  1. "Now what?" could also happen with your Star Wars collection, with the Metro Liner or even your girlfriend or the new car. This just happens. Tells something about you, but not so much about the Lego figure, I guess. Try to find out what approach of collecting/playing/MOCing/ hunting Lego makes you truely happy and go for it!
  2. Just a reminder, this year's exclusive was 37€ for 176 parts, 4 minifigs. Guess there is better value around next year. Here is hoping for an ETA still. All these Deltas get annoying in such short time.
  3. Are there any news on the prices, especially for those small sets? While their content seems rather marginal at least, the action-figure style packaging seems to shout out 5€ to me.
  4. Thanks a lot for the comments so far! And sorry, Oky Wan, I wasn't aware of yours! I searched google, flickr and EB for it and came up with nothing. My inspiration was seeing this and I immediately thought about the Exo-Force minifig head, so my Skywalker became the centerpiece of this. More figures would become repetitive, I am afraid, since there are only 6 different manga heads. I used 4 already, then there is one with a bandana that doesn't fit any character and Hayato, whom I don't seem to possess. Again, どうも あいがとう (thank you) for C&C!
  5. They surprised us again! Amazing set, though with a bit of lack of exclusive parts or minifigs. Not saying it is bad, but there could have been a bit more. It's ok though, since the price per piece ratio is a gift and "Exclusives" were never that famous for their new parts or minifigs, but for their design. I found it funny that they chose the MMV designer for this, since I guess most of us had the same thought when seeing this (a HP MMV!). The only concern for all the people with limited space is: this or Hogwarts?
  6. The other day I saw that there are actually Manga versions of the Star Wars movies IV, V, VI and I! It gave me this idea and after researching and not finding something like this here or elsewhere, I decided to share it. My favorites are ルーク (Luke) and ベン (Ben), the other's hair is a bit boring and should be more japanised, but anyway, here you go! Arigato for looking!
  7. 1. BP with 91st Reconnaissance Trooper / Bogey Squad Clone / Cpt Rex Phase II / Clone Paratrooper (all non-CW) 2. Jedi Temple Exclusive Playset. E3 style with normal, non-CW figs. 10 Jedi, 2 kids, 4 troopers, mini RGS and JSF in small hangar (ships like Vaders Tie in DS) 3. ESB Falcon with 2000 pieces, interior
  8. Thanks for the pics. Hope they change the old ski-piece on the BARC Speeder - I hate it that they still use an old hinge-piece with those things gone since almost ten years or so.
  9. Really? I thought that also the PC and 360 suffer from it cause of the same faulty source code or something! I tried to check it out though but there are no people whatsoever who buy the PSP version, everyone got a console these days. If everyone on EB knows bout it, please tell me! Cheers
  10. Just one thing: Does the "Basement of Doom" also appear in the handheld versions, NDS or PSP? Thanks for an answer, considering getting this, but not if it's buggy!
  11. Clone O'Pottra, you just made an amazing review with that! I am very much looking forward to your next one. About the set, I have to say that after reading your review I really consider getting it, it seems almost perfect (no Ron though) and fun! Thanks a lot!
  12. To answer the topic starter's question in some way, let me tell you that blindly collecting one theme is never as satisfying as keeping your eyes and ears open. Perhaps in the end you decide not to try another theme, but whatever, you checked it out and thought about pro and contra - and that is important. You collect PT? So you might not get the new Arc170 (since you have the old one) in favor for another set of another theme, cause they are pretty much the same. Just an example. ALways stay open to new stuff and if you like a set, get it, but there is no need to collect an entire theme. What I cannot stress enough: One might like a theme for a couple of great sets. There is no need to raise their "value" or to keep concentrated on them/ interested in them in getting new and obviously not so interesting sets from the same theme, just that your great sets have some company. Never collect. Only go for great stuff. Just my advice though. And I have to think about this pretty often, collecting becomes tricky when you do it just for the reason, not for your interest. When the pleasure comes out of collecting, not of having the actual set. But we are always captured in that pattern, collecting. This is how a lot of video games work btw. They keep you in it for the collecting part, mainly not for the fun. About me, I have lots of City, Train, most of M-Tron, the complete 1989 Pirates and about 20 Technic and Model Team sets from my childhood (yeah, the collector pattern, it is there - I always wanted to have castle back then, cause it was great, but never got a single set - cause it didn't fit! And went for some boring City sets. Bad choice.) And from after the dark age, I have mostly OT and PT SW, one CW set (but multiple BPs), a couple of Adventurers sets, some Exo-Force, almost all Indy sets, all the Coll. Minifigs and a couple small ones from here and there. I think about getting some PoP and HP sets this year, perhaps one of the new 2011 Adventurers and possibly PotC sets. I can better resist now to the "collector thing" and said "no" to eg. Indys Flying Wing (hate that wing piece) or some SW sets that are boring. Time and money is too precious for me to waste on things I just get for the collection. cheers and lots of fun with your castle guys, if you'll go for them!
  13. (Boy, what filthy spam crap ) On topic: One of the best themes we ever got in my book. Amazing minifigs, new pieces and colours, animals! The buildings look amazing, and it gave us something we never had, an oriental castle theme. I am very sorry that it doesn't seem to sell too well, in a lot of countries the sets are already on sale, just half a year on the shelfs.. That is really disappointing, and makes me afraid TLC will not decide that freely to go for new themes like these in the future. Relying on City and Creator helped them avoid bankruptcy and whatever we want or say, it might be true that those "basic" (no offense, City-lovers!) sets make the money. The decision for PotC seems to be home and dry, luckily. Otherwise they might want to overthink that. Going to the movies or buying a DVD doesn't make you buy a Lego set it seems. And I found it very strange since the PoP sets work really well without the Disney and licence thing and the prices are fair (no Swamp-Speeder-ing here). As I said befrore, they are amazing, not considering the movie at all. Enlighten me, but there doesn't seem to be a demand for historical minifig themes. Either that or everyone was just waiting to buy and prices will skyrocket like Batman or SW after they are gone.
  14. I like EF a lot, no worries. But it got bashed here a lot. Just thought that people might stop bashing it now?! cheers
  15. At least Ninjago makes Exoforce sparkle like a diamond. And I guess those Ninja minifigs will be ok.
  16. Thanks a lot for the pics! I was very excited about this but also a bit too optimistic.. First of all, I guess the final characters will be a lot like Adventurers' main crew, meaning young Indy guy, older prof, sexy girl and badass muscleman (probably to man the guns and fly the biplane). Second, let me say how this would have been more my taste: CUT the giant scorpion and snake, cut half of the mummies, replace blue with tan. ADD camel, native helpers, camp for the adventurers, palms, 2nd faction. Or, to cut it short, just take a bit of speed out of the whole thing. These sets look like a SWAT team entering Egypt and jelling "fast, fast, move it out, red team!" In my imagination it kind of stops there. Thinking about the old Egypt theme (12 years ago, boy, I am old!) there was a lot of mystery and a slow approach, the other faction stealing the map from the camp in the night, finding them, finding the temple, the curse of the pharaoh, avoiding the traps, etc etc. It was like you imagine going to Egypt and looking for a temple. It led to imagination. These new sets avoid the same. So these sets can be used to spice up my old Adventurers a little, if even. The price point is something that makes me shiver. Not even Indy or PoP had a 100€ set, neither does Toy Story, and these are all licences. TLC has a lot of faith in this series, it seems. I will see if there will be some bargains and then decide, cause in the end Mutts motorcycle, tan pieces and new adventurish minifigs are always welcome!
  17. I like Laras position, looks very "divy"!
  18. Yes, TLCs marketing makes decisions that are hard to understand, especially for someone who studied that. On the other hand it might be no disadvantage to act like a small, family-driven company. Some of them make it. But to be honest, most of them, especially toy makers, won't. And yes, especially on the SW forum people are treating the prelim pics like the final product. Almost every second post was about that when the first pics came out. Extremely frustrating that is. But that only on a side note. I am very happy that the rumored samurai/ mongolian /eastern warrior turns out to be a japanese! I never got the 1998 (?) sets and I am too happy TLC takes care about fans of Nippon! Ninja, Karateguy, Samurai and even Sumo! Great!
  19. So there are pics of SW, City, Minifigs, Atlantis, Creator... hopefully some Pharao pics very soon!
  20. Looks good to me for a prelim. I am a big fan of the outback city sets like R3 (Rocky River Retreat) or R2 (River Runners), and I welcome the addition of a minifig. Why not? Just the pricetag of 30€ seems a bit too much for such a tiny house. Left from it should be the mentiones helicopter transport btw.
  21. Just you! Landspeeder, Arc 170 and the ESB BPs? Now that's my choice. Even the Freeco and the Tri-Fighter were good sets! For 2011, only V-Wing and Naboo really get me, might get one Mando on BL if he looks like Jango, and from the Clone BP only half of it seems interesting. I'll pass on the CW Jedi, I want only real minifigs!
  22. They didn't even wait a year after Indy to pull back out the Adventurers, and then also with their strongest subtheme! Amazing. Looking forward to these and wonder in what time it takes place, seems 1920s to 1930s again, what would be amazing for the vehicles and minifig parts! Looking forward to the Sphinx especially! Just a bit concerend it might be too combat-oriented as someone on a german page said. Will see.
  23. We got some E3 sets this year: the Arc-170, Tri-Droid, Palpis Shuttle, Swamp Speeder. Even a magent set! It seems alright for TLC to release these, and trying to avoid the main characters that also appear in the CW, since the TV series is still closer to E2. So my guess is, that if the series moves along and gets closer to E3, there might be a chance to get a few new E2 sets. No big overlapping there then. If they would include the characters that appear on the show, well, that is another thing and I doubt it. They seem to avoid confusing customers, or the buyers of the sets, parents who don't have a clue about their child's hobby. (Anakin/Vader and Palpi are an exception of the rule since they underwent some heavy .. emm .. let's call it "facelift" during E3, so they might be different enough to their CW counterparts) This might be the current TLC guideline in the moment imho, but I might hopefully proved wrong soon! (When there will never be any PT sets anymore except CW -- - nooo! )
  24. Hello guys and girls! I have C-3PO / Y-Wing Pilot / Stormtrooper and would like to trade against Naboo Pilot, Slave Leia and Obi-Wan - only the whole bunch and in the EU, otherwise it's useless with postage. They are in perfect condition, never been played with, never displayed - and yours should be the same! PM me if interested so we can talk about details! I have a 100% rating with 200 votes on ebay! I will also throw in a custom sandtrooper pauldron (like the real one) if you send first. Thanks for reading!
  25. You are both right. In the EU it was a s@h exclusive, in the US it was for TRU. And somewhere else the swamp speeder was available everywhere while the landspeeder was an exclusive. Guess down under? Anyway.. Guess chances are high for an exclusive.
