Frontpaged on a Lego fanpage - and still I didn't realise at first it was made out of bricks. Enough said I guess. PS. Ok, one more thing: I really really love how you use minifigs in your scenes. It's vivid and alive, it gives the scene such life that (once again) you forget it is just a couple of plastic pieces.

The (possibly) final shuttle looks really nice. Was it still rumoured to be 20€? Now that would be nice.

He tried out if it is possible. I think. Not that "Follows Closely" has a 40,000$ lying around or likes to spend it on Lego, or even one single set. But I think he just tried if hte system accepts it. I just think it doesn't work like that. If they don't have 99 lying around, the will call you or cancel the order or something afterwards, not in that specific moment when you put them into the cart. That would mean a realtime system, and Lego doesn't have that. At a specific point they change the status from "in stock" to "call to see availability" - that's all.

While the new police station is not too bad (should switch all those blue into black for me, but that's just my taste) I still wish for a modular police station. 1930s black police car, trenchcoats, tommy guns, fedoras... boy, I'd love that!!

He is like this little guy: (only in black obviously)

or click here for the whole teaser. (In case you are too tired to unlock the page !)

Not only speaking for you and me (btw I am pretty happy but far from satisfied in getting the V-Wing...) but also in regard of the sales numbers! OT sets were and are selling like very hot cookies. I remember when the Echo Base or Landspeeder or Endor Battle were frequently sold out on s@h and they were selling pretty well on amazon. I don't remember there being such demand for, let's say the Freeco or other CW sets. Not only huge OT sets sell, also small ones. I thought TLC knows that.

Now this is so bad. Seems to be these cheap hollow plastic pieces that make a horrible sound when moving around (shiver..). Good idea though. Producing perhaps a few thousand of these, including the horrible design job and the photoshop-marketing without even buying a Lego set, I would say one costed the company less than a €, adding 1,50€ for package & distribution, and there we go. Some might pay the 30€ for it, next year they will put it on "sale" for 10€ and everyone still makes a fortune. Worst thing I've seen in a while.
-
The outer shape will be the most difficult thing to make, a stable saucer on a stick with interior? Wow... Good luck, mate! I guess if TLC ever makes a new version, it will be more like 10123 and less like the UCS Death Star I assume.

Do you think we'll get a Lego LotR or Lego Hobbit brand?
Zzz replied to Dollar Bill's topic in LEGO Licensed
nah, it is too late. Also kids who might buy lego sets don't read the books, and probably they are even a couple of years too young to watch the movies. It's just not fun like Indy or Harry Potter. It takes itself to serious and that doesn't attract kids, maybe teens but they don't buy too many sets anymore. I like the books but even I wouldn't get a set. It's a nice story but too boring to reenact or play with. -
Not to offend anyone who likes the new truck, but I am afraid it is the colours that makes the whole line a no go for me. I was a big fan of Town police, but the City police looks like an eyesore. Also the design with those clunky doors is a bit too strange. Crossing my fingers that the rumoured armored transport is not in the same white-blue..
-
Can you quote where on fbtb he said they are from the summer wave? Lots of people said that here, I didn't read anything about them being summer wave. Thanks in advance!
-
Thanks a lot, wasn't aware of that at all. And once in a life we get a Tokyo-set and then it is Duplo and based on a horrid Disney animation? Damn.. Still - fishing boat, marina, little harbour and even a new armored transport! (I am so crossing my fingers for not getting it in the ugly white/blue police style! - Start using some fancy colours for Town, TLC! Dark blue for this transport! And beige, dark beige, dark red for other things!!) I have great hopes for 2011!

He did not. Also, he is doing storyboards for TV commercials. As I posted several pages before, it is pretty obvious he has the droid carrier and Jedi shuttle sitting on his shelf. The only interesting fact is that he teases us with having seen a prototype for one OT 2011 set back in April or May, that he refers to as a "UCS Lobot". That's all. So let's not make up rumours based on wishful thinking.

Trading Collectable Minifigs Series 1, 2 and 3
Zzz replied to danim's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Have: Spartan sealed in bag Want: Tauntaun sealed in bag, complete assembly 6 pieces + saddle - EU only, prefer Germany! (costs me 6€ to send them over to the US, so don't ask please!) - long-term EB-member only! PM me if interested. -
Greg probably got the droid carrier (left in the pic) and the T-6 shuttle (middle of pic) plus another set of the January wave. I think the clone BP. The colours of the blurred parts tell the left model is smaller and brownish, the other one has white and is bigger. The minifigs you can see on the desk, there are battle droids, you may see a clone with one different coloured arm, and probably there is a Shaak-Ti close by. The sets he got are all January releases, hence the fact he said before there are no OT sets. The rumored Sandcrawler was made by another member (wishful thinking) on fbtb and all Greg said about any other sets besides the January wave is: he remembers seeing a prelim of ONE OT set. And he refers to it as "UCS Lobot". It is probably the April or May UCS Exclusive (like the AT-OT and dropship). No word about a second wave here. And he wouldn't be wise to do that, since there are no leaks yet. That's also why I think a possible UCS Cloud City will be in the first half of 2011. (he obviously refered to new clear parts by having Gungan shields. And there is no possible way - we discussed it already - to make clear minifig parts.)

Czech. Might be a mistake. And how our new member (welcome to EB, mate!) Augustus pointed out, it might not be true: As a OT/PT fan there is already a lot I can work with, even before talking about some pretty exclusives we might get. But we have to be careful not to get up our hopes high and be disappointed in the end. I would say, before anything appears on Jedinews (was always a 100% reliable) or from our members Whung or Legomilk (also, very informed members of EB), we might be a bit relaxed about this. Thank you, Augustus, for telling us more about the sources' reliability, that is too nice coming from a new member. (Sometimes new members do exactly the difference and pull our legs by spreading wrong rumours, so your behaviour is very much appreciated here!)

What the heck is that? Creator / Exclusives? And something from Tokyo? What could it be? Tokyo Tower? Big Ben(tley)? Also, the lighthouse seems listed between other Creator sets, might not be part of the Marina-theme. Still, I am really curious about that line. Fishing boat? New marina harbour? Amazing. Just what we wanted!
-
Nothing OT raises the chance of some pretty expensive exclusives. (Hope dies last) Not sure if that list could be really true, a whole year with no smaller OT sets? Didn't TLC sell literally TONS of Landspeeders and Hoth BPs? Geonosis sets seem a "pass" for me but more EpI sets are always welcome. Those podracers deserve a remake.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Zzz replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
No one except TLC knows. Depends on a variety of factors. Since the only possible answer you might get here is wild guessing, you'd better be off in getting it if you want it. Once it is hard to get, trust me, it will be hard to get. -
I guess 10€ is for the 2-pack. There is no way TLC will charge that much for a single minifg. What makes the single packs 5€, probably 5$ I would say.

What minifigs are we missing - post your detailed suggestions here
Zzz replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
After getting my greedy, nipponised hands on the Sumo and Samurai from S3, I just want one minifig to live in peace for the rest of my life: GEISHA Sex: female headgear: black geisha hair face: white with japanese make-up colour: white, bue, green or red kimono style (brick instead of legs) access: fan (!) -

Pics are gone from Brickshelf! What happened, Prince William? Can you provide us with another (deep)link) of the pics, please? I simply loved your creation and I absolutely need another closer look cause I didn't have the time so far! cheers -
Guess they don't need it if they just send out a few to business partners. The idea might be ok, but why didn't they ask someone who has at least some experience in designing? All these overpaid marketing managers sitting together in their handmade shoes and german design suits, talking about viral marketing campaigns and their unique B2B POS position - they send this piece of megabloks over to some CEOs? Wow. At least they didn't lose their humour, they need it when they try to keep up with Apple.
