  1. The ATAT was given a prestigious spot. I have a theoretical spot picked out for the mini-Tryrant as well ;)
  2. I think that size is about as good as you could possibly do. 9,000 pieces is still a monstrosity, and even for the small percentage of us that can build it, that's a unicorn build. Unless I get a bigger house nothing would top that :)
  3. Holy crap I was just joking, and then you guys drop that on us?? Are we talking a little bigger than 10030 but somehow contains an interior? Because that would be just about the greatest thing ever.
  4. You know Raskol, with the success of the plus-size AT-AT, the door is wide open for a plus-size ISD :)
  5. Holy mother of greebles. You could make ILM jealous of that one.
  6. Unless they're planning on including ANH versions of the Falcon crew (Obi, Leia, etc) to make it an all-encompassing edition, then that selection of minifigs doesn't really make any sense. Other than the fact that Episode 8 will be coming out and Lego is on a Hoth kick, they have nothing in common.
  7. I think you're misconstruing a niche market that's been vastly inflated by profiteers as "demand." They didn't do any special for 10221 and it was reflected in lack luster sales. Yet now since it's been discontinued people try to sell NIB ones for $800. That's not true demand. Simply remaking 10179 and throwing in a few extra pieces is not going to sell well at $800. Any die-hard fan willing to pay $800 for a UCS falcon can just bricklink their own, complete with any custom upgrades they want. Obviously some people would buy it no matter what because it's a collector item, but that's not the business model Lego operates under. They like to make money.
  8. Keep in mind that 10179 couldn't support an interior without massive structural changes. The model is simply too big to support itself without significant internal framework, which makes an interior difficult at best. I don't think there's anyway they can pull off a decent interior with 6,667 pieces at the scale of 10179.
  9. This news is rather staggering. Given the price inflation of recent years, I fully expected Lego to come out with a 4,000 piece $500 UCS version, if they even did one at all. Predictably, a set of similar piece count and size to the original would be $600+. I honestly didn't think they would try to sell a set for that kind of money. But $800? A 7,500 piece UCS falcon with an interior is literally the star wars eurobricks poster child for a wishlist set. How many times on this forum have people wished for such a thing, and now for it to happen is almost incomprehensible. That said, $800 puts this set wildly out of range for the vast, vast majority of consumers and they are going to have to do something truly special with it to command that kind price. I certainly hope they do!
  10. Well, Palpatine does mention him and his abilities in ROTS, so technically he is canon.
  11. It looks sharp and is well designed; a great display addition to those who have the x-wing, tie etc. I personally am just not a fan of the huge scale they use for the fighters. I prefer scale versions such as Lildime's/Lars etc.
  12. You could put this in the General Questions Thread. Are you sure it's the panels that are drooping and not the frame bending? It's a pretty common/well known issue for the frame to bend and sag due to the sheer weight of the set and the fact that the front support strut is placed too far back. A simple change that helps somewhat is relocate the the strut to the docking bay. That relieves some of the weight. You can also increase the strength of the spine with additional brackets and plates. You would likely need to replace some of the frame if its already begun to sag though.
  13. Perhaps a water cannon mod?
  14. You should consider putting this up on Lego Ideas. At this point so many have been built it's almost a no brainer for them ;)
  15. Those dbg dishes look a lot better than I would have thought. A completely viable alternative.
  16. I don't know how I missed this post. That is very well done. I think you do it more justice than the movie does ;)
  17. How can the last of something be plural? You can't be the last Jedi if there's more one left ;)
  18. People keep saying Jedi can be plural but it wouldn't be grammatically correct if it were to be used as plural in that title. "Last" is singular in this meaning. That would be like saying "The Last Dogs" instead of "The Last Dog." It would have to be "The Last of the Jedi" it it was going to be plural.
  19. It's impressive that you can build something that large with that much detail and not have anything look arbitrary. Where do you display it??
  20. And yet we have Hoth. And Ewok Village, etc. As far as $300+ sets go, the trend is moving against us.
  21. I just can't see a re-release of 10179 without significant downsizing. Under current pricing it would be a $600 set, which at that amount, what would be the point? You can bricklink your own for that much with a few modifications. Outside this forum, I doubt Lego sees a big demand for a $600 model. Sure the Death Star was $400 for years, but that also had 20 minifigs and kids loved it.
  22. No it isn't, you just have to do it properly, which he did. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/18718-site-guidelines/ It's a great set, and you laid it out nicely. Cloud city is definitely trickier than the Death Star to formulate as a play set but you've done nicely with functionality and details. Like Kim said, Lego would simply make their own for something like this but it never hurts to give them ideas and demonstrate the popularity of a set.
  23. Those wings look really nice in DBG with the 10212 method. What are you guys using as reference material? I can't find any studio model pictures, I don't know if they actually made a model.
  24. Comparison pic? ;)
  25. Your experience building tanks clearly shows here. Incredibly well done. I like the subtle details of the side armor plating.
