  1. I'm back and trying to catch up! I can't say enough how nice it is not to be on a touch pad that tries to auto correct my every typo and board name and that I have to spend three times more time correcting than trying to reply. Its frustrating to even remember. Now to break down the mountain top and clear off my desk, muhahahaha.
  2. Great barracks! I'm impressed with how many free builds you are doing. There are a lot of different textures going on on the outside for me. But the road is great and I love the insides and the handles on the door. I really like the way you did them, I don't recall seeing that before.
  3. Love the clear beneath the white, that's perfectly to how ice melts around a hole
  4. I love that tower in the top section where the brown curves are. Really unusual yet I agree, instantly recognisable as your work! Beautiful as always.
  5. I love seeing everything you are all working upon. I'm still on holiday at the moment and missing my Lego! Hard to add replies on this pad. I will be back a week next Saturday and will do then. In the mean time I have nothing to do but dream up elementals =D
  6. I too regret that I wasn't buying Lego when all these dwarves were released. I would have loved to get this. Thank you for the review!
  7. I need practice getting my background out of focus when its only 2 feet or so behind the moc. That being said I was happy with the composition. No post editting on this except for cropping and the signature. It was taken in the kids paddling pool under a tree in the garden with some dry ice in the water.
  8. I really like that its small and manageable! If someone doesn't have the same grey, no problem, I would think the wall is built from whatever materials are quarried close to that sections location, just stick to the 16x13 dimensions. Although maybe some parts of the wall are higher and we can step up or down accordingly to transition! Some sections might have alternative arrow loops (thinking the 1x2 brick with technic + entry in the middle). Or slight variations. But different towers should be easy to design too. And not take that many bricks or exhaustive time! My one comment would be the lower arches are a good place to hide because of the wall overhang above, but I'm sure we can engineer some murder holes and burning oil ;) I like, a lot.
  9. I adore the front of this. That big window that shows a peek of the activity inside really draws you in. I love the details and colours on the front and side. And I really like that its a corner building without facing diagonally. I don't like the back, all the mixed colours on different levels, but when I see the inside I understand why and the inside works really well. Lots of detail in the wall patterns without having to have fussy furniture. It screams show room to me . I think the double wide walls to get the details on the sides worked better than the single depth back wall. If you pushed everything back one stud to get the double side back wall, then the stairs sit on perimeter and instead of the garden could maybe put a dumpster in the back corner? Interesting how you've removed some of the walls to photograph it. That has made it photograph really well. How does each level attach to the one above it, it all looks like smooth tiles? Definately my favourite so far and those brick build bikes are wonderful.
  10. This is gorgeous. If you have mad skills it doesn't matter what theme you tackle! There are too many wonderful details to list. The Maersk blue was a great choice and that red line around the base sets it off perfectly.
  11. Inspiration struck for a non-Historica idea (I know sacrilege ;) So with my limited summer time I doubt I will be entering Challenge 4. If anyone would like to chat about ideas or WIPs, share photos etc, in a place that isn't open to all guilds and before you might otherwise want to post to the public by all means pm me! I love talking .
  12. Great MOC Lovely diamond pattern, shutters and details. I really like this build.
  13. Well deserved Congratulations! Knowing how much time it takes to build something that sized, that is phenomenal guys. Can't say well done enough! Highly jealous of whomever owns all those aliens legs and looking forward to seeing lots more photos.
  14. I love seeing all of your builds soccerkid6. I have to go and see the video because I want to see that ballista fire I agree with the other comment, the roof is just a little too solid black, at least in a photo. I know black can look different in person. I look forward to seeing what you build next!
  15. Lovely scene as always After seeing you use pen pieces in interesting ways I was looking at them yesterday and saw this yellow piece. Thank you gedren for posting a link to them. I was going to ask how you aquired your beads! Its a shame bricklink doesn't list so many of the beads/pen pieces. And the masked guy raising the yellow shutter honeycomb
  16. Thank you everyone. The support and kind words meant so much. Sometimes this hobby feels very hard, from the way some view it as playing with a toy, to the "hunny, I need to make a brick link order..." I was especially lucky with this MOC that all the arches, transparent clear, blue and black bricks, cheese and round plates came from the brick wall. And that soon after Christmas I picked up a grab bag from there that had the 2x2x1 trans slope in it and which I wondered at the time how am I ever going to use this? Now comes the time to dismantle it so I have room to build the next project my fingers already ache from the thought of removing all that cheese. The dome of the building, chains and parts of the dragon have already been reclaimed by my 6 yr old! I am really looking forward to receiving the joust. I have been drooling over it since it was announced but I rarely buy the expensive sets so don't own it. I the green princess and falcon knight! A big thank you to eurobricks for donating it and for the orc too. Can never have enough orcs and I was in my dark ages when the Kingdoms ones were out. Thanks once again and I look forward to participating more with you all after the summer.
  17. That's fun it fits that orcs could be riding an oversized mean creature of some sort!
  18. I love the Mitgardia style of towers from all of you, all the detailing on them is great. The little touches like the signal fire, the trees and the dwarf make this scene.
  19. What a great build ZCerberus I love the wood above the stone and the tudor-esque windows, feels very authentic. The octagonal shape gives a nice aesthetic.
  20. Theres so many they could do, one set wouldn't be enough. I would hope that there could be a farmyard set, a safari set, a forest set etc. And I only want to buy animals I am not interested in them as part of a bigger set. This has been my problem with the forest rangers set - I would LOVE that bear but I'm not buying a set I don't care for for it, and its expensive on bricklink, though that could be what I do. More of the existing cows/goats/chickens/bears would be really useful too if you could buy them without buying construction sets where they are one item amongst many bricks. My top 5 and this is hard: Rabbit Wolf Deer/Stag/Reindeer type - maybe antlers are new bone type mold at detachable Hawk/raven Sheep ...Elephant - yes I know thats #6 but I can't leave it out But a non-friends version hedgehog, turtle, fox, donkey, giraffe and tiger are really appealing too. In fact most animals are! I would want just about any animal they produce Edit: Agreeing with other - fantasy. That centaur should have already been done when HP was out.
  21. Wonderful! I will pm my characters parts to you. Thank you for doing this it will be nice to see tham all together.
  22. In the Lego store there is a chance it makes it way into the box that ends up as grab bags, however I have seen them sweep the floor and that appeared as if it would be thrown away - fluff bunnies and other debris with the odd pieces. One time (back before they had them in the BAM center) we found a gattling gun on the floor of the Lego store. An employee said oh I see you found the gun. They had seen it on the floor a few times. We asked nicely and they let us have it. While I can't see that happening at walmart or big stores, maybe its worth a shot. Though I could see them saying sorry I can't sell that to you. The one and only time I pointed out to customer service at TRU that they had boxes open in the lego aisle I was treated to suspicious stares and a snide comment that have made me never want to report opened packaging again so that is why I'm voting for walking away.
  23. Santa Clara store has some 1x2 tan palasade bricks new in this week (the curvy fronted bricks). I didn't buy any because I found some last year at a store in southern california but these are sure to go fast.
  24. Well today is my last day before I'm not really here that much until the second week of July. I will try to read the board as and when I can. Have lots of fun with challenge 4 and I look forward to seeing everyone's creations when I return.
  25. If you missed out on those series then I see the appeal. But I have the same problem with these that I do with their minifigure building stations at the LEGO shops (BAM boxes). All the pieces there are from previous CMF series, current they are on series 3 & 4, yet the really wanted one from series 1 and 2 that alot of people missed out on (think zombie/robot/spartan) they never rereleased. I do not get the methodology.
