Sounds plausible. Which is the one reason I am still a bit sceptic. No OT sets is a bit sad, but we got a lot this and last year. I guess we will see some in the summer then, new X-Wing, new Tie and perhaps even new Falcon. Naboo for 30 Euros? Keep in mind guys, in Germany sets with around 180 pieces (swamp speeder, Landspeeder, Freeco) sell for around 30€! So we can forget the N1 or AAT! I would say it is either a Flashspeeder with a couple of figs or some Gungans. It is probably a Flashspeeder with new QuiGon, Obi, Padme. I will have use for everything OT/PT (new figs!!) plus the Clone BP. Here is finger crossing for a camo ARF trooper!

I think 2010 is a very good year for LSW. 2002 and 2005 were rather disappointing but this year we got some lovely sets (and some boring and overpriced ones, I agree) CW was not really my cup of tea this year but the Freeco Speeder is excellent (and one of the few really new ones). Landspeeder is a great set (with all these figs), Slave I is a pretty nice model and the Rebel BP really delivers. But since I love starfighters and I am happy to see some Episode 3 sets again, I vote for the ARC170. It looks amazing.

Interesting. Could be, as you said a reissue of the old set with bricky magnets. Would make sense since TLC is bringing out lots of E3 sets these days. Old Yoda needs a redesign though.

I have to admit that, despite all the work being put into this by arealight plus the fair price he offers it, the naked part of her body looks more like a back of a girl, not like her front. (At least what I think, I might be wrong but she looks wrong way round) TLCs has a belly button and therefore looks much more sexy.

Ebay fails me... And how to trust Bricklink?
Zzz replied to Artifex's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Any chance not to use the inernet for old sets, Artifex? I have no idea where you live, what country, big city and probably it will be difficult for me to give some advise, but perhaps there is a chance..? Internet is great to make a few bargains from time to time but especially ebay is full of idiots who describe collectors items a bit or much more "mint" than they actually are. Something that made me pay a lot more and buy only NEW items, but even then some people are lying about that. I can understand you, I want to say. Try to see if you can make some face to face deals or give BL a chance. I have no experience with used items (accidently got a used one once while ordered a new one, but seller was very sorry and it seemed really a mistake) but new ones were always flawless, perfect. YOu get the feel that the guy ont he other side really cares. So, give it a try or stick to my first advise: Try to make a deal like in the past, before the internet. What did we do then? Reading local fleemarket adverts? Or even making an own one? Good luck anyway : ) -

oh, we will see. Some more pics of the comic con hopefully, that's what I am more interested now. Or was it just a teaser TLC is going to give us here. (Doesn't this go to licenced themes actually?) -

I don't think we will see ships like The Imperial Flagship, in that size. The PotC ships need a lot of details, minifigs, plus they sell a bit higher than normal sets, and I doubt TLC expects us to pay a 200 Euro for a set of a new line. For SW it seems to work now, making all the sets bigger and more expensive, but I doubt they start doing that with a new theme. Look at Toy Story, Indiana Jones and PoP, the biggest sets are about 75 or 85 Euros, and I guess they will have a hard time selling Toy Storys Train Chase set 7597 for that price. I guess 100-120Euros will be the maximum for a set and there is no chance of a huge Port Royal Playset or so. Small or medium sized sets, there will be some.. I expect the duel between Jack and Will from part 1 to be a 20 Euro set, the chinese harbour to be about 35 and for 15, well, let's see! But I cannot await it! :) -

WOW. I am amazed. Ok, I saw this coming but seeing this minifig just makes me want to have it!! I am sure the quality of buildings and figures will be on the very high level of PoP, and I thought those prices are kind of fair, especially the castle for 80Euros. One thing they need to fix though is giving (yes, even!) more figures. PoP was a mess, you need to get all the sets to receive all the interesting parts and minifigs...;) well, I know it was marketing. I said it before and I say it again (though purists will hate me): Star Wars is the better Space, Indy the better Adventurers and no one can deny that the PoP castle was by far the best one we got since 15 years. PotC will be so much superior to 2009 pirates then 2 cookies to one. -
It is nice but too much for the niche market perhaps. I always dreamed about some 100Euro sets with a city layout, system scale, a few vehicles and buildings. London would have been a great start, then New York, Tokyo, etc.. Whatever, it is one nice set and I am happy for the ones who get it!
-
Looks brilliant! But once again I would have gone for a new System one or a .. cheaper one. Will probably have some time to think about it cause UCS x expensive x Episode 2 will not make it such a hunted item, me thinks. : )

As an owner of 4483 I have to say I am tempted by Bespin Han (finally!) and Lukes new helmet. Also I am always ready to throw in a 10 euros for the Snowtroopers, Rebel Scout and the Laser. Can't have enough of these. But the actual model... I don't know. The neck looks nice. (Let's me feel like talking about an unwanted employee: "He was always there!") But despite that it cannot live up with 4483. Guess I will wait to get Han and Luke with another set. Minifigs don't sell things to me. They just add to the value. I think my money is better invested into the Tantive 4, which I still need to get. It is a much nicer vehicle.

Every era had some great sets. Even the Clone Wars.
-
Bad idea. BL and ebay sellers sure take the ones from the magnet sets in most cases, even if they state it is from set xxxx. About the topic: they are different but not bad. Even figures from the sets differ in quality and plastic from time to time. You never know.
-
Looks amazing. But what is more amazing is the fact it holds less people than the old system one. This is a pure display thing and I was afraid of that when I heard of it for the first time. I am sorry, but I rather play with my things and I cannot even get an Endor crew into this thing. I would have prefered a bigger system one, cause I can buy lots and lots of playthings for that money rather than having a dust-collector. No offense though and I understand why you guys freak out. Just not my tea.

yes, we all got it. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=7676-1

I would have gone for the muscle torso..

D2C Designers requesting feedback for 2012 models
Zzz replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1 no 2 individual 3 sphinx! 4 a redesign (not reissue) of a classic space set, perhaps 928 or 6950 with a 1500+ pieces and on high design standard 5 bring us one final Indiana Jones sets, or two, please! -
You don't need permission. Advice is to look carefully at the market, find a demand, calculate your costs, calculate your time, find your personal break-even-point, set a price, make up your mind if you use ebay, EB or BL, think of limited editions or even garanteed uniqueness, try to protect your copyright, make instructions (CD or print), think how to ship it in a nice way and when to buy the bricks, advertise everywhere, good luck! Ask yourself the following questions: - Do I want to make profit and/or just someone else happy? - Do I show everything about my MOC (that people think "I can do that by myself!") or almost nothing (people less interested) - How much value does the time that I invest has? - How high is my personal/financial risk? - When do I buy the parts? (as you can see, these are some questions, and they might be hard to answer. But you need to.) And I cannot stretch it enough: - WATCH THE MARKET! Look at other people who make MOCs and sell them. You may find.. cough.. some here ..cough... on EB. See how they are doing. What items are sold out? What items don't they seem to sell? What price do they want for either? Just a few thoughts, good luck, mate!

I know this is a bit off-topic, but.. WHY do you want to change it to PF if it is your first train? I assume you want to get some PF trains in the future, but wouldn't it be easier to change them into 9V? I have to admit, I am old-school when it is about trains, but 9V is superior in a lot of ways me thinks...

Would have prefered an ARF Clone in Camo. A trans blue Obi-Wan. Mara Jade Skywalker. Leia in Stormtrooper disguise. Anything. But a white Boba feels like getting rid of old minifig parts more than something "exclusive".

What other SW "Battle Packs" would you like to see?
Zzz replied to BearHeart's topic in LEGO Star Wars
No need for Mandolorians for me. But I guess I am the only SW fan who doesn't like the hype around Boba Fett and would prefer if there is only him, not thousands exactly looking like him.. I guess the TV series will not switch to Phase 2 clones too soon, so meanwhile I would love to have a pack with Phase 1 variations: - 1 Clone cold assault trooper - 1 Clone swamp trooper (as mentioned here pretty often as the Kashyyk Trooper) - 1 Arf Trooper with Camo - 1 Clone Scuba Trooper or 1 CLone Naval Officer or whatever plus speeder bike They all appeared in the TV show (Scuba guy in the first animation) and I think it would be a great way to have some variety, also it would encourage people to buy several, who doesn't want to have a small platoon of ARF Camo troopers...? I would! -
REVIEW: Portal of Atlantis 8078
Zzz replied to daoudbazaar's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Love those sharks... But will not get the set just for them, don't really know what to do with the rest.. Still, great review and good set! -
Great work. Got all the comics from my dad and loved them. Read them over and over and over again. Today it is amazing how politically incorrect they were... Love them. Good choice on elements. Good prints. Snowy works very well!

Great review, CM - interesting picture selection, love it. The SP Central is possibly one of the strongest sets this year. I very much like the approach of having something between space and city. A scifi city or a more cityish space, however, it is nice. The truck is lovely, you just look at it and hear the heavy motor roaring. Office, garage door, paradisa windows and overall look - pretty. Wonder if I will get it. But I guess I should.... If there is ONE SP3 set to get, it is this one. If there is ONE space set to get since the amazing Ice Planet 1993, it could be this.

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
Zzz replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Better than the first series for me. More figs I love, less I dislike. Especially love all the yellow parts - very useful since the normal themes don't give us those!
