Everyone has their own approach, but I can share my solution with you. First of all you need to remove the two long plates at the bottom of the "head" and leave an open space just behind the controls. Place shorter plates or bricks at the front and back. After that place jumpers like this pic: You have to make the side plates thinner removing the extra layer of plates in the inner side, I took the 5x1 plates that were originally in the sides to make the seats. Put the seats on top of the jumpers and voila!
-
Yes, that is a good idea.

I'm glad my fail inspired you. Now I have to order a couple of those slopes and copy your hip plates as they look awesome!
-
I am failing to find a solution for that. I thought about robot arms at the end of the 3L bar to hold another bar in front of the hip and then... I'm stuck. I don't know what piece/s could work to resemble armour plates. I will share this picture of my failed attemp just in case somebody could develope a working plate based on it. Edit: The pieces for the original eyelids doesn't look too bad, but they are square, not curved.
-
I checked some pictures of movie models online and you are totally right. I used discs and round plates to give the impression of several gears below the chin cannons. In addition, I was not satisifed with the flags as eyelids, they look great in the pictures but in person I found them too big. They are supposed to cover just the "eyes" so the square flags should be 1x2. I used hinged plates and I like the look more. Bad thing is they have studs, but this Lego so they don't bother me. At least this solution is more accurate than the original eyelids. I'm having a lot of fun with this thread and the continuos improvements. I love this forum.

Well, noy only it's possible, it looks fantastic and the gap between the side plates is almost closed. I will keep the face this way, thanks for the idea! They work great indeed!

Thank you very much guys for sharing your modifications, especially Bley Harvest, LilMe and Woodat for the pictures. I think it's a good moment to share my own mods. I have shameless copied some of yours but I have also find some solutions that may be interesting for somebody. In that case please use them, or let me know if you need some more detailed pictures. These are some quick shots just after I finished building the little chicken. I started last night and stopped following the instructions around bag 2. General view. I have added some plates, removed the hammers which hold the side weapons and put 3L bars instead, removed spring shooters and extended the "chin", and completed the railing on top. Nothing complicated. Inside view. I just had to add the second driver, it is so obvious that I can't understand why it was not included in the set. I think all of us share this impression. I have put the forward attachments for the side panels back, and changed a LOT of how the interior is constructed just to get a cleaner look. I hate my drivers holding air so I added a steering bar. It was also very important for me that the drivers could actually see through the front windows. I am very happy on how this objective was achieved. I'm sure I will keep modding my AT-ST, but for now I am satisfied. I would like to see more modded chickens so keep this thread alive. Cheers!

Well done! I am waiting my AT—ST to arrive to start modding. I had thought about some of those mods like the 2x4 tile in the center. Great minds think alike. Your eye lids looks great! I think I will copy them as I have the pieces requiered. But my major mod will be to add a second pilot inside. Do you think is feasible?

I purchased AT—ST at Lego S@H and got the FO stormtrooper, but it will be sent on October 24

I am going to BL that new astromech when prices reach a reasonable amount, and maybe some of the new hairs when/if available in Bricks&Pieces. So I am happy with this release.

If this project is little then I wonder how great a big one would look like. Impressive work, I wonder what is below that landing pad. -

Turning Microfighters into Micro-MODS

Thank you! I found those microfigures in some BrickLink store. I had no idea where they came from but I thought they could fit MicroFighters well. I have taken some better pictures.- 11 replies

Bricklinked four more Rebels stormtroopers for my army (no, I don't care about the differences compared with the non—Rebels versions), an AT—ST driver and a bunch of pieces to complete some MODs.

Opinion of Modding / changing / whatever-ing Old sets
PaulPrime replied to Awkwardfryingpan's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Mod it now! Sets are like blank pieces of paper to me, they are just the starting point for something unique. -
Very nice, you have improved the accuracy of the official model, there is no doubt about that. Have you tried to put a bracket like the white one in that position between the two 1x2 technic bricks? Maybe the space is too narrow, I don't know. I tried but if you remove the minifig a nasty gap is showed

I have never been interested in any Imperial Star Destroyer. They always looked to me like a big boring grey triangle. But then I opened this thread and had to change my mind. Sir, you are a true artist.

I loved the previous one, this is the icing on the cake. Now post some instructions or pictures of separate sections, please. I need to build an army of them!! I have already ordered some Mixels just to get the joints. I own the complete Macross series, they are like 32 DVD. Good old sci—fi stuff, only second in my mind to Galaxy Rangers. Oh, the memories.

I was so impressed for all the details and shapes that I didn't even notice the floor, but I agree with La Chupacabra. The only way to slighty improve this already incredible awesome ship would be to add some tiles. Now let me study the pictures for another hour, I need to figure out how you made that cockpit.
-
I got Hoth Attack to complete a bit more my shelf dedicated to the icy planet. It lacks something by itself, but I build a door to be defended, and it doesn't look bad displayed with my AT—AT, custom speeders and additional figures from both sides of the conflict.

The level of cuteness and awesomeness of your creation is so ridiculously high that I want to build an entire fleet of these little fatty mechs. Do you have a part list or instructions of some kind that you could share? Now tell me that the gun is a accurately stored in the belly in plane mode and I will faint.

[MOC] Rey Speeder - Minifig Scale (using #75099)
PaulPrime replied to abyssahx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The shape and position of the pilot is very accurate, but I agree it looks small. This could be an excellent MicroFighter. -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
PaulPrime replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just enter the set number and then scroll down and check the pieces available. I am waiting for my last order to arrive and many parts were still available, like new Vader's helmet or Finn's torso, but Finn's hair was out of stock.
