Pretty confident, yeah. Since when does Lego adopt a business model of making less money? Snowspeeder: 11.7 cents per piece. Death Star: 12.5 cents per piece. Assault on Hoth: 11.6 cents per piece. Tie Fighter: 11.8 cents per piece. Average cents per piece for previous four UCS sets: 11.9. $800@11.9 = 6,722. Now I could certainly be wrong, and they could certainly bolster the piece count with small greebles (like the SSD) but why on earth would Lego pick the most adult-forum-hyped collector set ever, to suddenly buck the price trend? The furor over this is ridiculous, they're teasing the set like they've never done before, the previous best selling large set (Death Star) just got released with a massive price hike, and yet we're suddenly going to get the best deal ever? Call me a pessimist, but I think people's expectations are unrealistic at this point.

An $800 Star Wars set with 7,500 pieces is not going to happen, at least not at current pricing models. The Death Star is 4,016 for $500, which is about 12.5 cents per piece. You would be lucky to get 7,000 pieces for $800. That's assuming it even costs that much. It could be $600 with far fewer pieces.

There is absolutely no way that is possible. The original one at 5,200 pieces wasn't that detailed. Marshal Banana's is 7,500 pieces. Then there's the fact that the set is so large and so wide that it requires a large technic support structure running through it. You might be able to fit pockets of an interior with in it, but nothing like what you're talking.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
Schneeds replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Just saw the video; I'm even more excited now! I'm just waiting on my last big order. The other 8 have already arrived! The total piece hasn't really changed as far as I can tell. I just came up with a ratio for ordering extra parts. 20 items +1, 30 items +2, etc. With a 15,000 piece model, when ordering 400 pieces of a brick it's best to do 25-30 (or more for really cheap pieces) to account for errors in both the shipper, and the instructions. There's no way I'm going to count all these pieces. -
It's on the fragile side, but once fully assembled more robust than you would think. Similar to Brickwright's Y-Wing. If you wanted to swoosh it around lots you'd have to employ the Krackle.

I just got finished building the v2 of Inthert's X-wing in Red 2 coloring, and I have to say that brick-for-brick, this is the most impressive MOC I have ever seen. I can't imagine the amount of time that went into designing and building this thing. It's a wonderful display piece.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
Schneeds replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've modded my 10030 a fair amount and added quite a bit of detail but the Aggressor looks like a much more substantial model. I'll probably have to buff the 10030 more to bring it up to snuff :) -

I filter it so it only takes stores from the US. -

Well, I have all the parts ordered. This is going to be interesting. If I had the patience that I had when I BL'd the falcon, I probably would have done a large Bricks n Pieces order, but the thought of getting out the spreadsheets was simply too daunting. Surprisingly I only did a little better manually selecting the stores than Bricklink's Autofinder function. Pretty impressive. Probably wasn't even worth my time to do it manually. -
You've managed to make a rebel ship actually look formidable. Impressive.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
Schneeds replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If you go with new parts, $1,500 is about the best you can hope for. If you have 10188 10030, and 75055 and are willing to cannibalize them, you save a fortune. But you can't have a fleet with one ship, so I wasn't ;) -

Good thing I have a vacation coming up in a few weeks, because I am crazy enough to do this. I don't know how you managed to fit such an outstanding interior in that space. This exceeded my incredibly high expectations. And Legolijntje, it's astounding that you're able to make instructions for such a mammoth project. You proved with the ATAT that you do quality work. $25 is nothing for this kind of effort. -
That's a nice tidbit. If he designs it like the Slave I was designed, there's going to be a lot of happy people. If it's designed in the spirit of Hoth...

That is just fantastic. The towers look great and are deceptively massive, and the trees add a lot to the scene without you even realizing it. Also, you managed to add an excellent ramp to the shuttle, which is worthy of a post in-and-of itself ;) Where's Luke and Vader?! Edit: Nvm, I spotted them. :)

Anything new on this front, Stash? October is right around the corner. I'd expect we'd be seeing more by this point.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the Yoda minifig. It's a tough figure to get right, and would be much more suited to a molded body than a standard minifig. The previous versions, in my opinion, are pretty bad.

There is no feasible way they can release a UCS Falcon for $600 at the scale of 10179 and have an interior, not with current price inflation at any rate. The original retailed for $500, and that was 10 years ago. Look at the Death Star. That was released in 2008, and they basically just re-released the exact same set and made it a $100 more. Even if it was possible to make the falcon structurally sound with an interior, the piece count would be enormous. Not to mention the exterior of the original was rather lackluster in terms of details, which would explode the piece count if done right. I mean I hope Lego proves me wrong, but realistically it's not going to happen.

Lego Star Wars Moc Imperial Raider Class Corvette
Schneeds replied to insideLego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm not familiar with this ship, but the all gray version looks marvelous and very true to Star Wars material. -
^ Looks great! Rask, Any chance we'll be seeing mini-Tyrant pictures in the near future?

I can't wait to see how you pulled this off. How much do you think it weighs?
-
I'd say it almost has to be significantly bigger than 10030... and still a good thing ;D
-
I'm going to say that's a good thing :)

[MOC] [Instructions] UCS Zeta-class cargo shuttle
Schneeds replied to Renegade Clone's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It doesn't look like 4,000 pieces... until you see that picture of it dominating the UCS Imperial Shuttle. Then you get a true sense of scale :) $30 is a small price to pay for so much quality and effort.- 113 replies

I'm mostly familiar with the Tyrant from the Star Wars Decipher card game back in the day (still have the card). According to the card, the Captain was Cpt. Lennox, who you see in Empire. I would be tempted to modify the Tyrant into the Devastator, which is the first Star Destroyer we ever see on screen, capturing the Tantive IV.
