McCoyed's 3rd Anniversary Historica CMF Series
Slegengr replied to mccoyed's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great series, mccoyed! The dwarf sculptor is great! I also like the bard, especially the face. Nice parts usage for the glassblower and the pikeman! -
Great series, Infernum! It is hard to choose a favorite from so many great minifigures, but my favorite is the enlightened orc. Each component combines so well. I also like the Mitgardian Ambassador, the Kaliphlin warrior-for-hire, the desert plunderer, and the renegade Drow.

Nice minifigs, Tomsche! I like that rice-field worker and the Queen of Spies! Great parts usage and interesting combinations!

Great build, ME! The black tower with spikes works very well, IMO. That dead tree is great as well! The detail I like best is the rockwork. Studs-up rocks can still work very well, even though the technique is simpler than SNOT rocks. For a larger build like this, SNOT-rock is not necessary to look nice!

Great series, Lord Dan! I particularly like Hunter, the woodland sentry, the ranger, and the Mitgardian diplomat! Nice parts usage and combinations, especially with old and new torsos both forwards and backwards!
-
Great build, Kai! The ground, water, and rocks are all very nice and work well together. That is a great way to get the dwarves out of their tunnels and prevent them from entering Avalonia! My favorite detail is the overhanging water, rock, and ground at the top of the build to avoid a smooth "cut" side.

Great series, Robuko! My favorite is the fisherwoman with the great combinations all around: helmet/hair, head, torso, legs, accessories, pet bear! Interesting parts usage on Milady.

Welcome to Eurobricks, Danbitula! I am looking forward to seeing your spaceships and other MOCs! Have you considered using temporary pieces of the wrong color until you buy the piece in the correct color? This helps in generating new ideas and still experimenting with them. I do understand your concern with uniformity and detail, though.

Nice series, Legoloco! I also think the SW parts are utilized very well in these figures. The different skin colors for the elves is great as well! I really like the elves and your Order of the Burning Stag figs!

Interesting ship, Ska 2D2! Are those clouds below? This ship looks like one that would fly in space but not in atmosphere, unless it utilizes a repulsor-lift or similar technology. The shaping, styling, and greebling on this ship give it a very unique look. The weapons placement is great. Brick on, Ska 2D2!

Interesting starfighter, Phantom Terror! I really like small starfighters, and this one is great! The wing shape and fit of the cockpit and windshield are my favorite features. The color scheme is interesting, though I think it might look better with a secondary "paint" color fused with the white. The windshield and red lights make a nice contrast, but there is still a bit too much white. The fit of the wingtip guns is a nice morphing from gun to wing. Brick on, Phantom Terror!

Nice build, Matthias! The rocks and water are simple yet very effective, as is the dispersion of foliage in the build. The tower has a very nice "Imperial" feel to it. I like the tan corners with white walls. The balcony for the cannon is a nice idea, but there should probably be some diagonal braces attaching the underside to the wall (just being picky as an engineer ). The light at the top is a nice inclusion. The dock ladder is great as well. One of my favorite details is the inclusion of the traditional arches from El Dorado Fortress with the 1x2 tan slopes under white 1x4 arches. The detail of the build shows modern techniques, but nostalgia also plays a role due to the inclusion of such references to the original sets. Brick on, Matthias!

Very nice build, SarahJoy! My favorite is the simplistic realism of the fountain. The falling and pooling water are excellent! The wall is nice with the arched holes that access the ground from the battlements and with the variations in texture and color. The ground is excellent as well with the color and "material" variations. The photographs do not look bad at all to me. The phone camera must be fairly decent. Nice story as well! It is nice to see that not all creatures should be judged on appearance. Brutes are still ordinary beings! Brick on, SarahJoy!

Welcome to Eurobricks, LEGO3925! It sounds like you got a great deal for 90's LEGO sets. A price like that today would seem outrageous! I am looking forward to seeing what you build!

Great build and photos, Disco! I normally would say no to photoshopping, but I think what you did here is fitting and well done, except for how much the Drow blend into the background. A little contrast between characters and build might have been nice. The build is very well done as well. I like the cheese-slope mosaics and weapon cases in the walls, especially when combined with your excellent lighting effect. The photography here is excellent and really makes the light effect marvelous. Very Drow-ish indeed, both in build style and colors and in actions regarding diplomacy! Brick on, Disco!

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Slegengr replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Different colors go well together, IMO. I utilized different house colors for the families in my village. I also have plans for Challenge III or freebuilds to incorporate a new group with different coloring. The way I see it, green and yellow are the colors of the nation (Guild of Mitgardia) while individual villages or groups would have their own coat-of-arms and representative colors and sigils. On a side note, I do not know how much I will get completed for Challenge III. With my pieces packed away to move to a new house, I cannot build right now. As the holidays approach, my build time will be set aside for increased family time. I have my Category B build about half-way done and will complete it. I also have hopes to still build a story and representative scenes for Category C as time allows. Great to see continued freebuilds for AoM! Great work, everyone! -

Calling all LEGO Army Builders... (BATTLE TRAYS)
Slegengr replied to nine09nueve's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great, nine09nueve! These are nice simple trays for moving armies about in a battlefield. Interesting video to present them as well. Are the individual footmen standing on 2x3 plates to lock them in the 2x3 space? Also, do these have an advantage over standing minifigures on separate plates that are similarly sized? Can the trays be removed from the figures easily? -
Welcome to Eurobricks, Mr. Do! It is good to hear you broke your dark ages and now love to MOC. I am looking forward to seeing what you build!
