Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
deskp replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
If you heard this specificlay then thats something. if what you heard was jsut the fox/simpsons situation then its more sketchy. -
I think the chanses of thranduil is higher in TABA wave cause of the action, but i want him in his "classic" costume. As for Yazneg, when lego made him he was Azog. So the intention was to put Azog in the set.

Now that it's monday(ish) it'll be interesting to see if last year repeats itself and we get a minifig preview reveal ahead of comic con. I so much hope we get to see a Thranduil fig this week, but I'm fairly sceptic to weather he'll be made at all. It might be that they do it for a NEW theme again wich won't mean hobbit this time.

18 months is long enough, 6 months designing the sets and 1 year of production. or the other way around however it is it's not that short a time. Lisencor approval is less complicated than people would think. Just see the stuff lego has got away with in the past. lego gets away with mroe stuff cause of their abstract-ish way of doing stuff As for dol goldur, i don't think that'll be a huuge set either, the structire itself doesent make a great model in my opinion. It's a good opportunity for both Radagast and Bolg though.. with tharin thrown in perhaps. no undead foes. unless by that you eman the nazgul ghost creatures. there won't be any zombies

1,5 years is enough for lego to complete good sets. also keep in mind the majority of the DOS shoot was completed last year, so there is enough images etc for lego to work of that isn't just concept art, concept art they use will be stuff that will make it into the movie. Remember they were shooting uintill july/august last year, and the sets turned out good for AUJ. The odds are in legos favor that DOS will be as good or better. Dol guldor was always in the hobbit movies, it's potentially been expanded on with the 3 movie switch but it was always there. We saw the film sets for Dol guldr ages ago in the vid diary. Lego have had enough time to make the wave be what they want it to be. Keep in mind LOTR wave 2 was something very different to the first one aswell. unless there are more "preview sets" we can't be sure any of it was affected by the trilogy change. Also the appeal of bag end is that its featured prominently for both lotr and hobbit, (aswell as being a very good looking complete set)

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

Making them so called "comic con exclusives" does in no way mean they cant make the figures again later for any reason lego sees fit. In many cases a "exclusise" is the only way lego would EVER produce certain characthers. Lego isn't restricting anything for the future. -

to quote myself: "That said, people who already have the lego figs propably didn't go through the most llegal ways of getting and has less rights to sell them than people who wait in line for one at comic con. Atleast that's what i think." comic con hasn't started yet so the current sellers isnt all that ok really. But people complain as much of sellers who gets them the proper way. If anything I think lego should see the demand and allow people to purchase the figures from them after the conventions. Be it polybags with some bricks. Maybe they could do a preorder period for them and only produce the amount people purchased. -
the 2 preview sets might linger around, but i don't think we'll see any new preview sets. There was a very specific reason we got those in the first place.

Oh stop it, If people want to spend that money on it let them. The people who organize and buy up convention exclusive action figures etc. and then sell of huge stocks off it at redicuolus prices are more of an issue. with the lego figs it's the luck of the draw weater they get one or not. That said, people who already have the lego figs propably didn't go through the most llegal ways of getting and has less rights to sell them than people who wait in line for one at comic con. Atleast that's what i think. At the end of the day they can only sell it for wht people will pay. Lego figs from sets are also selling for more than their worth. -
The gandalf and Gimli comment wasnt nessecarily to do with the balrog. I find the flame and smoke to be fairly essential with the balrog, cuse of that no toy version has looked right.

Green lanter fig came out after the movie didn't it? with ASM the fact that its somewhat involving a 3rd party (sony) makes it seem like it should be more than just a one off fig. Thers also the fact that there doesent seem to be a LONE RANGER type film of next eyar lego will make sets for. making space for ASM perhaps. It'll be interesting to see what happens tho. If that simpsons deal happened, would comic con be a good week to annoucne that? -
Great moc! looks very much like the sets for the movie overall. I do find the background and the computer cutout to be distracting thogh!

The lego covers are "copies" of old marvel covers, I would think lego/marvel collaboared on wich covers to remake as lego. -
Alot of people do, I however do not. I think we have enough Gimli and Gandalf minifigs in sets by now. Bring on Gondor!

Marvel comic cover lego version, Masked wolverine, the mask looks good. This confirms absolutley NOTHING, but it looks cool and we can dream! Wolverine is proapbly popular enough for lego to give his 2. minifigure appearance in a set an upgraded version. -

the level of detail is dedicated by the source though. new 52 green arrow looks mroe detailed than classic green arrow for example. thats why wonder woman and classic superman looks abit plain in lego. -

asm2 spidey looks good, i'd be suprised if he didnt end up in sets next year. spdier woman, looks boring, but i dont care for the characther anyways. green arrow, looks kindof specific, but I wish it was the one from ARROW tv show. Black superman is a waste, soo boring. -
People thinking the ent is Treebeard is doing the lego deisgner a huge disservice, it looks nothing like treebeard.

I don't think the eagles ever gets named in the movies.
-
I don't think the army elves will be in DOS though. But their breastplate in the movie is solid one piece, unlike the Haldir wich is multiple parts. I too think they will be printed, but imagine the gloriousness of a new mold. New helmet, new sword, and molded breastplate, they'd be a cool as the uruk hai!

Oh yes, the new sword really looks related to Orcrist in design. I really hope lego Nails the mirkwood elf army when time comes for them to make those. It would be really good to see new unique breastplates and helmets.

I really hope so, the current one has been a waste, it's not been appropriate in any of the sets it's been in. And why on earth is it gold.. I have a feeling lego won't bother with a new one though.
