I'm almost 100% certain that wave 2 wasn't supposed to be the last. But I'm also 100% certain that it will be. There really isn't any room in 2015. Age of Ultron, Jurassic World, The Simpsons, Justice League, and more that I just can't think of right now. It's pretty crowded.

Eh, it's been a while... Bowling for Soup: 1985, Summer of '69 (also check out the Bryan Adams version of the latter) Fountains of Wayne: Stacey's Mom Queen: I Want to Break Free (forgot this last time) AC/DC: Money Talks, You Shook Me All Night Long, Thunderstruck, Shoot to Thrill, T.N.T, Back in Black. Journey: Don't Stop Believing, Separate Ways, Any Way You Want It, Wheel in the Sky. Smash Mouth: All Star, I'm a Believer, Sister Psychic, Everyday Superhero, Walking on the Sun. Skid-Row: I Remember You

I had a topic in the Minifigure Customization Workshop that was similar... I tried to list out all of the customizers who did printed/molded customs from Middle Earth... It went the way of the dodo, much like this theme... Interesting, I think... Anyways, I'm not here just to promote that thread. Rather, I come to say that I made an error in logic before. I said Lord of the Rings CMF would be bad because we'd only get one series, basing that logic on the Simpsons being done... Well, I stand corrected. The Simpsons is getting another wave. BUT! I still think LotR CMF would not be much better, (and the Simpsons likely sold well, LotR did not), but now, I think maybe we could've gotten just a bit more. Oh well. It doesn't matter now anyways. We got what we got. The lack of an ad confirms it. It's over. Now, I must go back in time and tell myself two years ago that we'd get a character I never heard of (Mouth of Sauron) and no Witch King... I wonder how I'd react...

Figure'd I'd start a topic for my customs. Why not? Mr. Spock by Borador1, on Flickr A.L.F by Borador1, on Flickr "You've redecorated!" by Borador1, on Flickr ... More on my Flickr. Enjoy!

Yeah, that's a bit more realistic. Though somehow I think I'd still take that over no more Middle Earth at all... If nothing else, that Barud Dur sounds kinda fun. Spring Shooter Eye of Sauron? I'll take ten!

Mines called Yoshi, technically. Though, I don't really consider Yoshi my sig-fig, nor do I necessarily consider the tan dinosaur to be him... Though it is... Honestly, I had a custom sig-fig with a painted werewolf head, but when I first started on MOCpages I hadn't finished it, so I put Yoshi up, and he stuck.

Ironic, since it's Captain America. Also, I swear that was just in theaters. How the heck is it coming out already?

It's possible, but unlikely. Check out bigospedro's Toy Fair report on the first page of this very thread. He says that he googled what he "thought she said" and the closest thing that came up was "Dain Ironfoot", which means "she" probably had told them it was Dain. I'd say it's more like 75% Dain, 25% Generic. Either way, though, one can still convert Dain to a generic dwarf...
-
Didn't the folks from London Toy Fair confirm it was Dain? I can't recall if they had been told that, or just guessed based on his appearance. I'd doubt the latter, since Dain's design has yet to be revealed.

I don't really know this version of Spider-Man, but I like these. Very unique and very good work. Peter Parker needs work though. The lines need to be thicker, and the tie needs to be fixed. It should be longer, and the point should be smaller and symmetrical. That pocket on the jacket is also too high. Looking forward to the rest of these though. Keep it up!

Build Question -- Creating a Flexible Tail...
Borador replied to agoodfella77's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I'd guess flex tubing; http://www.bricklink.com/browseList.asp?itemType=P&catString=483 But I may be wrong... -
And NOBODY noticed this? Nobody? I mean, I realize this was probably very well planned out... But seriously? Wouldn't they notice how many damaged sets they had?

Those are great! Are those Little Armory Accessories?

I liked the Council of Elrond too. I guess people judge it because of what could have been. I don't really think that's fair though. A lovely set. Probably one of the best in the theme. Beautiful colors and designs. I kinda wish I'd gotten it...

Oh, because it explodes. That could be fun. I'd be interested in seeing it done.

I didn't see another topic like this. If there is one, will a mod please merge or lock this? So, since LotR is done (as far as I can tell) I figured it'd be good to compile a list of all custom printed Middle Earth figures for sale. I figure it'll make it easier for people to complete their collections. EDIT: I shall start. GreenPeasToys has some good ones. Some of them don't mesh seamlessly with official figures, but frankly, I think they're awesome! EDIT Again: Holy Moley! They (greenpeastoys) have printed Hobbit feet! How have I not seen this before? And a slight change of plans. Let's also post any good purist designs we find on the net. I want this list to be as comprehensive as possible. Edit again: oops! Forgot posting eBay links wasn't allowed. My mistake. Sorry! Won't happen again! Edit Again: okay, here's GreenPeasToys Flickr; WITCH KING by smallgreenpealtd, on Flickr First topic. Hope it goes well.

I didn't say they were right. I said they have a reason. And they do. What said reason is? We may never know. But there must be one. Or else they'd not have done it four years in a row.

Love that Groot, Darkrattyop!

They weren't testing the waters with the exclusives. They were testing the waters with the sets. Look at how few obscure characters there are. Just a few in the Spider-man sets. And the list in the DC topic looks like they're shifting gears. LEGO's Spider-Man sets are based on the cartoons (and a few from the comics). Marvel is telling LEGO what to do. So LEGO had no place to put that figure. In every scene depicted in LEGO sets from "Man of Steel" Superman wore blue. It made no sense to put him in black. I did say we would probably get Phoenix, did I not? Zuhr En Ahr Batman is SO obscure. And it looks just different enough from normal Batman that the name alone might not be enough. Sure, they could've been LEGO store promotions... But there must have been some reason that they weren't. LEGO rarely does anything without reason. And when they do, they don't repeat it four years in a row. Point is, we don't know why LEGO does these things. I don't, and nor do you. All we know for sure is that LEGO obviously had some reason to do this, and not something else. We can only guess why (as everything I've said has been) but at the end of the day, they must have had some reason to do this four years in a row.

Me? I don't use paints much myself. Sharpie paint pens stick, but you have to puddle them if you want a toothpick. I hear of people using Citadel and Apple Barrel Gloss. War hammer paints apparently work too, but I haven't heard of using them with a toothpick. I have some paint in my basement that I've used before, but I don't recall the brand name. I can check if you want, but the stuff I use is not that great. I honestly think you'd be better off going with one of these other suggestions.

Best Minifigures of 2014? (LEGO and Custom)
Borador replied to DarkKnight7's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
The year isn't over yet, but so far... Greedo Thor Homer Simpson C3PO Darth Sideous Rocket Raccoon Krusty the Clown Honestly, any of the new Star Wars figures, except Luke and R2, are pretty spiffy. I don't really follow customs (ones that folks sell, anyways), so I can't speak to that... -
Who are the best minifig customizers at Eurobricks?
Borador replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Can you please change the order of those quotes please? You make it look like I agree with Matteo, when in fact I do not. I was agreeing with DarkDragon. And if he was looking to recruit people, then I suppose I misunderstood. Although, I think this would be better in the Minifig Customs Workshop, where it's more likely to be seen by someone who can help. -
Can we have a link to this Flickr page? Do you all really think that, if not for SDCC exclusives, that we would have EVER seen Zuhr En Ahr Batman, Black Suit Superman, Movie Spider-Man, or Spider-woman? And, by that same logic, do you really think we won't ever see Phoenix, Bizarro, Green Arrow, Shazam, etc? After all, we ARE getting BOTH Nolan Batman AND Green Lantern in just this year alone. LEGO had to test the waters. If not for this, NOBODY would have any of these characters. This way, few people do, and that should be enough until we all can. I don't know why everyone is so mad. Just be patient.

I believe you are using the wrong type of paint. TheMooseFigs is known for using a toothpick. He explained how he did it and what he used in a video, but I don't remember which video it was. I think it was this one: https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/99717434@N04/14192136210/ If not, look through his channel/photo stream. He did have a video on this.
