Thank you, but I don't think they are. The ones in the warship are really large and plastic (I found that set at a garage sale last month ) -

ooh I have a fun idea, if I get some time after the holidays.... *goes off giggling* -
Its all wonderful the brick built pegasus, the wings, I especially like the lime studs on the trees that pull in the colours of the bionicle pieces. It reminds me in a good way of the cover of Anne McCaffrey's book To Ride Pegasus which you've made me remember is over due for a read.

There is an event at the lego stores this month for kids using Life of George. (May 30 and 31st). It is a tournament pitting one kid against another to build an item from Life of George in the fastest most accurate way. The winner moves on, the loser gets a consolation prize and the grand winner at the end of the evening (runs from 5pm to 7) wins the Life of George boxed game. Its quite a bit of waiting but the kids had lots of fun.

Which Lego LOTR Character is your favorite?
Cara replied to Aragorn8713's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
From the pov of the Lego rather than the characters in the book, I love King Theoden's armor and Haldir's printing. Brickset has a gorgeous gallery of them up now here. -
Yes definitely!

True! I've bought a few Friends sets because I liked the build and the parts. But mostly it is the mini-figs that determine if I will buy a set. I generally don't need the parts or if I did it would be cheaper to buy only the parts I needed on bricklink. So its comes down to the figures. If its less than $20 then generally I buy the sets, because if I work on $3 per figure - that I would pay for CMF series - then look at the price that remains I ask myself would I buy that collection of bricks for the remainder, the answer is normally either yes or I can swallow that in order to own the figs. Any bigger sets I do without when it comes to figures or can justify them when they go on sale. The only figures I've bought on bricklink were 3 ish dollars or less, or I'll buy only the torso for MOCing, but it came close with the green princess and black knight from the joust and I have my eye on Poison Ivy. I've been eyeing those up for some months.

I really like this one. Its the off-square angle of the bridge, the snot wall, nice solid base, other things like the eaves on the roof and the pattern on the doors. Good detail for the small size. I don't think you have to have another tone of grey/stone in there but the more detail you put snot-wise on the walls the less you need or want a second colour, sometimes it can be too much clutter.

No, I have to get everything ready for family visiting for the summer now. I might be able to pick between challenge 4 and the modular build, but thats up in the air at the moment. My plan was working from the opposite side of the bridge. Bridge on the right bank on the left, with the buildings on the bridge above - like yours, just the facade but taller, half the arch, stagnant water and debris. Lean-to against the walls of the bridge and shack on the banks with burnt out building above. I'm looking forward to seeing everyones posts for these two mini challenges. -

Oh Kabel! We had exactly the same idea, down to the title! Minus the rat seller. I love that detail in yours. Nice build. -
Love the rat selling =)

I had an idea for a snippet of life in the slums but I highly doubt I will. I'm still trying to tidy up and I have a lot to catch up on that isn't lego. I also doubt I'll be around for challenge IV, probably awol building wise until August time for me. -
I have a first edition Zane if you don't get a second edition one that I would swap. PM me if you like.

At first I thought what is that marbled thing, then I realised it looked like one of the big wheels. I like the arrow slit window feel too.
-
I like the windows, though they remind me of some strangely locking dungeon door that should have an horrific creature behind them.
-
Lovely rugged stone base and the angles that the buildings sit on top of it with the chains to the tower you lose all perception of square bricks and that's what I love.
-
Thank you for the review definitely on my wish list.

I only own DC at the moment and I haven't had any problems with them other than two of my batmans helmets not matching up with the eye printing in the polybag jetski. Had no problems with boxed sets though.
-
Thank you everyone, your comments mean a lot. I was asked how many swords were in the dragon's wings, there are 66 per wing, so 132 total. I was lucky enough not to bricklink any as they came from 22 polybags of the 30080 ninja glider that were both in the newspaper giveaway in the UK and clearanced after halloween last year in the US.

That's a shame. I was looking at this too trying to think what I would wait upon buying until it was released. Oh well, darn!
