Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
BaneShake replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I did not see that coming, and I definitely do not mind. I'm hoping to see more based on previous movies, since the new two have been fairly well covered. -

I'm totally ignoring as much of the roster as I can so as not to spoil it for myself. Watching the video from the livestream does reveal that it's a proper open world. The cities are placed next to each other, presumably for the sake of gameplay convenience; some of the areas were "mountained off" from each other, so it's implied there's still some geographical distance in-universe. The cities definitely look good. Gotham especially shows how far along TT has come since LB2, as it looks like it has more detail, and frankly feels more like a real heavily-urban city than before. Gotham was made up of the main city, Amusement Mile, Wayne Manor, and a side area I believe was Stryker's Island, with Metropolis above, Smallville further connecting off of there, and the Hall of Doom's swamp over to the right and somewhere else to the left (Arkham, maybe?). He zoomed out and the JL Watchtower was visible on a grid layer above, which will probably also have Apokolips. I also noticed that, if you're a villain (or at least an Outlaw character, since Arthur Parsons showed it off with Red Hood), and you run around causing chaos, you will get police coming after you, similar to (though probably much easier than) Grand Theft Auto. There's an ability filter at the bottom of the character screens now, which makes finding out who can do what so much easier. Mr. Freeze is briefly passed by for a side quest, and THANK GOD his obnoxiously awful accent from LB3 is replaced. -

I'm not a huge fan of the new Venom face. The design is perfectly fine, but I frankly prefer the old one a little more. The torso is definitely different too, but I'm indifferent to the changes. I'll call that on par with the old one. I definitely prefer the old Carnage, 100%. I like the Spider-Woman, although Gwen's arms definitely look too plain. Otherwise a solid figure. That Sandman is definitely an awesome variant. It will go well with people who also have the last one, since they are straight up different forms he takes. I always applaud that. Vulture's fine. It's a good adaptation by Lego of an admittedly less exciting design. Miles is a fairly neutral change. No strong opinions. Spider-Man 2099 is my most anticipated figure. He looks great, and I have adored that version of the character for the better part of a decade, since Shattered Dimensions introduced me to him. And, of course, the new classic Spider-Man figure is great, and a much needed improvement. The cartoon figure left just so much to be desired, all because they had to use a blue torso and throw the color balance all off. -

Unfortunately, they told me can't replace it since they've retired the series and no longer carry the reserves to replace anything. I guess I'm going to have to browse Walgreens-type places, since they often have the CMFs longer than anyone else, and hope to find something, or just give in and bricklink it.

I have just experienced what may be the worst quality error I've seen on a Lego minifigure I own. This smudging, which looks like how the print starts to go when using chemicals on a minifigure, happened purely because of contact with the back of a hairpiece. I've sent an e-mail to Lego's QA people, but sheesh. Has anyone else ever seen something like this happen before?

I agree. The camera was pulled too far back, and having full spheres just made it harder to locate anything. I'm pretty sure it'll be like this. The only other thing I can think of is if Gotham and Metropolis are the only free-roam locations, with everywhere else we have seen or heard about (Gorilla City, Smallville, what appears to be Themyscira in Harley Quinn's short promo vid on twitter) being limited to just levels. I doubt it, though, since it sounds like Apokolips is going to be available partway through the story to explore, based on what the developers said during gameplay videos. I'm pretty shocked, and a little impressed, with how much restraint TT has shown in revealing the details of this game. LB3 had basically given away the entire base-game roster on Twitter by this point in the marketing cycle, leaving nothing as a surprise. They have actually left most of this under wraps right now, which means I can't just go and spoil it for myself by watching fervently, as I have the worst tendency to do. -
No, I think it was the CMF Farmer's hat that was being referred to.

Okay, that's quite fun. Maybe we'll actually get blue printed eyes instead of the less accurate white eyes we got for TLBM.

With this being launched in four days with no word prior, my guess is a mobile device game. With the stats showing on the sword like that, I'd wager it's a high-fantasy/medieval RPG. I'm hoping to see some sort of action RPG.

Just saw the new question to help with this. Super glad to do anything to help block scammers; tired of seeing weird health supplements when I get on at odd hours of the night.

I am really digging this pack. Here's hoping we get more movie packs like this in the future; I'd be down for a couple of Amazons and a Themyscira or civilian-clothes Wonder Woman, should they do another one.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Okay, now you're just being cruel. -
Ordered Knightmare Batman; super excited now for arrival! I'm not getting the Sinestro Corps Batman just yet (waiting for a good Amazon price drop), but I have seen the close-up pics for details and differences from Sinestro. Mainly, the "belt" area is whiter than the pure yellow on Thaal's torso, and the yellow on his boots points upwards whereas Sinestro's curve slightly downwards. There is a touch more muscle detailing, but nothing too different. Obviously, the face is different from different Batman faces, with the yellow eyes most prominently, but the "neutral" face is a different mouth shape than we've seen on him before as well.

I would have so much fun watching the chaos that ensued on this website if that happened. -

Has anyone else noticed a difference in the hardness of the plastic used for wands between the real sets and the CMFs?

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

I'm okay with this method. As long as it is new, worthwhile figures, I can make do. And I realize that many people are Joker fatigued, which I won't blame anyone for as much as we get him, but I can live with more Joker, as long as we get variety. Joker has earned a place as the most popular comic villain for a reason, and though we got him several times in things like TLBM sets, Mighty Micros, Juniors, he hasn't appeared in comic-style in the Super Heroes theme since 2015 (the only one was the 60s version, which was dramatically different enough to be worthwhile). And while that is a lot of modifiers, that makes it a lot of variation as well. -

The 1&2 intrigues me. Will we get those both at the same time, or will part 2 come later and be more spoiler-y? Will we get twice as many movie characters with these or only one set of characters for both levels? And I definitely want to see the DC Films pack too; it's most likely just catching up the DCEU 'figs (here's hoping for a Deadshot variant!), but it would be interesting if it had non-DCEU looks as well, like TDKR Bane. And if this the full season pass, which seems likely, it's weird that none of the levels at the outset appear to be villain-based, and only one character pack seems to be fully villain. I don't mind, but weird for the title they're going for. I'll keep my fingers crossed for one or two more surprises, although based on previous game DLC releases, that's no guarantee. -
It very much is worth it. All minifigs start out unique (although we are at least getting more of the Batman design), the mech is actually one of the better mech builds LEGO has released in recent years, and the price-per-piece is pretty solid, even at normal price.

With a villain focus, the Anti-Monitor would be plausible. I would love it for sure. -

That's fair. My only guess is that the book got away with it just from less oversight than sets go through. -

The risk would be if TLG released something that close to a fan project, there's potential for the fan to claim that TLG used their idea without crediting them. Now, this would not be likely to go anywhere, but especially on a basis like this where it looks to be, basically, an identical build, I feel like TLG would just go ahead and do something different instead.
