The drawings were very good, ah well if they are gone, I guess they are imprinted in my brain somewhere... not entirely sure what i think of this new theme. Personally its not for me and I don't think I'll be getting any, but I am still very curious :-)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
BrickOn replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I finally picked up a Wacky Witch and Werewolf yesterday (and another gargoyle for my collection and plant guy for the other half) , now I am only missing the mad scientist :-) It was interesting to compare the legs of the witch and the legs of Spooky girl... very similar designs, but the witch's seem to be executed so much better! -
So I was thinking of attending the Birmingham event, what should I expect...?

How closely does it resemble the Ideas project?
-
Awesome do you fancy drawing it for us? :-p And is it just the ideas set that you can see? If you read the last 10 pages or so of the Castle 2016 topic you will see that some people have access to a retailer preliminary catalog and are describing some of the new sets... I guess this means we will definitely get before Christmas?

So this is now a wish list post? Awesome, in 2016, I wish for: a big soldiers' fort something double the size of the current sets; a smaller ship for the bluecoats, in ship in white please; and a smaller pirate ship, for the Governor's daughter (well it said she wanted one in her bio! Plus she can have an outfit change); then I would like some small minifigures sets of soldiers, A return of the islanders with a medium island set and a few little ones... And I am wishing really hard for all of this plus outside of pirates I would like to see a redcoat/bluecoat minifigure in the CMF series with black boots and white breeches and just generally being kinda cool etc And maybe captain hook with some disney pirate stuff...

Hee hee a lot of mixed reactions then... I have had few more people visit since starting this post... I guess I am secretly hoping visitors will bring me Lego, especially the ones coming via Denmark (but unless they know I collect Lego I guess this is unlikely, I will tell more people). Not too many kids visit me at the moment... So it mostly adults and from my recent guest I got, the usual "wow a lot of Lego, I had had a lot when I was a kid" and for the minifigures I got some "wow so cute" and "we were looking at Lego in the shops today, they sell keychains". When one friend walked through the door his immediate reaction was "woah I feel out numbered AND they have the higher ground!" - I suppose he felt the minifigures could surge down from the rafters and engulf him if they decided to attack... He has a point that would be terrifying!

Thanks, I like the gargoyles too, tried a few different way to get them up there, I may need some more to mess around with, it was fun! Haha and maybe I will, especially as I had to demolish my only castle set to make this (well the only building) and now all my previous castle dwellers are homeless and need somewhere to live...

Cool tavern, I really like the mage's quarters upstairs... (or is that up the chain?) Its not the nicest part of the scene... maybe its just resting there for a nap... and hopefully the spider won't get him.

Avatar (profile picture) issues
BrickOn replied to Nikola Bathory's topic in Forum Information and Help
Help please! I was trying to update my avatar (and I deleted my old one in the process)... I know it has to be 100kb max and for some reason no matter how small I make the image in photoshop specifying starting pixels resolution, size and all of that stuff... when I come to save it as a jpeg it always ends up 600 and something kb... So I scrapped that plan and uploaded my new intended pic to my flickr account and tried to link the URL using the second method mentioned in the Flickr tutorial, selecting an appropriately sized image, and then after that didn't work I picked the smallest 75x75 each time they told me it was to big... how can it be on the thumbnail setting? I tried to read all the help forum and wondered if I have somehow used up all my picture space somewhere, but I don't think I have posted anything else and now my orignal avatar pic is gone too... So now I am avatarless... If it helps I can get the picture into the thread and it looks tiny enough to me... EDIT: Nevermind I have have fixed it I think -
This is my first attempt at a castle-themed MOC... I had to try and build something with the new CMF gargoyles :-) So here it is, my tower is perched on a Rocky cave in the middle of nowhere. It is home to a very strange bunch of beings... WholeTowerMOC on Flickr Creepy Wizard's Lair: the tower itself belongs to a creepy wizard who keeps his various potions and magic books in his lair. WizardLair on Flickr Princess's Room: above a princess is trapped in a very purple room (she does not seem to mind being trapped, she like all the purple and pink and the view is not bad either, or maybe she just has a plan to escape). And above lives the Spectre, he does not really bother anyone else in the tower and just wafts around doing his own thing. IMG_8790 on Flickr The Goblin's hide-out: finally at the bottom live the goblin who is generally in charge of everything when the wizard is away. dungeon on Flickr All comments and criticism welcome, I am pretty new to this and keen to learn, hope you like

Hee hee hee I was very intrigued by the title and the build does not disappoint, I like the brain gold combo, what else would a zombie pirate be after?! And it seems he has at least found one victim with enough of the grey stuff to keep him happy :-)
-
Hee hee, well Borreo does not look too upset at the dinner arrangements! I like his expression :-)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
BrickOn replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I do hope you're right about satyr, I would really like one :-) I just did not realise the goblin headpiece had been used before. When did tribal girl get rumored/hinted at? I'd be very happy with her :-) -
These are truly awesome! I really like the use if the golden goblets as decorations. All three ships are stunning :-)

Who else here is into all sorts of themes?
BrickOn replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yep these... But I only bought the castle theme because when I started collecting again there were no pirates out and I just thought they looked cool. Otherwise I agreed with my other half that I have to stick to a theme and collect that (obviously I can buy parts for MOCs) and I was limited to pirates... But we also agreed WV is cool... So that's in and then the detective agency got bought, so modulars are allowed too... And apparently western is allowed... And Lego Movie is kind of allowed and also Lego ideas sets. I argued that it makes sense to collect some DC/Marvel to go with TBBT, but so far that has been vetoed.. We'll see, creator sets appears to be allowed too... Tbh if I want something I'll buy it but I do like playing the game of only getting certain themes for now. -
True and I am in peril anyway since I started my collection when Simpsons 1 were on the shelves (my mum once bought be a series 11 yeti instead of chocolate, but this was a couple years before I came out of the dark age and it was not quite enough to hook me in), so I am picking up a lot retrospectively anyways. Oooo true... although he could do with losing some clothes... also if you had three piggy guys, he could kinda be the big bad wolf in the three little pigs...

What could be in a Mythology series of CMFs?
BrickOn replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
To me she just looks like a friend I had in school... actually she is still a friend and still wears mostly black and white and likes things with skulls on... -
I really like it. Good substitutions. Don't fancy the captives chances, based on the skeleton. Will you swap the two red flags for blue ones when you change to bluecoat flag, I think that's the only change I would be tempted to make.
-
I like the ship section idea, very neat! Hopefully they won't have to use their cannon, because I don't think the cannon balls will fit ;-p I think your shark will help polish him off, he's a gonna!

Nice I really like the non-right angled idea. I'm interested to see how this progresses :-) Will the inside of the bakery still be accessible when you have it fixed in place or will you have to lift it out of the model to open it?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion

Why is it not reusing the goblin's head piece... Yellow pointy ears, cheery, happy colour for the hat and you have yourself a pixie hat Didn't see this before, but I agree! -

Well the game stats read Anansi Girl... So they are stating right there that she is not Anansi exactly because she's female... Doesn't seem that odd to me, it fits with the character they made. I wouldn't assume you were sexist for not liking it or whatever, but tbh it's only a character bio... In your Lego world she does not have to have any real like to mythology, she can just be an ordinary emo girl?
