Amazing creation, blufiji! That swamp looks perfect with the vegetation and colors used! The stonework and roof are particularly nice on the fortress! The giant salamander looks interesting with the wooden armor, but it is a bit bulky (as is the usual case with armor added to molded creatures). I do think it works well for what I perceive to be a slow, lumbering beast. The swamp trees look really neat as well. The beacon on the battlements is a great idea!

One more thing to add: If you go to 'My BrickLink' tab, on the left there is a category labeled 'Search', below which is an option for 'My Settings', under which you can check the bottom box to allow filter options. These will show up at the top of each page when searching specific parts, right above the first part. Using the filter options, you can still search by best price to have the cheapest first, but can also search only for stores with a minimum quantity (set by you) of the desired part. You can also filter by country and, as notaromantic said, can also search by 'highest quantity' (seller with the most first) rather than the default 'best price' (seller with the cheapest first). These filters help very much in speeding up BrickLink searching. Hope this helps!

Welcome to Eurobricks, pavetsukkeli! I am looking forward to seeing what you build with Bionicle parts and other themes. Do you collect original sets or do you build your own creations?

Book 2 Challenge 3 Cat B: Misleading Directions
Slegengr replied to LordDan's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice build, LordDan! I also like the crack and the story with the instructions back into Mitgardia! A pick or shovel would be nice in the dwarf's hand... -
Nice intro, Andrew, and welcome to the coolest guild! I really like how you made the frozen island and I am anxiously awaiting the rest of the story!

Book 2: Challenge 3: Cat. C (Men's Quest) - On Avalonian Shores
Slegengr replied to Hammerhand's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great build, Hammerhand! I also like the supplies on the shore as well as the ocean wash on the beach! The rockwork is great, especially the curving stairs! I love the minifigure posing, especially the shield wall! -
Book II, Challenge III Cat B: In the halls of the Elves (Men's que
Slegengr replied to Bregir's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice build, Bregir! The hall has a very elvish feel to it that I like! The foliage on the doors and the potted trees are nice as well. The columns and arches give a nice cut-away view. -
Book II Challenge III Cat A: Joining the Dwarves
Slegengr replied to Emma's topic in Guilds of Historica
Excellent build, Emma! I also love the cold waterfall and the carved faces! Completing the back side is an excellent idea to make the MOC more realistic and give an even better presentation! -
Book II Ch III Cat A: Blessing of the Ancestors
Slegengr replied to Gideon's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great build, Gideon! I also think the dark-bley and sand-green are perfect, as are the alcoves and satues! Interesting story as well! That priest is going to have a lot to eat if there are no other priests!- 20 replies

Book II, Challenge III Cat A: A boast of victories to come
Slegengr replied to Bregir's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice inn and interior, Bregir! The chandelier is nicely done! The tables and cask rack are simple but effective. The dark lighting is fitting here, but I also think some yellow candle-lit glow would be nice.- 12 replies

Book II Challenge III Cat. A - Dwarven Obelisk
Slegengr replied to Yzalirk's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nicely done, Goliath! The lighting and placement in these photos is very dramatic! I like the use of forced perspective, though I agree about the bush. (I made the same mistake in a build once where the bush would be perceived to be about 20-30 feet tall !) Maybe you had not intended the obelisk to be much larger than actual scale? Anyways, nice build, especially the staging and photography! -
Book II Ch III Cat B: Infiltrating through the Necropolis
Slegengr replied to Gideon's topic in Guilds of Historica
Excellent build, Gideon! The photography here is excellent! The photos are a bit dark and shadowy, which is perfectly fitting for this build. Hopefully that does not also happen on builds not meant to be dark and shadowy. The rocks and tombs are well done, especially with the jagged top, the mottled sand-green moss, and the unkept feeling created by the tilted and falling skeletons and coffin lids!- 26 replies

Nice little build, LordDan! I also really like that table/bench combination (like a picnic table)! The tiled floor makes a great background for this build! Those guards must definitely be rookies to not have made sure to have a lookout for the boss!

Book II Challenge III Cat. C - Victory at Vimgolar
Slegengr replied to Yzalirk's topic in Guilds of Historica
Interesting build, Goliath! I agree with de Gothia that this has a pirate feel with the flintlock and uniforms, but I suppose the stretch could be made that dwarves are experimental tinkerers... still not my personal preference. I do consider bombard cannons acceptable, as they came into being during the historical "Medieval" era and were commonly used against castles. The elephantine look to the cannon is a nice idea, especially with the cannon being brick-built. The photos are nice, especially the angle through the arch aimed at the cannon. I would like to see that baseplate cleaned and more foliage added, but I understand limited parts usage. Keep on building, Goliath! -
[Simple Satisfaction] Ch.III Men Cat. C
Slegengr replied to Jakorin Swiftsword's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice inn, Jakorin! The wall and window technique, the chimney, the roof, the landscape and path, all nice details to take in! -
Great castle, de Gothia! The rounded corner, towers, and landscaping really stand out to me! The monochromatic color scheme for the stones works well in this case, and it fits your other builds and an Avalonian style very well! Nice work with the tower angled through the roof of the feast hall!

Crossing the border - Book II Challenge 3 Cat.B
Slegengr replied to jaapxaap's topic in Guilds of Historica
Excellent build, jaapxaap! As others have said, I love that tower and its fantasy/Blizzard appearance! The rockwork is fantastic as well, especially with the foliage and creeping vines. The chest is a nice idea to hide the dwarf! -
Excellent build, ME! The rockwork and exploding rocks are both very well done! Nice build and story to accompany! I really like the dark green mottled throughout the rocks in contrast to the brighter foliage in the trees. I am pretty sure someone else asked and it was stated in the entry thread that 16x64 would be acceptable, but I did not verify for sure.

Book II Challenge III A - Under Mt Erezhi
Slegengr replied to NiceMarmot's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great entry, NiceMarmot! The statue looks great, as does the bridge, rocks, and lava! The spiral staircase adds a nice touch. Nice activity with the minifigures, especially the addition of Gollum and the lava demon. You definitely fit a lot into such a small base! -
Book II Challenge III Cat. A - Paying Respect
Slegengr replied to mpoh98's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great build, mpoh98! The block-and-mortar technique for the wall is excellent! The use cheese wedges for the statue's arched legs is great as well, though I am not a fan of non-LEGO elements for the statue. The technique for the trees, as I am sure I mentioned on at least one of your builds, is also very nice.- 28 replies

Cliffside Catastrophe - Book II, Challenge 3, Cat. C
Slegengr replied to MKJoshA's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice series of builds, MKJ! The trees are interesting with the upside-down grass technique. The ballistas are simple but very effective and are a great idea. The broken columns of the old ruins set a nice atmosphere for the cliff of attack. Nice parts use on the ship, it makes for a very Medieval-looking cog. Poor elf, but one cannot expect dwarves to care about an elf considering the relationship between the races...
