  1. Unsure what you'd like to go for in terms of your design, but personally: Scrap the Alley, extend the build back allowing for more interior space on each level Restructure the ground layer to provide more space between the door and the staircase, have a square chunk of the stairs removable to reveal Bruce Banner Restructure the middle layer either to allow for more flexibility with Gargantos battling OR to allow for more bookshelves and magical book display Restructure the attic layer to provide more space between the entry and the window, allow for room to display Doctor Strange near the window, add more display cases for magical stuff If you intend to display the Sanctum seperately then mirror the build to the other side (Note the roof is not possible to mirror existing design) Look into potentially making a seperate layer that may not be attached that could represent the basement/prison from NWH if you feel inclined I'm exploring some of these possibilities in my virtual redesign before I decide if it's worth going for the two copies of the set myself.
  2. I'd just turn it into a Batman Returns style legacy set with Penguin (Printed Torso), Catwoman (Printed Torso, Black Panther helmet piece) and Batman (Printed Torso, Cape/Hood combo)
  3. Ezra used terminology solely to take down interviews and directly subject his victims to extreme levels of abuse without them fighting back out of fear of being labelled, anyone not vouching for permanent imprisonment likely has no grasp on the true extent of his crimes or the ages of his victim. Now he's using mental health as the reasoning. It's just excuses for his actions that he (and to an extent Warner Bros) feels will be supported or sympathised with. I'd rather not perpetuate the very atmosphere and method he used to silence them.I also don't think the community would want Ezra associated with them, they have been trying to move away from harmful stereotypes and Ezra is a full embodiment of all the harmful stereotypes they would want to avoid. I could see it being reworked, removing Ezra's Flash and turning it into a legacy set for DC.
  4. Yeah, it's just this piece... which is insanely frustrating because it only exists in this set, so the lack of a piece on the other side also means we were robbed of the potential only chance we had for a counterpart to this piece because Sand Green is used rarely. I guess people would have to redesign the roof to mirror it. The alternative is using a sand yellow version for the other side and hope we get Sand Green in the future... Playing around with some concepts, casually. Unsure if it'll go anywhere, probably not, but shall share if it does.
  5. I understand why the decision was made, but for me, the Sanctum needs to be widened with a mirrored exterior and made deeper. The visuals of the sanctum feel incomplete when viewed from the front and I don't feel the flat edge connecting to other buildings would really suit this - it's somewhat intended to feel out of place with things around it. Increasing the width with the side segment gives you around 3-5 studs more interior space, dependant on layer Increasing the depth can give you an additional 1-6 studs of space on each layer depending on how much you care about the back alley Due to the nature of its design currently any changes made to the flat wall in the upper layer are noticeable on the exterior, this has limitations in terms of what can be added to the wall without altering the appearance of the exterior. While replicating the smooth exterior will not necessarily increase the interior space it does allow for you to do more with the wall without it altering the exterior design. For example, you can change the interior wall colour without it impacting the exterior. Increasing the depth of this layer allows you to move the interior backwards giving more room for you to pose characters looking out the window and more room for displays of varying magical items. The cramped nature of the second layer is its primary flaw. Increasing the depth gives you more room to display the characters near the bookshelves or in fighting positions. You'd likely need to shift where the tentacle monster emerges slightly but it would enable a more spacious feel for better posing. This lower layer benefits the most from the design changes, gaining additional space between the entrance and the staircase allowing characters to be displayed at the bottom of the staircase like in Infinity War. It also allows for more of an exploration on the segments either side of the staircase and a more grandiose feel. Do the pieces exist to mirror it?
  6. I feel tempering expectations may be better here than letting them run wild considering what the expectations people have/had of the set were
  7. To repeat and clarify info on the $500 D2C: It's seemingly not something suggested by people so far, though it's possible they were unaware of some suggestions this should rule out Stark/Avengers Tower which almost everyone including myself had hoped the D2C to be It's not an Icons set, at least it's not labelled as one It can be viewed as a celebration of the franchise It has minifigures I feel this will be similar to how the Daily Bugle kinda came out of nowhere. It'll probably be something that makes sense but is not really something people have considered.
  8. I'm not sure the comments they made were directly related to the Marvel D2C, but I am aware that the nature of the set is known to people, and from the information relayed to me it does imply the set is going to be recieved in a similar 'why did they handle it this way?' scenario. The D2C is apparently not what people have been guessing so I'd unfortunately take Avengers Tower or Helicarrier off the table and it's apparently unlikely to be an icons style set either. From how It's been described they felt it may get a mixed reception but could be potentially viewed as a celebration of the franchise as many have desired so it could be good for some but I'd expect a similar mixed response similar to how the Hogwarts Express was recieved. Edit: Apologies for the vagueness, but in general it might be best to manage expectations rather than us all being hyped over it being one thing but it winding up being something else.
  9. Brickfanatics seems to expect it to remain till December 2023, I'd lean towards that being the case. Most big D2C's last two years, so May 2023 would probably be the earliest it'd go
  10. Diversifying in the sense of actively removing two of the main characters who are actually in the movie and desired by fans and providing two diverse figures who are not in the movies is actually rather degrading and insulting to both fans of the franchise and any level of representation or appeal that was intended because they made zero effort to actually consult with the material they were supposedly basing this set on. It speaks volumes that those involved made no effort to be aware of any diverse characters in the franchise who may be relevant and appropriate for the set and decided to just make two random figures instead. The most logical choices would have been to include Blaise from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Cho Chang from Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire. Then your line-up would have been: Movie 1: Train Conductor, Trolley Witch, Harry, Ron, Hermione (Five Figures) Movie 3: Remus, Dementor, Harry, Ron, Hermione (Four Figures) Movie 4: Cho Chang (One Figure) Movie 6: Blaise, Harry, Luna, Malfoy (Four Figures) Movie 8: Harry, Ginny, Albus Severus, Lily Luna, James Sirius (Five Figures) You cover one extra movie and you actively make it seem less focused on Movie 8 characters as opposed to just shoving in two random diverse characters for the final film that don't show up. Second film they avoid using the train Fifth film the train itself does not reveal any potential for characters other than Harry, Ron, Hermione and potentially a suited Voldemort Seventh film the train is also avoided, it appears very briefly where it's boarded by Death Eaters and you could potentially include one of them if desired Though yes, the set would have been greatly improved by focusing entirely on those iconic scenes by giving us the older Ron and Hermione. Not including them does not work here because the entire set relies on recreating the most iconic scenes and removing the ability to have both the younger trio and the older trio displayed is a really silly business decision that will actively harm sales. Just bad decisions from Lego all around. Well said.
  11. Overall this set seems like a massive mistep that pleases nobody fully - even people who want the set seem to be saying how bad a certain aspect is, from the choice of figures to the specifics of the design/scale.
  12. Once a new trailer drops, so probably late August or early September. As for build, I'd lean to it either being that oil rig style platform we see OR Wakanda's Throne Room. I know that feel Thunderbolts is July 2024, so I'd dismiss August 2024 as they'd want to give people time to hype over and get those sets first. September 2024 OR October 2024 would be the main ones. I'd lean mostly to Lego repeating how they are handling the Black Panther 2 sets, probably a larger wave of sets because it's a popular brand and releasing closer to the movie.
  13. Umm... sorry to break it to you both... but the movie releases November 8th 2024. Not 2023 anymore. We are dealing with over two years of waiting (800+ Days) as we won't get the sets until October 2024 at the absolute earliest.
  14. Not too sure, but it vanished from the site I believe.
  15. I'm not getting the set, but wanted to give thoughts. Honestly the train does not interest me at all, its visually interesting as a display model but you are limited with interactions at the larger scale it won't fit well with the other trains they have. I like the station build segment more than the train, though a ton of wasted parts on the lower segment to get it up to the height needed for displaying alongside the train. If they sold that station segment individually I'd probably wind up buying it as I feel the Platform and going through the wall is more iconic to me than the train.
  16. Though not as good as some previous offers - the Sanctum, in the UK, is on Costco website for around £168. Buy from someone with a really high rating, potentially someone you've interacted with before. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is Armour Wars is a series about Rhodey with a huge level of potential for mechs and Iron Man style figures. I believe it is our highest change of getting more War Machine focused figures. Only problem is we probably won't see it until Phase 6.
  17. Agreed, mechs work better with the buildable figures. I think the organic style kinda worked with Venom and Spider-man here though. It's mostly the faces that are the problem and unless they adapt the face piece which seems unlikely they'd probably be best leaning to sets where the characters wear a mask or are robotic. I'd lean towards Avengers Endgame being to blame. They did a War Machine mech for that and I'm guessing it did not sell well. Maybe we'll get a War Machine mech for Armour Wars in late 2024/2025 (?)
  18. Been thinking of other potential buildable figures they could do in this style and the shape of the head coupled with how they recently did Venom's mouth reminded me of Ultron a lot. Ant-Man, Wasp, Black Panther, Groot, War Machine would all probably fit the style also. I don't think its fair to say that these buildable figures are responsible for the Sanctum cheaping out in a lot of ways such as not including about a third of the design, having figures that are lacking in detail and relying almost entirely on sticker. Personally I want mechs, I want to see them eventually get back to the stage of something like Exo-Force or having more Transformers and even the Hulkbuster MKII. Mech's breathe new life into Lego as opposed to stationary buildings or vehicles. I do feel we need to vary from just Iron Man mechs though, be adventurous. Playing with the scale of the mechs could also help. True, if the theme survives till 2025 we'll probably have had a Spider-man 4 by then with the Black Suit so maybe we'll be lucky. I'm still surprised we have a Venom & Carnage Bust but no Spider-man Bust... what is Lego doing? Neat, did not know that.
  19. Spider-man & Venom both offer some nice recolours. If the shield pieces are printed then the crotch piece on Spider-man and the chest piece on Venom could be nice reusable pieces. I'm glad Venom encorporates the head piece as shoulder pads, it's a useful piece in black. Curious how Venom would look with the mouth closed, if possible. I feel Spider-man's probably the best designed of the three. Miles feels like the weakest here as he does not offer as much uniqueness. Unsure why Venom & Miles have obvious red pins while Spider-man has black pins... if this was the other way round it'd stand out a lot less. Hopefully we get a Black-Suited Spider-man and Carnage from this buildable figure line. I feel neither would be too difficult, just colour swapped versions of the pre-existing sets. I'll probably wind up getting Spider-man and Venom. The remaining 2022 Marvel sets that we know of to be revealed (In expected order) 76214 - (Wakanda Forever; 80€, 545 pcs) Releasing October 76215 - (Hulkbuster MK II $350, 2961 pcs) Releasing October 76210 - (499,99€ D2C) 76222 - (Unknown set, listed on Promobricks.de) 76224 - (Unknown set, listed on Promobricks.de) Updated List: Neat. Any chance something could be released alongside the Hulkbuster MKII or D2C such as a polybag or set with purchase?
  20. Had more time to process and I think the general design is almost perfected in terms of the concept they are aiming for, the only aspects in need of improvement are the foot articulation, elbow articulation and shoulder pads. It looks like they may be trying an alternative method for the shoulder pads with these smaller figures so perhaps they are learning. I hope we see other figures in this series and that it gives them more potential to improve. I'm really curious how Venom is going to be handled, the main thing for that character is normally the idea of him being bulky and having a long tongue. Personally I'm leaning more to the idea that it's a mistaken translation and that it's actually the Black Suited Spider-man which someone mistook for Venom due to the black/white colour scheme and logo I think Ninjago covers that demographic, only way they could justify Bionicle coming back to most would be in a similar action figure style which is currently not filled by anything they offer. Hence why they are trying to tap that market via latching it onto a popular brand, in this case, Marvel.
  21. Still waiting on Venom, but the recolours of pieces are nice and will allow for better cohesiveness. Feels like small improvements here and there. Its generally improving on aspects of the buildable figures. Room exists to improve it further though. If anything this style, if popular, could easily transfer to a theme in the Knights Kingdom style. When Bionicle returns in some form, it'd probably initially have to rely on pre-existing pieces as opposed to an entire subsection of new pieces like in the past. I think the only option for its revival is in the form we see here and potentially expanding out from that. Castle has been one of the main popular things for the 90th, so why not capitalize on that by bringing back the Knights Kingdom style for buildable figures. Compare for example the Miles Morales figure with Vladek. Once popular they can use this as a basis to branch into other buildable figures and vary more from the baseline.
  22. Original UK Price was very likely £189.99, due to Lego price increases this seemingly became £214.99 - an increase of around 11.7%. I believe most retailers will wind up increasing the price to £214.99. Having discounts of around 10% or lower when a set is released has become surprisingly common. Zavvi probably intended to discount from £189.99 to £174.99 (8% cheaper) but instead listed that solely as the main price. Zavvi had an offer they likely did not intend to overlap which resulted in £35 of savings on the Sanctum Sanctorum reducing it from £174.99 to £139.99. It has now removed this offer and has put the Sanctum Sanctorum price at the new pricing of £214.99.
  23. Saw an Instagram post about 7 hours ago claiming 'tomorrow' would be when they will be revealed along with the Advent Calendars and Seasonal Christmas sets. The Calendars and Seasonal Christmas sets have been revealed so I expect the buildable figures are not far behind. Timezones may be a factor as always.
  24. Hopefully we see the buildable figures fairly soon, they are meant to release in September and would be nice to get a sense of how they are handled as they are a lower price point than the Iron Man Lego/Smyths have it as £214.99 (RRP) Very has it at £189.99 (11.7% Off) Costco already sold a few for £161.98 so that might be how much it'll retail via them however will need to verify that tomorrow (24.7% off) As far as I can tell Costco is the best offer available currently IF it winds up being the retail price after August 1st and was not an incorrect listing. Yes, all 8 of us :p
  25. Honestly, Everett Ross or Agent Coulson makes sense as an easy filler character you can add to a set to increase the figure count. A similar remark could apply to other suited characters: Justin Hammer, Alexander Pierce, Hank Pym, etc... You only really need to focus on the head to get the likeness correct and an appropriate hair piece as the rest can be a generic suit which should in theory mean that it's easy to do. I'm unsure why they have not bothered as such to do so with sets.
