to include those. As usual, around 30% of the figures don't have a new part, and potentially four of them have two new parts. This time around, it's the Arabian Knight, Cyborg, Spooky Boy, Kickboxer Girl, and the Babysitter (if you don't consider her baby as new) that are made up entirely of existing pieces. -

He could actually be a contestant. The bone in the pocket feels like it's a treat for his dog when it walks or poses properly during judging... -

Someone has mentioned this, but the Ice Queen has pieces that encapsulate her hands and connect to the elemental blades. I must admit, it really shows off her icy technique very impressively, making it so you don't always have to use the blades, like during times she's controlling ice and snow that's already been created. I think the Rogue's left arm is dual-colored... as if the brown part on his torso went over his shoulder. The hand on that arm is also yellow. Not sure I like the asymmetry, but I'll have to get a better look to give a real critique. However, it does emulate real-life archers, who have a glove on the arrow hand and a wristguard on the bow hand (though I don't think they've ever printed on the underside of the arms, so not sure if there's wristguard printing) The Spy also looks to have a neck attachment... for something. It's too flat against his back to tell what it is. A jetpack maybe?? black version of the Skydiver backpack? -

Ice Queen: WOW, she is decked out. It is disappointing that she doesn't use the Queen's dress piece. Looks like her crown is new, though. Arabian Knight: Nice prints all around, especially the face, but I'm not too keen on the colors. Cyborg: Nice prints again! Totally called the use of the blaster, which doesn't bother me, really. I might change the little translucent piece to match her color scheme. Imp: Cute! The black trident is a nice surprise. OH my GOD is that a tail piece above the number too!? now THAT is the best figure in the series! Spooky Boy: Also cute and great printing! not sure I like the face, though. Hiker: I'm quite surprised by him. He has nice prints, too. Wildlife Photographer: That penguin is dang cute! Interesting colors... Kickboxer Girl: While I'm disappointed by the red gloves, as I expected a new color, she is very cool. I also hope for a beat-up face print on the other side of her head. Scalawag Pirate: Love that tattoo on his arm. I'm surprised they included a map! Penguin Suit Guy: Cute! AND he has skates! Rogue: He's awesome, definitely an army builder for sure. Dog Show Judge: Love the dog. The trophy is meh, but I do appreciate it printed and in a not-so-common color. Serenader: Love the guitar, as expected. A nice figure overall. Spy: cool mask/hairpiece! I wonder how it all fits together.... Black rope is also useful Banana Man: Wacky as usual! Babysitter: Looks great, glad they included a baby bottle. So for me, My favorites are: Ice Queen Cyborg Imp Penguin Suit Guy Rogue Serenader Banana Man Best Series in a while!! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
telaruhn replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
For the Goblin, I usually feel for his pointy hat-and-ears piece. I have also identified him before by finding his brown sack, which kind of feels like a slightly larger minifigure head, but with an irregular bump on top where the hand grip is located. The sword he has is the widest sword of the five that appear in Series 13, but I would be careful because I have mixed that up with the Egyptian Warrior's sword. To that end, it also helps to know what the unique pieces of other minifigures feel like in the bag in addition to the Goblin's. Hope this helps, and good luck finding the Goblin! -

I think Peter Pan's legs look great on the Snake Charmer, and Alice's hair looks great on the Pretzel Girl... And Captain Hook's hat/hair looks great for female figures - I'm really glad he didn't have a molded head!- 4,155 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion

Galadriel's cape from the Witch-King Battle set is what comes to mind when I think of the cape for the Ice Queen, but I hope there's a bit more of a bluish-silver to it then just regular silver. That, or the white for the cape is actually Light Aqua. Either way, the textile for Galadriel's cape does not fray, thankfully. I'm starting to really like the Rogue. I know a lot of people expected different colors or different weapons, but the character still has the same gist to him - a sneaky, hooded figure. The colors are IMO fantastic, because similar to the Cyborg and Laser Mech, the colors match of the Rogue match those of the Frightening Knight, though one is a light-armored figure and the other is heavy-armored. I hope the Rogue comes with dual-colored legs... I can't quite tell if he comes with a short bow or longbow, but either is fine with me. I had to laugh, though - someone was sure the Rogue was actually the Arabian Knight "Archer..." when there's nothing remotely Arabian about him! -
Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion

That's the point I was trying to make, hence why I said minidoll haha :P For what it's worth, it feels like Belle's Castle comes with some inretesting colors, like those light green doors on Madame Bouche, but I'm disappointed by the set for two reasons: 1) the rose is not a unique new mold, and 2) as others have said, I'm not a fan of how much detail the set relies on with stickers. -
This is a pretty interesting series, even though I'm not much of a football fan. At minimum, I'd like to get the coach for his parts, but I'll likely wait till he's more available on the secondary market, since this series is not available in the US...

I think LEGO threw film accuracy out the window by using a minidoll... Despite that, I don't mind the use of Faun legs for Beast, except for the toe printing, which is decidedly more horse-like or goat-like instead of Beast-like. Even if it is less detailed, he might also look good with the S14 Square Foot legs... -

I agree! Considering the S6 Intergalactic Girl, who came with hair and a helmet, it seems possible we could get both with the Cyborg... -

Seems likely, but if she has nice printing on her legs, I'd be more apt to get a bunch if her legs were normal... So it feels like a double-edged sword were it to be included. Also - her color scheme is nearly the same and the Laser Mech's, which is pretty fantastic. Too bad we don't get a black helmet to match the armor... -

For the Cyborg, I wonder about a few things... 1. With her reusing the Galaxy Trooper armor, will she be shafted of torso printing like the Series 13 figure? 2. Her gun... is it new? The angle of it on the blind bag photo makes it hard to discern. Part of me thinks it's the blaster from the Galaxy Trooper as well, with the added bonus of that trans-orange 1x1 round plate with hole at the end. I tried it on one of my blasters and it works pretty well, but it may make for a ho-hum weapon for those that already have plenty of that weapon. 3. What else about her is robotic other than her face? It doesn't look like she has a robot arm, so maybe she has a cybernetic leg? -

The Target near me has been restocked with Disney Minifigures, so I'm thinking the rumor about all the stock after the initial boxes going to Disney parks is false. Someone has already said they are there, but I doubt that ALL of them will end up there... I feel like that would be so many boxes in so few places... Needless to say, feeling for this series isn't bad at all. Mickey is pretty easy; if you find the head first, shake the bag. Minnie's skirt makes a pretty distinctive sound when it hits other pieces, so if you have Mickey you won't hear it in the bag. Donald/Daisy are probably the hardest as the only different accessory between the two is quite small. And maybe Aladdin/Genie as well considering they both have a lamp- 4,155 replies

Based the distribution of figures in Series 15, I'm betting (and hoping) on a box distribution for Series 16 that is similar to this: 5 per box: Banana Man, Penguin Suit Guy, Scallawag Pirate 4 per box: Arabian Knight, Hiker, Rogue, Serenader, Spooky Boy, Spy 3 per box: Babysitter, Cyborg, Dog Show Judge, Ice Queen, Imp, Kickboxer Girl, Wildlife Photographer -

Interesting... I was wondering what color the Banana Man's pants were going to be (looks like Medium Azure, like the Genie Girl's tail)... And as expected, all the detail goes into the banana suit. My excitement for this series is building! -

Maybe the Spooky Boy's accessory is a new variation (or maybe 2) of the potion flask? Still waiting on a trans-red one... Are you referring to the same hairpiece that's on some of the German Football Series figures? -

I was wondering this as well... I'm still finding the Disney figures in stores near me and it's the first time I'm seeing them in each place. It's still quite early since the official release, so we may have to wait until stores are restocked to know for sure. A lot of places I went to also had plenty of Series 15, so it's possible that those stores are waiting until that stock dwindles. Maybe the distribution of Minifigures at the Disney parks won't happen until later in the season (July?)- 4,155 replies

These are exactly my thoughts. He could have a gadget of some sort, but I can't think of anything in particular at the moment... A pistol seems unlikely as LEGO does not produce contemporary firearms: everything is either historical muskets, flintocks, rifles, and revolvers, or space-age blasters and rayguns... If the Dog Show Judge is male, he'll likely come in a suit, so how different will that one be in comparison to the Spy's? -

Also, on that picture, the small bags don't have the choking warning on the front of them like the ones I have. Are these from Europe or somewhere else? And that brings into question what is required on packaging based on the region the figures released in...
