  1. Theme: Western Pieces: 687 Minifigures: 10 Year: 1996 Original MSRP: $84.99 This set was really fun to rebuild. I forgot about some of the features like the door bars and trap doors. Now on to the pictures.
  2. I finished up the fort tonight. I will get some pictures posted tomorrow. My plan for the weekend is to build and arrange all of my Western sets together before breaking them down to store. I may also attempt a YouTube video :)
  3. The Pet Shop and Grand Emporium come with black ones. You could look up the part number for them on BrickLink and then search for brown ones.
  4. So I decided to BrickLink the original set. The only thing I am having trouble finding is the LEGO sticker for the sign. Two stores have them, but they are over seas. I got it done in four BL orders, with two of them having the majority of the parts. I am looking forward to building this one without paying the eBay prices :)
  5. I really wish I had come out of my dark age in time to get one of these at normal price. It is a great looking build!
  6. Do you have a link to some pictures of the GE? Sounds cool.
  7. Some pretty strong feelings there.... :) I was thinking the same thing :)
  8. I agree. I forgot about some of the play features like trap doors and bars to lock the front gates :) I will probably finish it up tonight and then build the rest of my Western stuff to go with it before I repack them to store for my son. :)
  9. Good work!
  10. Thanks!
  11. The interior is there, but I used a different "computer" panel and a black dash pad instead of dark gray. There is a dark gray 6x12 plate on the bottom :) Yes :)
  12. A member of another forum that I am on put together some instructions and a parts list that was pretty close to the original model. After a few Bricklink orders I was able to put it together. I opted for the smaller flame to save space on my desk.
  13. Another Texan, and new member here. Hello from Dallas!
  14. EDIT: Instead of starting multiple topics I will continue to post the rest of my Western builds in this thread. More coming soon! :) I sorted and started to rebuild Fort Legoredo last night. I only got as far as the main gate, but it has been really cool to relive this one again. I will keep this thread updated as the build progresses.
  15. Your's is a pretty impressive build, I don't know that mine will be that cool :)
  16. http://www.legokidsfest.com/dallas/ Anyone else going to this? Going to head up there with my wife and son this weekend. This will be my first Lego event. I am pretty excited. I'm sure I will be taking plenty of pictures :)
  17. Thank you!
  18. Thank you all! I will check these out.
  19. My favorite one is whichever one I am looking for at the time :) When I first started building Lego (Late 80s) the colors were pretty standard. It has been really cool to see some of the new colors lately. I got a bunch of 1x1 bricks in bright orange and green from the PAB wall a few weeks ago. I don't know that I will use them (they are in my BL store for now), but they are cool to see.
  20. I have been wanting to get a hold of a 3300003 set to put in my town. I bid on a few on eBay, but they went higher than I wanted to pay. I decided that since the pieces were pretty common I could BrickLink the whole set for a reasonable price. Now, I am thinking that if I am going to BrickLink it anyway, I might as well move it up to mini figure scale to match my modulars. I will likely do this in LDD to put together the parts list, but I wanted to see if anyone else had done this with this particular set that might be able to offer some tips. Thanks in advance!
  21. For new sets, I usually build them (or at least start) the day I buy them. Right now I have my old sets to rebuild/check for completeness to hold me over between new purchases.
  22. If you are looking for just general bricks you can get the buckets that Lego makes at toy stores. If there are very specific parts that you want/need I would try Bricklink.com
  23. I have tried building on our coffee table in the living room, but the lighting is horrible. I then moved over to the dining room table, but that wasn't the most popular thing in the house :) Now I build at my desk in our bedroom. I have my modulars, 1966 Batmobile, Ecto-1, and my graduation set displayed there. On a shelf next to my son's crib in his room I have the Creator Family House and some other small sets. This is before the Pet Shop was built
  24. Really good work. I owned a TJ for a while and I'd love to buy a CJ one day. This will work until then :)
