  1. They use offset measurements even/odd don't they? so a conversion is probably quite difficult, but a studless recreation of a studded set is quite doable.
  2. Honestly if i was the designer of one of these Mocs, i would be happy with a credit and a small cut ~3-7% maybe? but for the prices he is charging he should be using the most correct colors possible not this BOLOCS.
  3. If you think of Lego as an art medium, i:e painting, drawing, music playing, and the design as an IP then this is definitely wrong, the Mona Lisa was painted with simple paints after all, but is an IP none the less.
  4. Wow Sheepo's defender looks crazy in those colors, i might have to build mine like that... i kid, also its called a Jeep on the site, i know a Land Rover fan who would go nuts if you said that And is that the ultimate 42009? it doesn't look quite right.
  5. I have seen the PF system power a buggy motor, i suppose you just need to be careful and not overload it, Is it weird that i bought a 8285 (its being sent assembled), and i want someone else to disassemble it for me, because i don't want to have the building process spoiled?
  6. I have always wanted one, well ever since i got into technic, but they always manage to elude me.
  7. As long as they keep the old studs around it should keep everyone happy, Off topic, i really like the look of 5893, but its surprisingly expensive.
  8. Kinda like what i said, a self sufficient power source is definitely impossible, but something that only powers its own movements, and loses no energy in the process, could theoretically exist, provided it had no friction or other resistance.
  9. Perpetual motion is theoretically possible (i think) but it would need to be 100% friction less, and since it would literally be powering itself, there would be no spare energy for powering other things e.g a dynamo to produce electricity, even if we created it, we could not harness it, as far as i can think anyway.
  10. best i managed was a 9394 for $28 AU, postage was $12 though.
  11. Yeah the power source is the issue, i have a hobby-grade RC car with a top speed of 45 KPH but it runs on a 7.4 volt battery, it sucks the thing dry in about 30 minutes though. lego battery packs and alkaline batteries have very little capacity and current so they create a severe power bottleneck.
  12. Wait? how did he mesh those gears? they don't work properly when you mesh half-bevels together(at least as far as i have tried)
  13. i have had very few ebay troubles, but my only 2 used sets, the 9398 was missing a #1 white connector, but it was in otherwise impeccable condition, my 9394 was also in great shape but was missing a 3L pin, if the seller promises 100% complete and it is not, you should ask them to see if they have the missing part or maybe refund a small amount.
  14. Whats this about the 42038/9 not being available? i have not seen any 1H models on shelves in Australia yet but our Lego store can ship them here.
  15. Does it look like it could be constructed from other parts? like the L motor and servo are?
  16. They seemed correct but i think they were aftermarket(the seller had lots) ill try and find them but they probably aren't much better than yours, i once saw a mint sheet for $50! it seems people like their stickers.
  17. The new system is longer too, so saving plastic was not the objective.
  18. I love those blue cylinders, i wish i had gone for the one i saw cheap on eBay a few weeks ago. By the way, what kind of replacement stickers are you looking for? i saw some restored ones on eBay too.
  19. Argh, it turns out i cant film a video... and i suck at designing around linear actuators, guess i'm out :(
  20. The only problem with merging is the conversations can be blended together, making things quite confusing, on the 42009, it will not be around after this year, as the previous flagship was discontinued late last year.
  21. i was thinking about this when building the 42009 and placing the 32l axle would two 16s not have worked better? the 32 was bent slightly in the box and does not transfer drive as well as it should.
  22. What counts as a dark age i wonder? anyway, i used to collect a lot of Bionicle stuff many years ago, after quite a while of not having much interest, i was helping a younger relative build some hero factory thing, i realized that i still loved building things, and together with an ad for the 9398 that i saw just moments later i started looking into more Technic stuff, then last October i purchased a 42030 and now i have 11 total sets, including 8110, 9398, 42009, and 42030! i guess m hooked!
  23. I don't exactly have a lot of wheels, i do have the unimog wheels but they are much too large i also know that Ride-ons have smaller front wheels but i don't have any that would match up, larger wheels would require a rebuild and i barely think ill have the time to finish the build. i'm also very unhappy with the bumper. finally, i don't have any technicfigs but i do have this figure of Miyako from Hidamari sketch, she seems to be a tad small though.
