SHIELD vs. HYDRA Mafia - Day 5

Oh, we've discussed the blocks and protection and the possibility of conversions. We just can't figure out an explanation that makes any sense. -

To argue a bit (since no one else is), I don't think most people would react to a single vote on them, so I wouldn't put too much weight there. And since we've had a couple unanimous votes, it makes vote analysis tough. Still worth looking at, so thanks for pointing out that oddity. It is worth consideration. -

Interesting that you should suggest that, Walter. My records show you as being one of the two remaining vanilla claims... which makes me wonder what you are: 1. A scum that forgot you'd claimed vanilla? 2. A legit townie? 3. A scum doing some serious WIFOM, hoping that by suggesting his own execution we will think he's loyal and keep him around? I'd hope you're #2, but I am struggling to make that logically work. Why offer yourself up as a kill to scumhunt if you know you're town? I've seen that happen before, but only when there was rampant debate and so the townie offers to be lynched to prove their loyalty and remove themselves as a distraction from the hunt. That doesn't apply here; you've been nearly silent! Unfortunately, we don't have a clear scum from last night's results. So we need to all discuss, work, and find the (hopefully last) scum! -

Come on people - it's been all day. Anyone have ANYTHING to say? -

Woo - so James was lying, as we thought. Way to scare us there, Mr. Fury... But obviously there's someone left. So who's the 4th scummo? -

Well James, thanks for trying to keep it interesting. Can't wait to see the scum flip tomorrow, and hopefully the Shield victory with it. And no, I don't think everything has to be exactly like the wiki or that all neutrals are bad. I think I even put out an invitation earlier this game for neutrals to claim and work with us - too bad you didn't come forward then. And roles that have claimed (and been backed up with results) have indeed been exactly like the wiki - so evidence shows that THIS game DOES follow it. -

Since we've got some time left.... let's assume that James is scum #3 and there's a 4th out there that we need to find. Votes for who #4 is and why? -

The host IS lying to YOU though if you show up different than you expected. Any role that does that that I've ever heard of (godfather, miller, etc) it's a known thing to the player. -

Exactly - since you'd be lynched either way, it does NOT increase the difficulty. I suppose there's a 1% chance that a neutral survivor might be able to talk the town into living, but it's close enough to zero to not matter. Second, for a neutral party to appear as scum would mean the host is LYING to the players (unless there's some framer or insane cop or something like that). And hosts don't lie to the players, or the game becomes crap. And no, I'd be SHOCKED to have 2 different 3rd parties going in a game this size. It's rare enough in a huge game. I can't imagine that Alyssa is scum - if she was, she'd have to be the only scum left after James is lynched, so he'd know we'll vig kill her just to be safe (assuming she hasn't already claimed a PR to the block...) He's just desperately flailing and trying to get a townie killed. And at this point, it doesn't matter. Even if we do kill her and she is town and there's another scum left, we'll catch them tonight with all the PRs we have left. So his stories just serve to add some interest to the end of the game, for which I thank you sir. -

You're right, we would have lynched you as a third party as well - so that's why having a supposed survivor appear as scum makes absolutely zero sense. -

Ok James... I checked into the roles you're claiming. Both werewolf and survivor are mafia roles, but they are NOT the same. So why would our host have mixed them up, when all the other role claims I've gotten were exactly stock, just like MafiaScum describes them? Werewolf Survivor Of special note, there is NOTHING there to suggest that survivors should be reported as scum to an investigation. It's a hard enough role to pull off - why would Mr Fury make it even harder? And the other question - on what basis are you claiming that Alyssa is a SK? We don't have any evidence of one being here (in fact, the low night kills would indicate there is NOT), and I have no reason to suspect that she is a SK at this point. -

Oh please do - that's always the best part, when the villain stalls for time and brags about his/her/their plan. In this case though, I don't think even you think you're in a position of power. Either we win with your lynch, or there might be 1 more left and it won't take long to hunt them down as well. -

Well, sir, let's see if you think this is making something of nothing. YOU ARE SCUM. I investigated you last night and you are full-blown Hydra scummy scumness. So let me open the voting with Vote: James Cunningham (Bob) -

Yeah, pictures don't contain clues. So why do you think they do? What does getting a pineapple have to do with getting dead? The pineapple just seems like a joke / prank role, if it's from a role at all and not just a funny thing in the story. -

Yes, 2 kills last night. Or didn't you read there Walter? How do we explain the lack of kills? I think there's been too many missing kills for blocks/protects to explain them all. If Kinjobby was the vig, that couldn't explain a scummo dying night 2. Steven said he was vanilla before he got lynched. Sorry Walter... had my post typed up and got distracted and submitted it later without seeing if you'd already responded. -

Good morning! As you can see, David was lying and I was right. I feel very good about our chances of rooting out whatever Hydra remain. I'll share night info once I've heard from a few people.... but in the meantime, discuss amongst yourselves. -

The "more than one scum" thing is like I said, as we sort through all the claims that have come in, thanks to me claiming publicly. -

But that's not what I did (and like Jeffrey, kudos on fighting on even when you're a sure lynch and will be outed tomorrow, and you'd make a great politician with how you twisted reality and selectively mentioned just certain parts to "prove" your point...). I revealed to you only very slightly before revealing to EVERYONE, on the chance that I was wrong. If I'd been wrong and not revealed to you, then the town would have been left in massive chaos since the conflicting claims would not have been explained and people wouldn't have know who I was investigating each night. Normally I wouldn't out the investigator on day 3, but in this case, it was worth it since I knew that a scum would get caught whether I lived or died and a good chance more than one as the claims were sorted through. -

Wow, that's a load of crap. When has there ever been a game here with no normal investigator? I don't remember any (doesn't mean there haven't been, but I sure can't recall one). Take the Kingdoms adventure that I was reading recently - fewer people than here, with just an investigator and blocker, but that was with 3 (split up) scum and an independent survivor. I'm guessing 3 or 4 united scum here, so a little more investigative ability makes sense. No investigator would be brutal on the town - sure, watcher and tracker are interesting, but they don't give you any real info towards alignment until you start to combine their results with other info. The town almost HAS to have an investigator to start getting a few people together that trust each other. Correct - I was concerned that Jafar could be a godfather, and so sharing it with just "that side" of the conflicting claims risked my death taking all the knowledge down with me. David had actual tracker results on me, whereas Jafar/David could have faked their claims easier. But since I wasn't sure which side I could trust, I held the info until it was hopefully too late for the scum to change their night actions based on it. -

He knew he was being investigated when I sent the info out just a couple hours before the start of the day - so AFTER any night actions would have been in. That's why I dind't send that info out (to several people) until the last minute before I went to bed, to make sure that the scum couldn't act on it. I meant he knew at the start of the day I had sent in an investigation on him, so as long as that succeeded, he was busted. -

Oh, I haven't forgotten that. We have a good lynch today, and we can look at Jeffrey tomorrow. Nothing wrong with discussing now though. Why are you SO convinced that night 1 had no scum kill? A smart vig would have stayed home (assuming we have one, and I'm not wanting to assume ANYTHING at the moment), the scum can kill anyone they want, and we don't know that there's a SK. In fact, it's definitely possible that there's no SK given the size of the group. Jeffrey, if you have anything to add, please do. Bigger picture, If there is a vig or SK, then we're missing a kill each night. And last night wasn't a scum kill, so there definitely is either a vig or SK (or both, but I'm doubting that frankly). Last night we know that Jasper was blocked and I'm confident that he's not the scum killer. So that means the scum were prevented by some other means, so there's a protector as well then. Quite possible that the protector is why we didn't see a scum kill last night. The simplest explanation is that night 1 was a scum kill and night 2 was a vig or SK and the scum target was protected. -

My apologies Mr Fury, I started the voting too soon. Got all excited by catching a blasted Hydra... Vote: David Leffel (fhomess) David, you're flat lying when you say you tracked me last night and saw me target Jasper. Alas, I am not permitted to quote my PM from Mr. Fury, but I assure everyone it says that David is Hydra. And that will be proven in the morning when we get the results from your lynch. Nice try, flailing like that though. Now, did you already know that Jasper was blocked when you picked him as my supposed target? For the record, Jasper told me he had been blocked about 6 hours after the day began - just a few minutes after I made the large post at the start of the day in fact. And funny thing - David was one of the people I sent the info to during the night, and he hasn't responded to a single one of my messages since. He knew I was investigating him and he was busted, so he's ignored me. He certainly didn't tell me this story that I checked someone else in private before posting it here, probably because he was discussing with his scumbuddies who to claim I was seen visiting. -

Ok. I was planning to wait another 12 hours or so, but things are confused enough. It's time for some clarity. Last night I checked out David, and HE IS HYDRA. Therefore, it's very easy to Vote: David Leffel (fhomess) Therefore, I think the logical conclusion is that Jafar is truly loyal. I think David claimed to Jasper, hoping to gain trust and eventually infiltrate the town block. My opinion is that Jasper is probably town.
