LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion
telaruhn replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Fair enough. I understand your liking for his reviews, because they really are great, and get better with each one. Truth be told, I've always wanted to do a CMF review since I joined the site, but it would never be on the level of WhiteFang's. Meaning, I don't own a whole box or a wealth of figures to pair up. But I guess that really shouldn't deter me from doing one... -

Is WhiteFang the only user allowed to make CMF reviews? -
I'm liking Series C! My favorites are the Country Music Singer, Moon Goddess, Dragon Trainer, and Bearded Lady. The Evil Queen simply reeks of Once Upon A Time...

I think he means they don't have to buy the product to scan the content I mean is it that big a deal? How many people really use that app anyway? Will it affect their sale of the products? Probably not. Couldn't they just bring their tablet/mobile device into the store and scan the shields that are on the boxes?

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

Black and Red Samurai!? While I'm not much of a Ninjago fan, I do appreciate what they have given us in terms of parts. That being said, I am seriously hoping to get a matching helmet for a certain CMF Samurai... Fingers crossed! Thanks for the info! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I think the popularity is there for 16 costumed figures, but I think that also ruins their charm. IMO having a few every series makes them more intriguing. Series 16 was right on the cusp of having too many costumes. I think 3 is the max per regular series: 1 animal suit, 1 food suit, and 1 miscellaneous. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion

So the 5 figures I ordered off the TRU website came in today. Haven't opened them yet, but I felt two Pirates, a Rogue, a Cute Little Devil, and an Ice Queen. Not a bad haul, honestly, since the latter three are some of my favorites from Series 16! I'm probably the least impressed with the Pirates, but I'll make it work. He'll mix well with the other pirates I have, and like many figures it the series, he has great printing... -

I have a feeling that the batsuit variants in this upcoming CMF series will be very wacky. That being said, I like this speedo donning variant, though I'm not sure how the goggles can go over the mask unless it's not showing up as a part... I really want that ducky inflatable tube! Looks and sounds like a promising new part, along with the lobster... I'm hoping both make their way into physical form. -

I meant that the Rogue has back printing and a neck accessory that obscures the back. It feels like that was never the case with CMFs until now - if they had something that covers their back, then they weren't a candidate for back printing. While I forgot the Bandit, his bandana doesn't cover his back that much compared to other neck accessories like capes, some armors, neck brackets, or quivers. -

After spending some time with this Series, I have some additional remarks: The Ice Queen's cape and collar are the same pattern and material as Galadriel's cape from the Hobbit Witch-king Battle set. I thought I recognized it... Maybe they had leftover fabric?? The Desert Warrior's golden bracers are generic enough to look great on a lot of different figures, from the S13 Egyptian Warrior to the S15 Flying Warrior to the S7 Ocean King... Basically anyone with bare yellow arms and a golden weapon would benefit from the gold-bracer arms. Also, IMO he looks way better with the Snake Charmer's white turban, just as I suspected... Even though Spooky Boy doesn't evoke any sort of classical horror feeling like Spooky Girl does, I think he's still a fantastic figure. Because I didn't like the fact that his hair was the same as the Cyborg's, I decided to try some other black hairpieces and ended up using the S8 DJ hairpiece. Now he's listening to his spooky music :) Taken as a sum of its parts, Penguin Boy might be the most System-incompatible minfigure TLG has ever designed - because of the flipper arms, short legs (preventing anything from being attached to the back of the legs, like normal legs), and ice skates... There's no way you can attach him to anything the way he is, without using extra parts... I know I said I HATED the dual-mold arm on the Rogue, but I don't mind it so much in the flesh now that I can see all the dark red on his torso. It's not that distracting IMO. And to my knowledge, he's the first CMF to have back printing and a neck accessory together on the same figure. The Mariachi is yet another black-outfitted musician with a new instrument, following the S7 Bagpiper, S11 Saxophone Player, and S12 Rock Star... Not that I'm complaining. Bring on the instruments! I had Banana Guy try on the Lizard Man's legs to match his shirt, then tried him with Clumsy Guy's shirt to match his legs... I like both outfits but ended up giving him the blue outfit in the end. Oh, and I gave him a banana to hold! -

Place a black 2x1 jumper plate on a minifigure baseplate and put the Penguin Boy on top of that. The height disparity isn't as notice able since he has short legs... -

It's not just you. I think the produce sticker adds a lot of personality to Banana Guy. If anything, I wish the produce sticker was a bit bigger, like it looks on the CGI... But as usual with that kind of printing, it's always smaller than how it appears in renders... -

I believe the color is Medium Lavender. The Babysitter's upper arms are the same color as the torso of the mom from the Fun in the Park set. I've already modded my babysitter with that torso, since I don't really like the shirt she comes with. It's a nice substitute. Some other CMFs with that color torso include the Disco Diva, Fairytale Princess, and Downhill Skier. -

The listing on S@H is updated with the official photo. Not quite hi-res, but at least the colors are better! -

Interesting that you mention that - ACPin's Rogue Brotherhood MOC on the Historic forum has 15 of the Rogue figures in it, and he mentioned that his lego store put out 3 full boxes, so it makes sense that there's 5 Rogues per box. A much better alternative to 5 Desert Warriors. -

Is there a better photo of the Series 16 figures than the one that's on the TRU website? It's not particularly high-res or true-to-color, but... There are a couple of interesting features with that photo, namely: 1) none of the figures are holding accessories in their hands, 2) the Spy doesn't appear to have his pistol, suggesting it was a last-minute addition, and 3) the Penguin Boy is wearing his skates while on the baseplate, suggesting he's simply resting on top of the center two studs. I noticed on the packet photo that the Ice Queen was never supposed to use the new dress piece, but the ice blade she's holding sure made it look like it... And that's why her hand/arm looked weird in the very first photo of the packet... -

Series 16 is now available on the US S@H website, but with no official images... Interesting to note that the Disney Series is "temporarily out of stock." Perhaps there was truth to the notion that they are re-releasing the Disney figures to coincide with the D2C Disney Castle. -

Found them today at my local TRU, after checking it only a few days ago... they were available for in store pickup on the website, so I called ahead to make sure. The associate I talked to mentioned the September 1st date on the box, but after I mentioned other TRUs breaking street date and the fact they were available for the in store pickup, he talked to a manager and got the okay to put them out. Went there immediately after and got a whole set from the fresh box... They're pretty amazing! My favorites are the Ice Queen, Cute Little Devil, Rogue, Cyborg, Banana Guy, Spooky Boy, Mariachi, Desert Warrior, Spy, Hiker, and Penguin Boy. And as for the five I bought online, I'm still excited to get them. After seeing a whole series in the flesh, there isn't one figure I wouldn't mind getting a couple of... -

No luck after looking at 2 Targets, a Walmart and a TRU in my area. So, having been emptyhanded, I caved and bought some off the TRU website. The first time I've bought them randomly... ever. They had a limit of 5 per customer, which is actually okay considering there was free shipping with orders over $19 and the total was $19.95 for 5 of them. Basically, you get 5 for the same price as going in store. Not bad... As if the offer was made for that reason. After the last couple of series, I've found that I don't mind doubles. There are a lot in this series I wouldn't mind getting multiple of. Can't wait to get them! -

I love hearing everyone's hauls! And I'm seeing some great mods, too. Gives me ideas for my own mods... I'm still out of luck right now, though I've only checked a Target. The associate I talked to insisted that all they had was Disney, but it sounded to me like he just didn't want to do his job and check in the back, even when I explained to him that all the series use the same DPCI... Ah well. I also called a TRU and gave them the item number (510414), but the girl on the phone simply said "we don't have any." That was a few days ago... I'm going to be in that area tomorrow, so maybe I'll go there in person... -

Maybe the Samurai bun would work? Granted, it's not a ponytail, but I'm not sure how much leeway the backpack provides. I'm sure not many female hairpieces are compatible with it... -

I think the Cyborg's torso is bare, unfortunately... I'm still not a fan of the Babysitter's shirt. I plan on switching it with the mother's torso from the Fun in the Park set, while keeping the short sleeves... -
