[MOC] Minifig Scale UT-60D U-Wing Starfighter

It looks amazing, albeit a bit big for my taste. But as you said, minifig scale seems to be pretty subjective. -

Well that's not entirely true, there were a few EU sets released in that period after the release of 7664. From the top of my head the 7667 Stormtrooper BP which contained a shadowtrooper, the Rogue Shadow from The Force Unleashed and the 8087 TIE Defender. Also the first version of the Republic Fighter Tank if I recall correctly. So who knows? -
I finally got myself a 4477 Skyhopper, in great condition too. Such a neat little set

This still more or less feels like the "correct" scale for me. Whenever I read about minifig scale, this is what I think about and not some behemoth UCS Millennium Falcon. Great work by the way!- 14 replies

My wishlist keeps on shrinking... this week I got: a 7130 Snowspeeder. Now I have all five sets from the first ever Lego Star Wars wave. I need to bricklink a few parts but only small unimportant ones; 75051 Jedi Scout Fighter without minifigs, as a playset for my kids; 75226 Inferno Squad BP, I'm keeping it in the box until I can finally get BF2 playing on my computer (it keeps getting stuck on the loading screen); an Ahsoka minifig that was missing in the 8037 Anakin's Y-Wing that I got recently (not counting it since it was picked up by a friend and I don't actually "have" it yet), as well as the "torso" of that R2 figure... I already had the "head" for some reason; several parts that were missing in some of my sets, as well as almost all parts to make a 20007 Mini Venator. And for the same friend I mentioned above I got a 8039 Venator, almost complete for only 60 euros. Oh, and I also ordered a 75001 Republic Troopers vs. Sith Troopers BP. Now I only need a Skyhopper and I can lay low for a while.

I doubt if the ST will have the same long term impact as the PT has been having. Not just movies have changed but people as well. But even though the sequels were definitely NOT my cup of tea, it would be nice for the people who like them to have some additional sets. As would the occasional release of a set from RO and Solo, as well as Rebels. As for the PT, I'd maintain a very strict distinction between the trilogy and TCW. Even though they are from the same era so to speak, there were tons of vehicles and character that did appear in TCW, but not in the PT. I'm still waiting for a Gian speeder to accompany my 7124 Flash speeder by the way. But I like it that for a few years now, the waves did not have an all too heavy focus on just one movie/show. And the fact that, with the TIE bomber, it's clear that vehicles with less screentime are still on the table as set possibilities; still waiting for an ARC 170 fighter remake. I would like a wave entirely dedicated to Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II by the way. That would sell very poorly; mark the first time I would own all sets from one wave since the 1999 winter wave and therefore make my wife very angry with me; be entirely worth it. -

2022 is a pretty good year for Star Wars sets IMO. I was checking my collection on Brickset and it's been quite a while since I bought/wanted so many sets from one year. Not counting the mandalorian warrior magazine gift I count six; I own the snowtrooper BP, the P1 clone pack and Obi Wan's starfighter, and on my wishlist are the Hoth rebel pack, the republic fighter tank (whenever I don't miss one of those few hour windows when they are available) and the AT-TE. I even got my wife on board for that one So yeah, as I said, it was(?) a good year. -

Well let's see... Slave 1 Microfighter: might be fun, I might even pick it up if OT Boba is included. 501st specialist BP: sounds really cool, would have been great if it was based on the OG BF2 game (airborne trooper helmet snipers!) but still, it's definitely on my list. TIE Bomber: since I own the 2003 version since... 2003 I think, I probably won't pick it up. I do hope it's not too big though, that would bode well for future sets... especially starfighters have been too big IMO since at least that humongous 7674 Torrent. Helmets, UCS set and Brickheadz: don't care for them, personally I find it a shame that they take slots from other possible sets, but well, there are people who like them so I'll just be happy for those people. And my bank account. Dioramas: same as with the helmets, I would be way more interested if they were "normal" sets. Mando sets: unlikely that I will be interested but who knows? Well at least one set that I actually want, so that's good -

The 10 euro set will most probably be a Microfighter of course, but I'm gonna do a wild guess and say it's gonna be Jabba's Sail Barge with Bib Fortuna at the wheel, or a Gamorrean. Gotta celebrate RotJ. The 20 euro set being a BP is also a no-brainer, I love that kind of sets but I'm still gonna wait for the discount. Provided that I like it of course. As for the rest I have no idea, although the 70 euro sets will most probably be helmets, sadly. -
^That's very nice, except for the Rebels style stormies I finally got myself the 8083 Hoth rebels BP, I've been putting it off for some reason. Also waiting for the 75080 AAT and 75167 Bounty hunter BP to arrive, as well as B-Wing and ISD magazine polybag sets for my own advent calendar project this year. My bucket list is shrinking!
-
Thanks for getting me up to date guys Excuse me for diverting your attention from the one and only building block brand. I hope they will release a worthwhile train set soon. At least I've developed a taste for steam engines so 40370 might be a nice place for me to start.
-
That looks pretty neat, awesome work!
-
Just out of curiousity, does BlueBrixx have good quality pieces? I'm looking into Lego trains again after saying my Dark Ages goodbye, but with Star Wars as my main focus that is a bit difficult money-wise (I'm REALLY sorry about missing the Emerald Night!). And what are LGB rails?
-
I got the 75155 U-Wing for very cheap, only minifig included was the pilot though. But I don't mind that since I wasn't too impressed by Rogue One; it's a nice ship so I'm glad I have all six "letter wings" now

Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Big_Daddy replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
True, but there is an advantage about that, at least if you're like me and don't like all Star Wars content that's being released. For instance, the current wave isn't that much of a danger for my bank account since I didn't really like Kenobi. And I haven't got that many sets on my wishlist from the last seven years or so because of the many sequel trilogy sets that were released (I do regret skipping the Rebels sets, but those stormies were just too much back then). But yeah, if you like it all and also like most of the lego sets that are made out of it, you don't even have that advantage -
I ordered the 75333 for 23 euros from Amazon, it's gonna take a while before it's gonna be delivered though. I also ordered 75015 (Tank Droid) for a friend, as well as multiple sw0585 stormies and imperial patrol troopers for both him and me.

Looks very good, way better scaled than anything released after 7127 IMO.

You don't need to care in that way about the northern hemisphere, that's why it would be genuinely cool if you had your own summer themed AC. No idea how feasable that would be from a marketing point of view, but to throw in different seasons all at once because during other people's Christmas the weather is different is a bit strange to be honest. For me, Christmas is a very home-y holiday so I like to surround myself with the (weather-)appropriate decoration. If others around these parts don't feel the same way, good for them. And if you don't like snowy stuff in your AC just like I dont like summerish stuff, you can always make your own. That's what I'm doing this year. Pretty fun too, I get to choose my own builds and minifigures, sometimes even tiny polybag sets. I decide to include multiple themes, and I'm almost done (I think). It's gonna be a blast with my wife and kids, just like last year's SW AC was -

Sure, why not? Would be interesting to see separate versions, one for both hemispheres Why should it be treated as such with a product like a Lego AC? No offense but during the Christmas season I really don't care about the existence of the southern hemisphere -

Yes it is, it is contrary in such a way for me that it ruins the mood I expect to get from an AC. I'm glad you like it (and I mean that) but if a set does not make me happy, then I'm out. Remember, it's not you I'd be enjoying an AC with nor anyone else from the southern hemisphere, but my own family. -

The AC is a definite no from me. The models are pretty good actually, but Tropic Vader and his sand castle are a deal breaker. I don't care that Christmas in the southern hemisphere is a summer affair, up here it's cold and I like my Christmas associated stuff snowy, even if it hardly snows anymore around here. The Vader figure is fun though.
