  1. @RM8,.. i dunno,.. what i did maybe a moderator can remove the other post. Anyways, i did struggled a bit with those gears you mentioned, as you can see i allready braced the 12t gear, which works really well. the 20t gear I am afraid i cant brace any stronger but its sufficient enough actually as i allready got the dreaded grinding at the dif. so.. i thought up a solution for that. which,.. well, makes the 12t and 20t gear grind once again. so its either the dif grind or the grinding of the 12t and 20t gear. offcourse i could also find a way to directly connect the universal joint,.. but i dont want here's a picture of the steering. @TheItalianBrick Thats not a bad idea actually,.. dont know if i can pull it of though as i still need room for 3 M-motors.. thanks for the comments guys
  2. Hey hello fellow builders, i dont know if i will finish in time but i will try,. For quite a while i´ve been wanting to make something like a towtruck, i know i am not the first and seeing all these awesome creations made by some of you guys i knew i didnt want to make another peterbilt or kenworth, but since i really do like US trucks i decided to go with this. The basic design for the chassis and cab is pretty much done. the location for the fueltanks isnt really logical for a towtruck and lots of kodiak´s and topkicks have the fueltank and sidesteps combined but i needed space for both the L/motors and gearing. As for the gearing, no gearbox only some reductions. The front axle has leafsprings and is only held by two pins, but its actually strong enough, also it will make it really easy to convert to a 6x4. The rear axle is perpendicular (right?) in two directions so it will move nicely over bumps and such. As for the crane and everything behind the cab, i am not sure yet. I also havent decided where to put the M-motor which will be used for the steering. Anyways, here's what i got so far. (srry for the crappy image quality) Cheers!
  3. Sorry for the double post, this thread can be closed or removed.
  4. 0o,.. really awesome so far, always been a sucker for trucks as these. Keep it up!
  5. Wow i really like this. Absolutely love the suspension.
  6. Back to the future... i like it.
  7. yeah yeah,.. whatever,.. just avoid what UEV stands for ;) looks really nice so far!!
  8. My favorite... really like the dawnbreaker aswell. And zblj's foxy, but this is my fav.
  9. First shit bricks than teach them tricks! And other stories unheard about tony the turd. Instructions available at rebrick-that-shit.
  10. Enigmatic ultratastic victotron. will it be able to fly?
  11. It looks pretty cool! Some more pictures would be nice :) maybe the underside suspension etc.
  12. Turned out great! Can we see it drive.. please
  13. I wonder how much is known about 3rd party tires for the smaller lego rims,..
  14. you could also use a 3L axle with a stop,.
  15. The body looks very nice! I hope you get your gearbox issue's fixed.
  16. @zblj & jantjeuh, its indeed that tire, i used tape on the inside for the proper shape. Its not that fragile actually, the piece that guides the strut and is connected to the 9l axle does bend a bit as compression increases but its doesnt get loose from the axle, maybe because the strut is pivoted slightly diagonal and the forces on the guiding piece are directed slightly inwards. @lpe, you are right about the bump steer, sharp 8) with suspension compressed steering increases on both the inside and outside wheel.
  17. Very nice machine, seems to perform real well!
  18. kinda bumped into this by accident but i thought it would be worth sharing. Its a small mcpherson design with adjustable toe in/out and caster, steering works fine regardless. wheelbase is pretty much unaffected. srry for the crappy pics.
  19. Thats really cool. Like the use of the pistons :)
  20. Afaik? Plz enlighten me acronymz are not my specialty :P
