  1. It's been a little while since I posted (busy life will do that to ya), but I am very pleased with my most recent one: Purist Black Spider by Charlie Griffin, on Flickr
  2. This is why I like you people. As long-lived as the Super Heroes themes have been (and presumably with ample longevity to come), I think we will get all of the essentials at some point. Obscure silver-age villains were nice to get due to the sheer unlikelihood that we would ever get them in "normal" sets, so I appreciate that we got this as what will potentially be the only opportunity many of these will ever have. I can't see Doctor Phosphorous, Zodiac Master, or my beloved Polka-Dot Man appearing again without some offshoot theme like this, and even more "prominent" lesser-knowns like Catman or Hugo Strange seem fairly unlikely as well.
  3. Against us? I loved the inclusion of Aaron Cash and the weird silver age villains. Long live Polka-Dot Man!
  4. I think it's just to make it easier for kids to find all the pieces to put it together. Of course, since they're usually bigger 2x4 bricks, or something around that size, I'm not sure how hard they'd be to find, but who knows?
  5. Now that I've put together Aquaman's set, I have to say, the minifigures are quite striking in hand. They catch the light just right, especially on Aquaman's armor scales and Mera, and Black Manta truly looks like the badass he is. And the set is solid too; the sub feels the part in-hand, and looks menacing. No stray colors creep through from interior bricks like the sets in this range often have to deal with. Well worth a pick-up.
  6. Just got the JL Flying Fox set for an insanely low $64 price tag on clearance at Walmart. I had been waiting for a price drop, and boy did that work.
  7. Just found the Aquaman set in Target. Only one, so I don't know how many were initially stocked yet. I'll post my opinions once I've built it.
  8. I previously wasn't 100% on Aquaman's armor musculature, especially with the gap in the breastplate, but looking at it in that video, I actually quite like how they did it.
  9. I'm not a huge fan that the minifigure didn't get gunmetal gray arms. The torso I don't mind; with arms matching the metal contrasting the black base of the torso, I think it would look great, similar to the DCEU Flash's bright red arms on dark red body.
  10. Yeah, I've typed "TLBM" so many times on these forums that B just slipped in there without me realizing it. I meant TLM 2.
  11. Depends on the writer. Sometimes, he is. Sometimes, like Kingdom Come, Billy Batson and Captain Marvel are two sides of the same person; he grows up right into Captain Marvel. I've seen this one go both ways, and frankly, this is the way I think people will connect to the character more.
  12. The one that I was sad we never got was the Patriot Batsuit. I can't help but love intentionally and ridiculously bombastic US flag patriotism. It always amuses me to no end.
  13. I just realized that in the endcap of the trailer, Zoom and what appears to be Reign are in the TV villains pack. Interesting on who else that might hold from the CW-verse, and maybe beyond. Alternate Deathstroke or Deadshot? Mallus? Savitar?
  14. I predict this won't be too well-received. I have noticed that there have been a vocal minority defending it tooth-and-nail, however, and as someone who has been willing to defend Suicide Squad, I can at least appreciate that. Anyone who is looking forward to this, what are your thoughts on the matter? I'd love to see the opposite arguments here.
  15. I like both trailers, and am definitely excited for them. Aquaman's trailer did a few things I'm not fond of in trailer-editing, but since that has nothing to do with the movie production team and all on the trailer production company, I'm not concerned. I like that it's clearly not showing everything or giving away too-much like Warner Bros often is guilty of. And Shazam! looks to be incredibly fun. That was the most I have enjoyed a trailer in a while.
  16. I don't think there's cause for concern. Interviews have been placing the roster up around where LB3's size was, pre-DLC, so it should come out at least the same. Too many more characters than that would be a tad unmanageable, I would imagine.
  17. Well, since Jason Momoa is voicing Aquaman (presumably briefly) for TLBM2, it is entirely possible that Margot Robbie is doing the same for Harley Quinn, since they are both THE brand recognition for the characters currently. And this wouldn't mean there are more than one running around, even with a different voice; it's just a recasting, which happens all the time in voice-acting gigs. Commissioner Gordon had a different voice in all four Arkham games, and over here in the Lego games, DC Villains has SEVERAL new voice actors (like Mark Hammill's Joker), but appears to be in continuity from Lego Batman 2 and 3.
  18. Yeah, here's hoping there's a cool 2019 one to keep up the trend (maybe an Ocean Master and Atlantis guard pack, since BvS is also releasing one so late?). And while on the one hand it is surprising to see a battle pack based on a dark scene (that confused non-comics readers, for that matter) from a movie that got an R-rated extended cut, because of how fervently defended the movie is by people who liked it (myself included), LEGO probably saw that there was still profit to be made from fans. Who knows, maybe we'll even get a Doomsday next year to maximize this weird, delayed profitable group?
  19. Well, that is one of the most unexpected, but pleasant, surprises in a long while. Even if it was tied in to some of Zack Snyder's cut Justice League content, it's still a year late. Won't stop me from getting it, though! The printed goggles are neat, and such detailed legs are a nice surprise. Anyone have a clue how we're getting it?
  20. Considering how most people are reacting to her visual design, I feel like this was intentional on their part. Someone in the process that would lessen negative response. I also appreciate your tiny words. That is fair. TV shows do often shoot stuff just for the first trailer (i.e. Legends of Tomorrow) and not for the rest. I feel like this is more official footage, but that could be a possibility. Ya know, if this turns out the way I think it will, I will be waaaaaay less harsh on TTG in the future. I know. Seeing Dick killing a group of thugs feels more blasphemous than every time the movies always make Batman kill. Dick Grayson is supposed to be one of the biggest hearts and best uniting hero in the DC universe; he always says that Batman took him in so he could turn out better than Batman in response to his trauma. This is way out of line. #NotMyDick Also, Hawk and Dove. Hawk would make sense with the slow-mo harsh violence, but Dove is supposed to be all about peace and pacifism when possible. Seeing her brutalize people just seems weird.
  21. Near the beginning, in the group shot that Harley starts drawing on. Behind Superwoman.
  22. Hello, everybody! I've been a member on Eurobricks for a decent while, and back when I made my account, I had several accounts all linked in to a theme: "Pepperoni ___". There was a Youtube channel "pepperonistudios," an e-mail under one or the other, a few other forums across the interwebs, and so on. Since then, I've slowly lost access or stopped using all but a couple of them; this username, my playstation account name, and my Flickr, which I did decide to change over. Most items now I make under BaneShake, which is my current (and now permanent) youtube channel. So, I just want to hear some feedback: should I change this one over to BaneShake as well? On the one hand, it is much simpler and much more ergonomic; I like the ring it has to it. On the other, though, is that this is the familiar one I've been using for years. What do you guys think?
  23. With the arrival of the first Titans trailer, I think it's time we start to discuss the show. ...and I'm not digging it so far. The violence looks like it wants to be Watchmen without understanding what Watchmen was trying to say about violence. Dick Grayson and Dove particularly seem to be out-of-character from what we get to see here; especially since the general public last saw Robin in live-action in Batman and Robin, this interpretation looks like it could very well just leave general audiences with another bad taste in their mouths towards him, which is the last thing anyone wants before the eventual Nightwing movie that's very early in development. That being said, Raven's parts seem to be the strongest points in the trailer. I'm guessing the horror aspects involving her, and Trigon's demonic influence, could actually be decent.
  24. Looks like we can add Atomica, Deathstorm, Sinestro, Black Adam, Heatwave, Two-Face, Penguin, Captain Boomerang, Clock King, and what appears to be Merlyn from characters shown. Blue Beetle's carapace, Black Manta's pack and helmet, Adam Strange's jetpack, Calendar Man's shoulder pads, Firefly's Jetpack, Condiment King's belt, Mr. Freeze's helmet, and Gentleman Ghost's... something are also show in the customizer, so they'll probably be included as playable as well. It looks like one of the locations shown is something Gorilla City related. What a fantastic information drop hidden in one trailer!
  25. Love that submarine build. Considerably better-looking than his last one.
