  1. No we do sometimes, I'm just saying in case it doesn't apply for whatever reason. I mean, TRU.com just randomly decide within a year to stop shipping to Canada, so I never know when new policies will come into effect. :X
  2. Same. Unless it's a promotion Canadian residents can't take advantage of. Oldschool Rahi are also nearly fifteen years old and made up for the lack of posability by having more involved functions and far better aesthetics. I mean, the Nui-Jaga actually has more articulation than Skull Scorpio.
  3. 2004, it was just great. It had all the mystique and worldbuilding of G1 in a brand new setting, with brand new Toa. The designs were an excellent contrast to 2001-2003, they were dark, swapped the elemental secondary colour for a uniform grey, and they were more porportionate and posable than ever. The aesthetic was also more detailed, the Toa's masks were exxcellently designed, and the story was a great turn. It felt way more mature but just as intelligent and full of heart as the first years. It was the first time Bionicle really leapt forward, yet I still consider it part of the original golden age. 2006/2007 were the second greatest years, thanks to the Inika build. Again, very stark tonal contrast, the story had reinvented itself yet again, and things actually felt really at stake in 2007. It's only real black mark was lime green joints. It's the closest I ever came to going all-in on a year. After that things became a big stagnant. The Nuva were basically the Mahri, the villains ranged from excellent to forgettable, the story felt a bit re-hashy, and the sets were all breaking thanks to the horrible new joint moulds. Then Glatorian happened, and aside from the return to multiple bright colours, it felt just totally blah. I got almost every Glatorian and almost every one of them is parts fodder now. Regardless, I'm quite happy to see 2007 in the lead, even if it's not my first choice.
  4. ^Exactly. I don't know why so many assume Mask Hunter is Ekimu and not Makuta.
  5. I feel like in a franchise like Bionicle where the story and sets play off eachother, that's going to be difficult.
  6. Actually, you didn't, your very first words were an absolute: No "probably" in there. :I You just flat out assumed that was the truth based on nothing. You're still operating under the assumption that Mask Hunter is Ekimu again, when it could very well not be.
  7. That's only if:1. The list is real 2. Mask Hunter is Ekimu and not Makuta or someone else 3. It is Ekimu, and he hasn't been given a new mask or MoCr design at least You're making a lot of accusations very early on.
  8. I still think "Mask Hunter" could be Makuta or another villain. (I would certainly prefer Makuta, though) For one, "hunters" aren't typically a heroic moniker in brands with this age range. Heroes can hunt for things, but they're rarely called "hunters." It brings to mind a skilled predator stalking it's weaker prey. I know it doesn't have to mean that, but there's clearly little below the surface of G2 Bionicle's naming conventions. If it were a hero I'd imagine something like "Mask Seeker." Plus there was that old rumour that Makuta was searching for all the most powerful masks.
  9. I have the orange Vahi, and the gold Ignika if that's considered rare.
  10. I think the silver legs look better, personally. Even with the black tips, but ultimately all that matters is what you think looks best. :3
  11. It does, but that at least I can understand. Times were different back then.
  12. Find where I said they should drop every single small-priced set in favour of gigantic, overpriced monsters? I'm saying trade like two Protectors for another Tahu. Unlike what is typical internet practices, when I say I want more of something, I do not mean I want only that something.
  13. Except... that doesn't make sense, at all. By that logic there would be no expensive toys period. Hell, Ekimu and Kulta wouldn't even exist. Your arguement runs so contrary to facts and logic I'm not sure how to properly give counter examples besides "go to a toy store."People constantly underestimate children and parents, but this is really something. "Only make impulse buys." So.... Christmas lists aren't a thing anymore?
  14. I mean, in this year alone, there's 18 sets. I feel like that's a great start, quantity-wise. One year with less sets but bigger builds would be alright, no?
  15. Well, the Protectors and lesser Toa are selling like crazy where I am... probably because my Wal Mart doesn't even carry the larger Toa. (I hope they get Ekimu/Kulta though)
  16. I mean, the Toa came first. They're the yardstick for which all subsequent sets should be judged.Besides, I like big sets. I love how big the Toa are, (except Tahu, whom I shortened one stud) it makes them feel like the big fat action figures I played with as a big fat child. Also, the problem is that the Skellies don't feel worth the money as it is. The shortness is one third of the disappointing trifecta: shortness, skinniness, and lack of unique masks. If even one of these qualities were fixed, they'd be way better sets and I could ignore/fix the other issues myself without concern. But as it stands, they simply don't stack up against the Toa. Whoever's fault it is is beside the point, but I definitely don't think "the other side is just too good" is a rational excuse for the weakness of a group of sets.
  17. This is my Skull Scorpio "prevamp." Literally just a robot scorpion, as I don't own the set. The stinger, head, arms, and armour is all temporary. I just wanted to see if I could make it before I got the set. Though I don't plan to use the set's head. I figure that, rather than have the absurd mask-grabbing tail thing, I'd repurpose those parts into the claws. I also may add in another colour, depending on how it looks with the trans green of the set.
  18. I mean, the only other "Bionicle" thing ever is G1. It's not like Transformers where there's a billion different continuities, rigth now if you want to reference Bionicle, you only really have one source to do so from.
  19. My hunt begins. The Piraka torso's couldn't be changed, height-wise. (unless you just meant two-part torsos in general, but I'd argue that started with the Metru)And I feel like Tahu's arms and legs aren't too long at all. (well his legs were but I fixed them) then again, I may be conditioned by mecha anime and all that sponge, which elongate the legs and shorten the torso because it looks more dynamic, and that's what I feel like Bionicle has always been. They look... weird with human proportions. Are you sure? Because they look pretty okay proportioned when you consider they're not supposed to be humans, or have human proportions. (Lewa has extra long arms, Pohatu's got shorter limbs, Onua was smashed with a hammer, etc.)
  20. Because the new bone pieces that make up part of at least every limb of every skull villain is only as long as the shortest HF limb capable of wearing armour. Kulta's legs are made of the shortest bones while Tahu uses the longest ones and two sets of extenders in his legs. I actually shortened my Tahu by one module because he was too tall for me.
  21. Have you considered spray-painting the mask as oppsoed to hand-painting? Especially since it's white, I can see you went pretty thick. (kind of have to when putting white over just about any colour) But you could easily get a cna of Krylon fusion for $7 and get a much more even coat.
  22. Except it's been stated that G2 is it's own thing, totally seperate from G1."References" don't really mean anything unless they're referencing events as being in the same universe.
  23. The most complicated name in only tri-syllabic. They're not complicated at all, they're actually quite simple. It's a Voodoo head, man!
  24. That's a legit combo model right there. Badass.
  25. I'm quite enjoying the Toa discovering their abilities, like Kopaka finding out his mask has a magnifier. (Or maybe even all masks, since Izotor is able to spot distant Spiders that Kopaka saw only as specks) It's not the slapstick punchline comedy the bios foretold. It feels like OG Bionicle's level of humour.
