Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hopefully this will be the last quiet week for a while. Promobricks mentioned potential for an update at the start of April. We'll hopefully get an official reveal of 76207, I know we are all desperate to see that Sanctum Sanctorum should get a reveal if it's releasing online in May Hopefully we'll get confirmation on the Hulkbuster MKII release date, which I'd lean towards June/July In general at least we get a lot of new sets and hopefully a bit more to discuss, then things will go quicker in May with Doctor Strange 2 and the Sanctum set to modify. June/July should give us Summer set news and hopefully clarification on the $500 D2C. Just a little longer to wait. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Kids like mechs, Lego makes a mech with a Marvel character that is popular, kid buys the set for the mech and/or interest in the character. By repeating the figure with a different set they create the idea in kids minds that this character is the same and is meant to be associated with whatever other characters they are included in. This encourages the kids to get another set because they view the characters in the other set as associated with the hero. As much as we may desire it, it makes no sense for the character to be someone brand new OR a variation of the iconic design as such because the age range they are targetting might not understand who the character is and/or that they are meant to be the same character if the outfit/design has changed. This is why we are unlikely to get a She-Hulk, Ms.Marvel or Moon Knight set because they are not currently mainstream enough that they would be known to kids. I also feel the mechs primarily lean on characters with super powers, so you can have them either fighting in the mech or the concept of playing with the figure on its own. This is also why we see the same figure repeated in other sets, to form association between the character and the other sets it is included in. Associate kids with Spider-man, link that to some of his villains most obviously Venom because he rarely changes and then you can tie it in with other characters such as Iron Man. Then we get the 'venomized' characters because now they are associated with Venom and Iron Man or Venom and Spider-ham you can link them together, etc... The Thor set is a lot more complicated relating to budget, concept art, playability vs display, etc... so I would not lump that in with the discussion on the mechs. -

She-Hulk is probably the only chance at getting the movie version of Abomination unless he winds up appearing in a Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers series/film. Enquired with Promobricks: Nothing regarding the release date of the Hulkbuster MKII They intend to do a Marvel update, though this update would likely not be until April (Or the very end of March) I'd guess the update would probably be information on the Sanctum Sanctorum before its online release in May. With the Sanctum releasing in May (Online) and August (Retailers) I'd lean towards the Hulkbuster MKII and $500 D2C being released inbetween those months - guessing June for the Hulkbuster MKII (Alongside Optimus) while the $500 D2C would release in July. I'd lean towards Hulkbuster MKII coming first as its the one we know more information about and we heard about it first. Normally I would'nt think Lego would release Optimus & Hulkbuster MKII in the same month, but with Optimus seemingly delayed a month I think it's possible that it could happen. -

Cynical remarks about the internet aside, the reality is that we've had Disney+ sets for What If prior and we had Disney+ characters adapted into a CMF series showing Lego are prepared to give them concept art for these shows quite a while in advance. We already know we are getting an advent calendar inspired by the upcomming Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special, it is definitely possible that we wind up with other Disney+ sets this year. In terms of specific 2022 shows: Moon Knight: Has potential to be rolled into a 'Halloween Special' set alongside 'Werewolf by Night' Ms.Marvel: Probably saved for Captain Marvel 2 She-Hulk: Could be used to do a seudo 'The Incredible Hulk' legacy set with Abomination, Hulk and She-Hulk What If S2: Highly likely given we previously got 'What If' Disney Plus sets I Am Groot: Might get a small set given popularity of Baby Groot Secret Invasion (which was originally intended to air after Captain Marvel 2) will likely be delayed, but it could get a set featuring Nick Fury, Talos and a Skrull Imposter character depending on how many sets Captain Marvel 2. -

Perhaps she'd wear it for a specific scene in the show but it seems incredibly unlikely that a set would include it as it's simply not what she primarily wears. Honestly the remake idea could explain why we have gotten a new Iron Man figure after the last one - which could result in us also getting a Hulk and/or Captain America figure remake also. In terms of set remakes, I can easily see them giving us a minifigure pack with the Chitauri and Captain America similar to 6865, especially after a Chitauri appeared in the Endgame Final Battle Pack. This could give us a new Captain America figure. I feel Quinjet Aerial Battle and Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout would be the most logical selection for another remake. This could give us updated Hulk, Loki, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Iron Man MK7 and a variant of the Chituari to act as a 'general'. -
Ongoing Transformers Rumors and Discussion
Scarilian replied to NoOneOfImportance's topic in LEGO Licensed
We have a possible first look at a toy for Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts: Optimus Prime, spoiler tagged for space. I say possible as this design is different to the on-set vehicle we have seen. In general this design seems fairly easy for Lego to convert into a transforming set, the legs would simply need to rotate back 90° while the arms would rotate backwards 90° also. The head simply flipping backwards or forwards into the body to be hidden. The more simplistic a transformation, the more detail they would be able to add to the set without issue. The most likely option would be Optimus would be followed by Bumblebee, these are the two most popular characters. If these two are insanely popular then they would probably do another car/truck based transformer. I could see perhaps a typical black/red Optimus Prime exclusive also, as that tends to be a running theme with Optimus Prime figures. With a $169.99 price tag and an advisory 18+ on the box coupled with Lego generally being considered more fragile and less used to 'rough play' chances are that kids would go for a cheaper Optimus Prime that would be available for around $30-50 instead. This set is clearly intended for older fans. Hasbro is in general trying a rebrand/reboot of its Transformers saga, more in-line with 'Bumblebee' but at the same time playing on nostalgia and a desire to move away from Decepticons as the primary antagonists. As far as I can tell it'd function in the company's favor by the following: Main toyline, intended for rough play from kids, generally simplistic detailing Studio Series line, which is more accurate and generally focused towards collectors or those who want movie-accuracy or more detailed figures. They can still be transformed and handle some rough play. Lego sets, which would be for iconic characters and primarily a display piece, sure you can transform and pose it, but the nature of Lego generally would convince you to handle with care otherwise it'll fall apart. I think June makes sense, but I am curious how this will do when released against '76215 Hulkbuster MKII' which is likely due for a release in June/July. -

The most likely option is that Lego are merging the legacy theme with the 'icons' collection this year, meaning the primary legacy sets will be larger priced such as Thor's Hammer, Hulkbuster MKII and the $500 D2C. This may mean that a second legacy wave of sets is smaller than the last, noting that the 2021 wave of sets only included 5 independent Infinity Saga sets (discarding the NWH sets as those were likely due to a lack of concept art for NWH). My primary guess would be they would have sets based around each core Avenger, perhaps loosely inspired by the Phase 1 films, The Incredible Hulk being a notable exception: Iron Man: 76190 Iron Monger Mayhem (2021) Iron Man 2: 76216 Iron Man 2 Workshop (2022) Thor: 76209 Thor's Hammer (2022) Captain America: ? The Avengers: 76210 $500 D2C? (2022) The Captain America set would likely be Captain America 2 inspired to include the Winter Soldier and Black Widow to help sell the set - as we just had 76201 so no point having another set with Red Skull and the Tesseract so soon. I don't think they would adapt from The Incredible Hulk, but perhaps 76215 Hulkbuster MKII is a method for them to include a more iconic/accurate Bruce Banner figure while the upcoming She-Hulk could have a tie-in set that give them an excuse to provide a new big-fig Hulk with articulated head like Thanos... I'd lean towards 76221 or 76223 based on the pricing of those sets at $45 and $60 respectively, though other sets are currently without pricing and could be more suited. Ty :3 -

For those speculating on the unknown sets, I'd suggest referring to the information we currently have on them such as prices, age ranges, etc... 76220 4+ ($10, 43 pcs) August 76221 ($45, 456 pcs) August 76222: ?, ? 76223: 60€, ? 76224: ?, ? 76225 ($25) September 76226 ($25) September 76230: ($25) September In terms of personal speculation, I am still leaning to the Hulkbuster MKII and the $500 DC2 ushuring in a wave of legacy sets. The anniversary of Avengers probably resulting in a legacy set from that film and I'd lean towards some comic inspired Spider-man stuff also for the 60th anniversary and as a potential loose tie-in to Spider-verse 2 - so probably at least one set with Spider-man, Miles and Gwen At this stage it's mostly a waiting game, April gives us lots of sets to occupy us with as we wait for the reveal of the Sanctum Sanctorum set - but at that point things can get pretty wild with the Hulkbuster MKII, the $500 D2C, etc... As a sidenote, I wonder if either the Hulkbuster MKII or $500 D2C will get a polybag released with purchases. Filming is still on going so a delay is incredibly likely. If a delay does occur, they would likely avoid announcing it until after Doctor Strange 2 OR potentially after Thor L&T. I'm still of the opinion that Black Panther 2 and Captain Marvel 2 will be delayed. Black Panther 2 likely shifting to February 2023. We've known about 76230 for a while but it does provide confirmation of it being Marvel and the release date as September which is helpful and re-affirms the previous allocation. As @THELEGOBATMAN remarked, it gives us confirmation on the 76212 being a 4+ set also which we did not know prior. Updated List: -

It was relayed by NoOneOfImportance reported as 'Superheroes prices' by Brick_Clicker & Eugentoyandhobby website, it was among others reported at the time which are all currently listed by Promobricks.de as Marvel - though notably 76230 is not on any of the list of 2022 sets on Promobricks.de. I'd lean towards it being Marvel due to this, as it'd be odd to be the only set of the list that is not Marvel. It is however possible for it not to be Marvel *Realised I inaccurately labelled 76230 as September, perhaps it was listed somewhere at one stage... moved it to 'unknown release date' Updated List: Potentially, with a Disney+ animated series in 2023 I'd be surprised if we did not get another X-Men set for then. Still seems weird they have not done Prof.X officially in Lego. -

Promobricks have updated the list on their site, it now includes three brand new listings and confirmation on both the remaining D2C's. 76210 re-confirming it as a Marvel D2C priced at 499.99€ 76215 re-confirming it as the Hulkbuster MK II and have revealed a price at 299.99€ 76222 has been added to the Marvel set list, no release or price at this time 76223 has been added to the Marvel set list, no release however it is priced at 59.99€ 76224 has been added to the Marvel set list, no release or price at this time We originally heard about the Hulkbuster MK II from Promobricks.de in November, it's good to get further confirmation it's still coming and hopefully this means it'll be a 1HY release as expected as they did not previously have confirmation of the price prior and now seem sure of the 299.99€ price tag. This brings our total to 8 unknown Marvel Summer sets: 76220, 76221, 76222, 76223, 76224, 76225, 76226 and 76230. These sets will be accompanied by the Iron Man 2 Workshop and the Baby Groot figure they recently reported on. I apologise if someone else has already relayed this. Updated List: The reason I feel X-Men Mansion as the $500 D2C has a small potential is primarily the release of Wolverine in the mechs, coupled with Prof.X showing up in the Doctor Strange 2 trailer along with the release of a sequel to X-Men animated series entitled 'X-Men 97' releasing in mid 2023. The original 97 series leant fairly heavily on the comic designs for the characters. Releasing an X-Men Mansion set that is primarily comic inspired leaning on the original animated series, with the design likely being re-used for the sequel series releasing the next year would help the set sell well. The most obvious would be re-done figures of the prior characters they have done in Lego form, so we'd have Wolverine, Magneto, Storm, Cyclops, Deadpool and for the first time Prof.X. Other characters could be included to make the set more appealing. In general I think they would draw heavy inspiration from the Lego Ideas submission. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Took a little bit of a break, seems we've had a few new sets revealed, not only the accessory pack but also two brick sketches of Iron Man and Miles Morales scheduled for release April 1st. Have added them to the list. The accessory pack I think is 'ok' but it's marketted wrong. Valkyrie is not in her Endgame outfit, so it'd have made more sense to be a Thor Ragnarok accessory pack with the Chitauri perhaps given a cape so he could loosely fill the role as a 'Scavenger' or random alien stranded on Sakaar. In terms of calling it an Endgame accessory pack, it fails due to Valkyrie not being her final battle Ragnarok/Endgame outfit. I'd rather have seen the Chitauri figure sacrificed in favour of granting Valkyrie a new print. Otherwise, Thor is 'ok', Korg is 'fine', 'Meik' is a bit disappointing but I'm guessing the descision comes from them scale requirements due to the size they made Meik. Would have worked better advertised as a Ragnarok set. We probably won't see a Thor L&T trailer until after Doctor Strange 2 at this point, this may just be a marketting tactic to keep attention on one property at a time and adjust accordingly. If Thor does get delayed then it'd make more sense to be pushed to late August/September as opposed to November, granted they have placeholders for differing films, but it does not necessarily mean it has to take that slot. I personally have always been of the opinion that Black Panther 2 will get delayed to February 2023, however it makes no sense for it to result in a swapped release date with Captain Marvel 2. If Black Panther 2 is needing to be pushed back from November to February it'd be much more logical for Disney to simply delay Captain Marvel 2, which is unlikely to be connected to Guardians 3 or Ant-Man 3 enabling them to push Captain Marvel 2 back all the way to late 2023 without impacting build-up to storylines. It'd also allow them to rework that film from the reception of Ms.Marvel. The only release pushing Captain Marvel 2 back that far would alter is Secret Invasion which was already scheduled for 2023 and could be pushed back a bit (if it occurs after or during) and presumably the new Fantastic Four film, but releasing that in 'early 2024' would work well for marketting purposes and give them more time to plan Phase 5 as a response to what worked and did not work from Phase 4. I'd lean more towards this schedule: Black Panther 2: February 17th, 2023 GotG 3: May 5th, 2023 Ant-Man 3: July 2023 Captain Marvel 2: Late 2023 Fantastic Four: Early 2024 I would personally dismiss any build based on anything past Phase 3. Other aspects to dismiss would be builds like the Triskellion which just does not have enough interesting elements inside that could be adapted or New Asgard which has just not been shown enough on-screen to warrant a full massive $500 set. Ignoring Stark/Avengers Tower, some options would be: Asgard: In the style of Hogwarts Castle, almost entirely for display though having a few small areas. The main build would be Asgard itself with a rainbow bridge linking to the Himinbjorg. The main room would be the Coronation room however you'd also have smaller areas scattered around. It'd also feature small 'ship' builds to represent the Asgardian flying boats. The design of Asgard is visually interesting enough for a display model but very few rooms have been shown so would fit with the similar style as Hogwarts. You'd get four included figures: Odin, Frigga, Heimdall and Coronotation Thor with his helmet. You'd probably get some trophy figures also, though more similar to the Helicarrier as these are more uniquely designed so not a large selection. You'd get 8x Asgardian Guards, Heimdall, Thor and Loki. The later of which would be a nice addition to the pre-existing trophy figures of Hawkeye, Iron Man and Captain America which were released with the Helicarrier. SHIELD Helicarrier 2.0: The previous Helicarrier sold at $349.99 / 349.99€. It is highly likely a $500 redesign could improve upon that design. Rather than just a straight-up re-release, updating this set and potentially now including the electric motor would easily justify a bump-up to a $500 price point. Figures and potential trophy figures would be similar to the previous set, but updated and probably differing heroes provided such as Bruce Banner, Thor and Black Widow as opposed to Captain America, Iron Man and Hawkeye. This allows you to complete the line-up that appeared on the Helicarrier in Avengers. This could also be based on the Helicarriers in Winter Soldier, given we got little representation of that film in Lego form and a big D2C would allow them a shot at exclusive figures. Malibu Mansion: While I feel the mansion itself is a bit lacking in detail, it does have a lot of key scenes take place in or under it and it would be an easy method of including a collection of the Iron Man suits and generally help collectors of the suits have a base area in which they could display them. In terms of exclusive suits, the most obvious would be variations of the MK25 included in the Iron Man 2 workshop set, so we'd be looking at the MK26 and MK29. I'd lean to the inclusion of the MK40 also to allow a complete collection from 37 onwards. The other Iron Man suits we get would probably be those he used in Iron Man 3 or have on display around the Mansion such as the MK42. Baxter Building OR X-Men Mansion: Both have potential but face similar challenges that Disney might not want a set released that makes people interested in a franchise they are not currently focused on in films. Arguably X-Men having more potential given Wolverine in recent Lego sets and the addition of Prof.X in the trailers. Either option however would likely have to be comic-inspired given that we don't have a current itteration for them to be based on. Marvel Icons: Similar to Harry Potter, we could get a display piece of varying key aspects of the film. Most notably options would be for Captain America's Shield, Arc Reactor, Infinity Stones, perhaps a brick-built Nano Gauntlet to hold them. --- Updated List: -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
For those curious, the back of the New Asgard Attack set has been shown on instagram and the person who brought it is building it currently and teasing the idea of potentially having something advertised in the instruction manual The timing does make sense to be linked with Thor, but to have all the figures be associated primarily with Thor and Thor Ragnarok/Endgame is a bit of a letdown for something that has been built-up as being an 'Infinity Saga accessory pack'. Having it be a few random characters from the Endgame final battle would have been more Valkyrie requires at minimum a torso print, but her Ragnarok/Endgame costume is so detailed it'd arguably need leg/arm print to really feel complete Korg requires at minimum a torso print, but arguably needs his shoulder pad and leg print to sell the design Meik depending on how it is adapted requires at minimum a torso print, though realistically he may need a printed head and unique arms as he should be minifigure scale. Chitauri would probably be recycled from the 2021 sets I feel it also damages our chances of getting a Ragnarok legacy set, as now we primarily missing Skurge and Surtur who are exclusive to that film. I viewed it similar to what we got a few years back for Infinity War (Bricktober pack) which gave us a unique War Machine, Wong, Tony Stark and Bucky. In general I just expected Ronin, it makes sense to include the Ronin outfit due to it being highly requested and appearing in Hawkeye. The full list of suits are: War Machine MK1 - Iron Man 2 War Machine MK2 - Iron Man 3 + Age Of Ultron Iron Patriot MK1 - Iron Man 3 (A painted version of the MK2) War Machine MK3 - Civil War War Machine MK4 - Infinity War War Machine MK5 - Never Seen On-Screen War Machine MK6 - Endgame Iron Patriot MK2 - Endgame (Originally intended as a repaint/mod of the MK5, however the design was taken from unused concept art for the MK6) The MK4 was meant to be destroyed in the Edinburgh fight in Infinity War, resulting in the MK5 being the suit for the final battle in Infinity War. After the snap the MK5 was meant to be repainted into the red/blue suit which would be used during the Blip (People might just need, a little old fashioned) with Rhodey then using the MK6 in Endgame. In terms of movie-continuity, we skip straight from the MK4 to the MK6 between the events of Infinity War and Endgame, this does imply the existence of the MK5 though through numbering. It leaves us with three options: War Machine MK5 is the Iron Patriot MK2 War Machine MK5 is the non-patriotic Iron Patriot MK2 War Machine MK5 is a different design entirely and the Iron Patriot MK2 has no pre-existing suit as its base design Given the concept art, nature of the Iron Patriot's as repaints and the original remarks concerning the story I'd lean more towards the idea that the MK5 is the basis for the Iron Patriot MK2, it'd make sense the armour used during the Blip when the world is in chaos would arguably be the most decked out armour and the most 'patriotic'. It also means that while we may never get a general MK5 figure, it would allow people to repaint the eventual Iron Patriot MK2 figure we get to fill the gaps of the MK5. -

I'd guess it is based on Endgame's final battle given the inclusion of the Chitauri, in which case the designs would be as shown below: Don't worry though, these designs are pretty much identical to Ragnarok. I'd rather have had a pack featuring Ronin, War Machine MK 5 (The red/blue one from Endgame), Scale Cap and a Chitauri -

I think the problem is that the more expensive set erases the need for the smaller set to exist because the characters of the smaller set are exactly the same. It also creates a direct level of competition between the two sets. If you are only interested in Thor, Jane and Gorr you can skip the larger set and are rewarded for doing so with a cheaper more figure focused set. The smaller set, by nature of existing, makes the larger set less appealing because two of the better figures and Gorr (Gorr sucks ) are available in a cheaper set. You really need to want Korg or Valkyrie or the build to justify the larger set existing and you also have to justify a 30€ difference. Effectively we have TWO Thor L&T sets, but because of choices made by Lego, the majority will almost certainly only buy ONE. This is fine for you, you got either the main characters you wanted cheaply OR all the characters from the wave in a singular set, but I'm curious how Lego will view it as they are pitting cheapness and innacuracies against supporting characters and an accurate build. The success of either of these sets could mean varying things for the future of Marvel tie-in sets, in addition you also have to factor in what if this happens with Black Panther 2? 76211 (Wakanda Forever; 50€, 355 pcs) 76212 (Wakanda Forever; 10€, 58 pcs) 76213 (Wakanda Forever; 30€, 355 pcs) 76214 (Wakanda Forever; 80€) What if one or both of the 10€ and 30€ sets are made up entirely of repeated figures for the more expensive sets? If the 30€ set contains all the core characters, would you still be willing to buy the 80€ set if the core characters are exactly the same and exist in cheaper sets? Would supporting characters and a better build justify you spending 50€ more? It's interesting to consider that Thor L&T might not be the only time we see this happen. It also raises the question of why were'nt these variant costumes/figures? Did Thor L&T get a small budget? Is the lack of buildings in the Attack on New Asgard set hinting that the $500 set is New Asgard... I'd hope that is not the case but with them trying to ensure you get Thor, Jane and Gorr cheaply - perhaps they want to ensure you'll be hooked onto the characters before they do a bigger set. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I feel rumors about it being some adaptation of Mangog mostly come from the face design, but personally it feels too similar to the Sanctum Workshop monster (Including re-using design elements) that I feel this is either a placeholder that they used for concept art that Lego recieved OR that it's something Lego designed completely and they want to make a fun little 'monster army' for those getting the sets. Having this monster here with the insect monster as another member of its species. I don't feel anyone was massively concerned when the fake rumor regarding 'Space Sharks' was mentioned, because it was not tied to plot and they generally appeared in stories regarding Gorr. Whereas I think people have potential concerns over the plot element mentioned by yourself and what that could mean for the film if accurate primarily because it's so 'out there' compared to what the source material suggests could be included - it'd be something new the film is introducing which could also have ramifications on the plot of the film. Personally I don't believe the monster will be in the movie anyway, I think this was just a small set intended as a cheaper way of getting the heroes and villain with Lego wanting to make it a set as opposed to a minifigure pack to either provide play elements or to push the price up a bit to ensure it's not too easy to get the figures second-hand. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Scarilian replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think both these sets are a pass for me. Not particularly hyped for Love & Thunder, so having fairly underwhelming sets have contributed to my disinterest in them overall. In terms of builds the monster looks so generic that its almost instantly forgettable other than it somewhat reminding me of Aku (Same sentiment reflected by others here). The 'Attack On New Asgard' set is such a weird choice. Either the monster is in the movie, or was intended to be at one stage OR the set solely exists to provide a cheaper way of getting the main characters and the villain... but if the second option is the case they arguably could have made this a minifigure pack instead like 'Spider-man and the Museum Break-in' rather than add a monster so they can charge an extra 5€... :L Meanwhile the Viking style boat is neat, but not feeling Asgardian enough. I understand that is partially the point, that New Asgard is just a viking style tourism hotspot in Thor L&T, but I'd rather have had the partially tech inspired long boat from Thor: TDW. Despite earlier confusion, this Thor is not based on the way he seemingly appears on most the toy marketing, instead he's based on what appears to be his final battle outfit shown on the right of this image (Note the silver chest). As such he needs the golden arms, helmet and printed gauntlets to sell the design of the character - this is presumably Thor at his best. It's possible to chalk some of this up to the version of the concept art that Lego got, but without the golden arms/gauntlets/helmet this figure feels incomplete. It also means they have strayed away from the blue torso'd version which would have been more accurate to have the plain arms Jane and Valkyrie seem fine, would have liked Jane to have the gauntlets, but admittedly I'm not interested in these figures enough to warrant getting the set. I'd rather have Valkyrie's design from Ragnarok and the Asgardian outfit Jane from Thor: The Dark World. Valkyrie is fine, but I feel her design was better in Thor Ragnarok/Endgame. Valkyrie's design in general seems like a regression, aspects that are taken from Thor such as the circles for example make sense with Jane Foster's Thor, but Valkyrie is meant to be her own character not trying to be a variant of Thor. Gorr is incredibly underwhelming, so much so I'm actually put off the movie, regardless of accuracy he looks like a fairly generic egyptian mummy figure. It's not worth getting him as a figure and I think this is the fault of Disney stripping away key aspects of his character to give to characters like Hela or avoiding similarity with Star Wars by potentially removing the head tails. The best we can hope for is that he's akin to Voldermort from the Harry Potter films, but that sadly does not make his design redeemable in my view. I think I'll just save up for the better sets later in the year, if we get a later Thor set with his final battle outfit done justice with gold printed arms and his helmet I may end up getting it - but otherwise it's just a bit of a letdown. Part of me hopes we'll get a later set with a helmet that they could also use for Hawkman from the DCEU, potentially a re-done version of the existing helmet. I think the ideal mods to Thor would be: Helmet: Hawkman's helmet 18936 Arms: Pearl Gold arms from either Iron Man MK85 or perhaps C3P0, have yet to find ones with printed blue gauntlets Granted the current options lack detailing that would be needed to make the figure work. We are very likely to have more sets in June/July - would not dismiss that, we just don't know specifics currently. This year feels similar to last, when the 'legacy' sets surprised us. Only this time we have a hint to them with a few revealed or announced sets. My general expectations is that this year is a focus towards Phase 1 as a method of celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Avengers: Iron Man Other than Ho Yinsen, most the characters will have been represented at this point, so instead to celebrate Iron Man we'd get the IW Hulkbuster (76215? mentioned by Promobricks) and the 76206 brick-built character figure, though that is also based off another film. We'd also have Stark/Avengers tower though that would be the big set and more a celebration of Avengers as a whole. The Incredible Hulk: Given the recasting of Bruce and the alterations to Hulk's design it is more likely we'll get a set that's tied into She-Hulk featuring Bruce Banner, Big Fig Abomination and She-Hulk. This sort of gives us Abomination who was the main villain of The Incredible Hulk and cameo'd in Shang-Chi, however it'd obviously be an altered version of these characters that they could release claiming it was inspired by She-Hulk. Thor: With the Thor L&T sets and the '76209: Thor's Hammer', it's unlikely we'll get another Thor set later in the year - but if we do I'd lean to the set featuring Sif (Tie-in to Thor L&T). Alternatively, it'd make more sense for them to adapt from Thor 2 which would give them more to work with for the characters such as The Warriors Three, Heimdall, Malekith, Kurse, Odin and Frigga having more of a role in the story/focus. Iron Man 2: With recent sets and the addition of '76216 Iron Man 2 Workshop', we have most the characters covered, however with Lego's desire to make mechs I would not be surprised if we see a set featuring: Iron Man MK6, War Machine MK1 and a brick-built Whiplash MK2 with Justin Hammer in the mech. In the film it was Ivan Vanko, but having this as an 'inspired by' set, we'd change it to Justin Hammer giving us a movie-version of his character. For anyone wanting to replicate the film they can simply swap him out with the Ivan Vanko included in 76216. Captain America 1: Given we have a lot of the main characters released recently, I'd lean more towards a Captain America 2 inspired set. This set would feature Captain America, Winter Soldier, Black Widow and Batroc The Leaper. Similarly this would be inspired by Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but would feature a twist with Captain America in his stealth suit fighting Batroc while Black Widow faces off against the Winter Soldier. The Avengers: The $500 set would probably be Stark Tower, a celebration of 2012's Avengers: Iron Man MK7 (Printed Torso/Legs/Arms) Captain America (Printed Torso with Dual molded printed Legs/Arms) Thor (Printed Torso/Legs/Arms) Hulk (Big Fig, Legacy Thanos style) Black Widow (Printed Torso/Legs) Hawkeye (Printed Torso/Legs) Loki (Printed Torso/Legs/Arms) Phil Coulson (Printed Torso) Tony Stark (Printed Torso - 'Black Sabbath' style T-Shirt) Pepper Potts (Printed Arms/Torso/Legs) Eric Selvig (Printed Torso/Arms) Nick Fury (Repeat from 76216?) Maria Hill (Printed Torso/Arms - Shield Logo is only print on arms so can be used for other Shield Agents) Chitauri could be included to fill the figure count with characters from Avengers AoU also possible though would take focus away from it being a celebration of the 2012 film/Phase 1. If the Doctor Strange Sanctum can have 9 figures for $210 then, depending on build complexity, I could see including 13 characters (One of which being a big fig) in a $500 set. It'd probably be possible to modify the set to have it resemble Avengers Tower and the Lego marketing would probably label it as such, but the pieces included would only allow you to replicate its appearance in Avengers. -

However they handle MK 25 Striker it opens the potential for an eventual repaint into MK 26 Gamma or MK 29 Fiddler - which is useful. I'd personally expect them to do some form of item they can hold, similar to the 'minifigure gauntlets pieces'. Found images that might be how it is handled, spoiler tagged for space; The price is weird, but for 7 figures and 496 pieces, I can see the figures being used to justify it - especially if they get new moulds either for the arms of Striker, the Jetpack for the MK 85 (Or whatever that figure is if the MK 85 is a placeholder) and/or Whiplash's whips. True, I suppose Wanda is more of a cosmic multidimensional horror now Spider-man might just be a remnant of when this film was scheduled for release before Spider-man: NWH, perhaps no longer appearing in the film but they kept the inclusion because it was either too late to change, would help sell the set, or would generally make sense thanks to NWH having the two as allies. It could still be a variant, but they'd probably save that for when they eventually do a NWH final battle set. The illuminati are generally seeming to be: Prof X, Iron Man, Mordo, Monica as Captain Marvel and potentially some pre-existing What If characters who we already have figures for if rumors are accurate. Monica as Captain Marvel seems as simple as a head swap, so I doubt we'd get her. Christine Palmer is an option, but I'd lean more towards Prof.X. -

We already have remarks on seven of these. I expect the other two could wind up being Professor X and Wong (Who it makes no sense not to include) Doctor Strange Defender Strange Supreme Strange Wanda Mordo Iron Man Spider-man -

That is indeed also possible, in which case MK25 is a stand-in for whatever the final design of the Sanctum Iron Man is. -

True, true xD I really hope we at least get confirmation of the IW Hulkbuster release date, with all these D2C's its difficult managing how/when to get them. Other info would be good also. Life happens, things may have gotten in the way or a potentially scheduled release of info ended up not being uploaded Perhaps the countdown was more a generalised countdown to roughly when they intended to get/release the info. They implied Marvel stuff today, so we wait as patiently as possible - while doing other things to pass the time. Maybe... who am i to judge? -
