  1. Bingzak sounds like a Grunt's name from Halo.
  2. Well, that's just excellent. We get female characters, and we're not conforming to G1 gender roles. Bionicle G2, I dig you, bro.
  3. I dunno, dude's not usually wrong about this kind of stuff. Is the preview the entire book?
  4. Korgot (PoE) is consistently refered to as "she" and "her" in the book, though.
  5. It really makes me question some of the folks here who consider "Korgot" hard to pronounce.
  6. Because no two names in anything have ever sounded alike.
  7. Only problem is the trans blue shell they mounted the chest piece on is too short to attach directly to the torso, and I don't think they make it in the size you used.
  8. I feel like the vestigel shoulder balls from the torso are perfectly placed for filling in the gap in the chest somehow. Either way, great set.
  9. I mean, if they're still refusing to believe such a thing is true, depsite the mountains of existing evidence to the contrary, I don't think convincing them otehrwise is possible at this point. This MOC is amazing, BTW. It almost defeats conversation itself when all you can say is "it's perfect!" Those hands are incredible, as are the staff and colourscheme especially.
  10. But a tall, buff character looks stronger than both.Ever played or heard of the game series Borderlands? One of the characters, Salvador, is a super buff dwarf. Another is Axton, an normal looking, muscular guy. Yeah, Salvador looks maybe physically stronger than Axton despite being comically short, but Brick, a character from the first game, looks stronger than both because he's taller, and more muscular than either. Except I can't see that when Onua's limbs are no larger than Tahu's. In fact, stock, Tahu's limbs are bigger. Onua's only sign of strength is his disproportionately large chest and shoulders. His arms and legs are so small, though, he doesn't look like he can really do anything except collapse under the weight of his own deformed body. Onua's shortness may have been a defining trait of early G1 Bionicle, but like Pohatu's inverted torso, it doesn't old much stock these days. Plus, if you're gonna bring up G1, I'd say his not looking wider than he is tall is another defining trait of the character. His chest is just so wide, it's impossible for me to envision him as anyting less than a severely limited physical fighter, borderline useless. While the gearbox prevents the other Toa from doing it practically, Onua doesn't even look like he could cross his arms. Also, being so big doesn't off-balance the team IMO. He's like the Team's Hulk, minus the outrageous agility. He's super strong, super tough, but not as fast or skilled as the others. Stock Onua looks neither fast, nor skilled, nor really tough or strong. EDIT: And I totally forgot my ultimate point, that Grinder aside, all the Skull villains are either shorter or just barely as tall as the Toa on average. Factor in their decreased numbers, they're really not intimidating villains. Plus, they're skeletons. Skeletons are usually pretty lame enemies, but they can work if they're properly built up with armour, weapons, and size. Here, they're all shorter, skinnier, and just look like they'd get instantly steamrolled by even half the Toa. They don't look threatening at all in comparrison.
  11. I actually don't believe it was. Same, though I can't see myself bulk-buying them like I did the Toa. I may go a Protector-route and get them one at a time over time.
  12. It kinda is. More mass, more strength. (unless you're fat, I guess) I mean, he can't exactly rip masks off the Toa if he can't reach half of them. :3 Onua's shortness was an absolute detriment in need of correcting, though. His arms and legs and torso height weren't a problem so much as his massive chest and gigantic shoulders. He looked more awkward stock built than literally any revamp of him I've seen. At least those attempted to reconcile the torso that was wider than it was tall. You raise a good point in Basher's favour, though. At least it's not massively disproportionate to itself like Onua was. Placed alone, Basher looks sweet.
  13. He's really small. I wish they'd used longer bones or something to make him taller. He's not really intimidating at all once you place him next to any Toa.
  14. I had wondered how the new armour shells would look attached like that. Glad to see it's so effective!
  15. "You look like a pretty big set.""For you." I dunno, man. I think they're just masks these days. Ekimu's comatose state/death was caused not simply by losing his mask, but from the shockwave that came from striking the MOUP.
  16. That artwork is amazing, I hope there's more. (either way, Lego released Gali's first, they know she's the best of the new Toa :3)
  17. Basher and Grinder look excellent!
  18. Yeah no kidding. Also, "Water Bohrok." Clearly someone's trying, and failing, to imitate Lego's current naming conventions. My favourite part is the tiny Kraakahn in the face.
  19. My plans are so far to basically just make each set "complete." If I do get Scorpio, he'll probably be entirely revamped into an actual Scorpion-looking thing. Slicer would get Warrior's staff tip so he can have four swords and just be better all around, while Warrior itself will probably be relieved of the trans-orange. can't see myelf doing to much to basher and Grinder, honestly. I think they look great. Probably just minor cosmetic touch-ups, like maybe some 3x shells on the exposed balls on Grinder's chest.
  20. Amazing! (More cat-MOCs are never a bad thing)
  21. I agree. I'd love a gearbox-Protector Mini-kuta.
  22. I keep forgetting Bionicles aren't like normal action figures, and don't follow the same rules because they're overall lighter.
  23. Skull Slicer has, like, no armour, though. (and for all we know could fall over way easier than your average Toa)
  24. Because Protectors are way smaller than a Toa.
  25. People don't like the 2.0 foot? What's wrong with it? It's a fine foot piece, and like DraikNova said, putting them sole-to-sole makes for cool armour pieces.
