Hi Karalora welcome to EB -- good to see another So. Cal AFOL and Disneyland fan here. I am a Disneyland (and other Disney parks) fan as well. Yeah, some Disneyland Parks models would be great. I can totally identify with the vanishing space issue which necessitates a reduction in sets purchases. I am down to the Modular of the year, the Winter Village set of the year and maybe one or two more. Mouse Ear LEGO caps -- Great! Andy D

Like many others, when I see an interesting building or what-not I think -- I can build that with LEGO! I am constantly planing MOCs for Halloween and Christmas. Andy D

ACPin, this is really quite nice. Great rock/landscaping work and the fact that it can be displayed in so many ways us just the icing on the cake. Thanks for sharing this, Andy D

Great! A very nice change from all the bley castles we see. The style (to me) kind of says Anglo-European goes to the desert, and used the materials available there to make a castle. Andy D

It's bigger on the inside! Great job! You really captured the console well. Looks like lots of hours to build. I really like how you have included so many Doctors, bound to include everybody's favorite that way. Thanks for sharing, Andy D

Determine exact piece count of your own collection
Andy D replied to Trunkbass's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have given up on knowing "exactly how many pieces" I have. I use a Basebrick to give me an idea if I have a part I may need. Most importantly in my organization I am trying to store parts in some kind of order, so when I find I need a certain part I have a good idea where to look in my collection if I have such a part. I am trying to quit buying parts I already have (done that way too many times). Andy D -
MOC: LEGO Creator - Clockwork Robot (31040)
Andy D replied to Adeel Zubair's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I forgot to ask --- does any of the models include all the parts to build the other two? If so, which one? I plan to collect all the parts to build this (examine my inventory) so I was wondering which model I should look to, to inventory the parts. Thanks again. Andy D BTW: when I first started reading this I thought it was already a LEGO set (not necessarily an Ideas project). As a result I was half-way out the door going to the LEGO Store, then I read on. I hope this makes it to a LEGO set... I will buy 3! -
MOC: LEGO Creator - Clockwork Robot (31040)
Andy D replied to Adeel Zubair's topic in Special LEGO Themes
@Adeel -- Very, very impressive. I am not sure I have seen a fan created 3-in-1 before. Thanks for the LXF files. As a Doctor Who fan I really like your Robo Dog. I plan to build them at some time. I don't often support Ideas projects, but yours is an exception. Thanks for sharing this. Andy D -
Wow! Correct! What gave it away? Andy D

I haven't really warmed up to 12 yet. My favorites are 11, 4, 10, and 9 I just haven't really watched enough of the others to warm up to them yet. Still collecting DVD's of all the old Doctors, maybe I'll warm to some of the others as I watch more. Andy D

Normally I mainly just build modulars, but As a long time Doctor Who fan I will get the Doctor Who set. I just may get the Wall-E set as well. Andy D

March's Double VIP- What are you buying?

If anything, it will be the Detective Office. Andy D -
Congratulations to all! Great entries all, the winning entries deserve to have won. Andy D

I'm still waiting for my flying car... They were promised in the 50's. You did a wonderful job with the Mid Century Modern inspired build. The textures of the terraces, pavement, the windows. Mid Century Modern is one of my favorite styles. Andy D

Looks great so far... Too funny! Looking forward to 26. Andy D

What should or should not be on Lego Ideas?
Andy D replied to Wodanis's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The only thing EB can change is how it is presented in the forums. When I select a topic link only to find one photo, or worse yet just a link to an Ideas entry and a beg for support I am disappointed. If there was a special section for Ideas postings, or a special indicator in the title like there is for MOCs and WIPs that would help, maybe a title of "Please support my Ideas project" instead of a title of the entry. Just like EB had a special section for buying and selling, maybe a special section for Ideas postings. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D -
What should or should not be on Lego Ideas?
Andy D replied to Wodanis's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Maybe we just need a special section here on EuroBricks for people to tout their LEGO Ideas projects. I can't tell you how many times I have selected a link to someone's MOC (which I thoroughly enjoy looking at) only to find it is only someone begging for votes for their project. Some projects are OK but many posts are one photo and a plea for support. If there was a special section here on EB I could choose to look or not and not see a MOC which is just a plea for support. My complaint is not about the Ideas project, but how it is handled here on EB. Evidence of this problem is someone who just today posted a topic... It sounded interesting but when I got there I found only a link to an ideas project and a request for support. It seems that some are just using EB as a place to beg for support. A special section would solve a number of problems. People who like to look at Ideas projects could and people who don't would not be misled by topic titles. Good for people who build projects for Ideas, but I would like it better here on EB if I knew what was an Ideas project with a request for votes or a MOC just asking for C&C. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D -
What should or should not be on Lego Ideas?
Andy D replied to Wodanis's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There could be a reduction in submissions if there was a charge to submit an idea. Also instead of a popularity contest I think LEGO Ideas should be crowd funded, not just a vote of support, but a commitment to buy, like Kickstarter. If the project makes it you get one, if not you get a refund. This could slow the rampant LEGO Ideas explosion of everyone who creates a MOC thinking it should be a set. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D -
I look at a MOC as a piece of artwork, not just a collection of bricks and time. What is the value of an art piece? Andy D

+1 For the best answer to the original question. Words to live by! Andy D

I think this says a lot... But if anything is taking over your life, even your job, there can be problems. But all that said, I can think of worse things to occupy one's time. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D

@fred67 It looks like you have a pretty good system going. For the "odd ball" pieces, what I do is just put them all together "like you said" but when I get too many I try to break them down into different varieties of "odd ball". There might be "odd ball" decorator pieces and maybe "odd ball" structure pieces. It's not just "odd ball", but different varieties of "odd ball". Just like sorting bricks from plates or torsos from legs, just categories. IHTH Andy D

Thanks. It is still a WIP though, it needs work on the outside, and it may make the roof removable. Andy D
