  1. I would like to drop my 2 cents. I have been repeated many times that "Today's kids do not play with pirates" but it's that true? I mean, did really 1989's kids play with them? Were them actually that fond of pirates? Pirates books for kids keep on being printed, and maybe it's just the country I live on, but kids are really still attracted by pirates. Plus, my admiral fact: https://www.playmobil.it/isola-del-tesoro-fortificata/6679.html This is a new set from 2019. Why if Playmobil is still selling pirates and knights, LEGO is failing after that? If they reprinted the Black Seas Barracuda now in 2019, 30 years after the first one, would it really be a bad move? Wouldn't AFOL buy it just to say "hey, that's the first ship they made, I'm grabbin' one of these". Or a new ship, better than the one they did in 2015? Do they really need all these "named character" as per Ninjago and Nexo Knights? I don't know. I trust them saying "No, pal, they don't sell" but are the children to be blamed or the poor sets they made back in 2015? Or the advertising campaign after that? Sometimes it seems to me like they do a new pirate/castle theme in a bad way so that they can say "See? It doesn't sell." And playmobil keeps on selling pirates. Why?
  2. Approving PIrate Bay for 30 years of pirates would be a good move.
  3. My guesses for the forthcoming year. January - Series 20 May - Disney 2 September - Minions
  4. Hello everybody! I come with a new game! This time it's a new format so you can enjoy it! Have you ever dreamt a CMF series the way you wanted? Now use your imagination for this simple game. What do you need to do? It's simple. Write me a PM stating two lists of 16 minifigures each. The first list should be the 16 minifigures of your wishlist. It doesn't have to be a real series, they can be all costumed, all city characters, whatever you like, but they must be PRECISE characters, not "Some kind of figure with a some kind of tool". Then, in Sep 1st, I will collect all the answers and create a 16 minifigures series with your results. Why has it be private? Because this time I don't want people to give ideas to other people. This has to be original. The second list is the real game. You should indicate the 16 minifigures you believe people would like the most. Not just you. Everybody. Then, you will get 1 point for every minifigure in other people's list. For example, if you say "an @Itaria No Shintaku sigfig" and this is on 5 lists, not including your one, you get 5 points. If that's on your list only, you get 0 points. In Sep 1st will collect all the answers and declare a winner. So in Sep 1st I will publish here two things: The supreme dream series The winners of this game. So what I have to say? Start now, send me a PM, the more we are, the funnier it gets. JUST ONE NOTE: please reply here with "PM SENT" so that I am sure when collecting data that I do not miss a single entry. Thanks, and have fun! If you have feedbacks, please state them also here.
  5. FIREFIGHTER +1 ADVENTURER/ARCHEAOLOGIST +1 GALACTIC OVERLORD (one minifgure with blacktron references) +0,5 because you got that there was a blacktron character
  6. This may be an excellent explanation. I also have seen a picture in which it's 16-16-16. What a relief.
  7. I disagree. They are giving you the chance to choose to collect 16, 17 or 18. So, if they put 2 extra on the other side of the leaflet (done just once for harry potter) they would have said 18 to collect. Not upon one's choice.
  8. Here you can find the results, may be updated if there really are two more minifigures (17 and 18) to discover: https://ibb.co/2PymHc1 As you can see, we didn't do super scores. Winner is DIGGER OF BRICKS with a score of 2,5 as he got 2 + half the bounty hunter. One curious fact is that the firefighter and the gamer (even if we thought it to be a girl) were highly predicted. Most of the others haven't been guessed by anybody. I'll update as soon as we find out what the 17 18 means.
  9. My personal thoughts until more is revealed. 1) Gamer. 4/10. Just another quite plain city minifigure with a new gamepad mold. 2) Shower/bath guy 6/10. It's nice how they come with him, but we already had the parts to do him apart from the towel. Now my question: will they ever do the female counterpart of him? 3) Vampire Knight 8/10. Once you give this idea, which is quite good, this is the best way they could do it. Thanks for the reuse of old Bat from Fright Knights! 4) Monkey King 6/10. A very interesting minifigure ruined by the use of the light flesh color. 5) Robot Programmer 4/10. Just another quite plain city minifigure. 6) Female Mummy 6/10. Why again a scorpion, and again the same usual mold? They had the chance to do an ankhed staff... The rest instead is quite good. 7) Johnny Thunder 6/10. Good realization, super lame idea. Another Johnny? 8) Firefighter 3/10. Just another quite plain city minifigure. 9) Dogsitter 4/10. Just another quite plain city minifigure with a new dog. 10) Pizza suit guy 4/10. Lame reuse of the watermelon mold (A pizza slice has a different shape), bad use of colours. No. 11) Space Bounty Hunter (or whatever) 7/10. Waiting to see what's under that mask (perhaps the eyepatched face?) that seems a quite good sci fi minifigure. At least. 12) Flamingo Lady 4/10. Just another quite plain city minifigure with a flamingo. 13) Rugby Player 6/10. Good that they did it, with a new ball mold. But that doesn't appeal me in any way. 14) Fox Costumed Lady 6/10. Costume isn't that bad and the new hen mold was really necessary IMHO. But... another costumed character? 15) Care Bear 1/10. A total waste of a minifigure slot. This one competes for the lamest minifigure ever. It's something I find it hard to think it passed a series of reviews from TLG and if I were a parent, not an AFOL, and I casually spent 4€ (what a minifigure costs in EU) and they come out with THIS one, I'd never buy CMFs again. 16) Biker 5/10. Just another quite plain city minifigure with a bike and the hope they finally fit a centaur in the new minifigure bags. Overall 5/10. A series filled with quite plain city minifigures revolving around their accessories or animals. As I have already said before, and somebody like @Robert8 said the very same thing, half of this series could have been in a minifigure pack instead of a CMF line. IMHO this series competes for being one of the worst ones. Not for the realization, they had several bad ideas but they went out with quite good minifigures (a part from the care bear). And I am VERY, VERY worried by the 16 17 18 stuff. My personal 2 cents are that there will be a minifigure with different recoloring, so if you want just one you collect 16 of them, but if you want all the different colors of that, you have to collect 18 of them.
  10. My thoughts. 9/10 on the minifigure realization once given the ideas but 3/10 on the ideas, extremely underwhelming, mainly common city characters you can expect to have in a minifigure pack. 1/10 on the 16 17 18 to collect. I suspect a Real drama.
  11. The nice thing is that the leaked head with an eyepatch isn't one of the ones we saw, unless it's hiding behind that black mask So 11 + One with a dachshund and one with a eyepatch, +3 we don't know anything about yet but hope is from @Robert8's designs coz they're superkool
  12. Some time ago I just said that leaks can help me understand and plan what to buy and what not. Actually, that's not even true as there is no difference in knowing one month earlier or 40 days earlier. I agree that the reason may be having 60 seconds of fame, but to which avail? I've had mine, and that sounds pretty useless in the end. I was able to see retailer catalogs (and still I am) months before the sets come out, but then I only had false friends, people remembering of mine only when it was the time the catalogs could be out and vanishing for the rest of it. My facebook leaking page was shot down long before I even had a considerable number of fans, and I can say in the end that they did the right thing. While I can agree that discussing about leaks (as mere speculation) is funny as we usually do not have anything real to discuss about, and many rumours are then proved fakes, there's a line I think shouldn't be crossed, like e.g. buying those minifigures. Since series 1 there's been written on the boxes "Do not put on the shelves before XX/XX" I still have many of these brown boxes with those sigils. I have no reasons to believe that this time it's an entirely different situation in which TLG allowed some special stores to sell them, and, also, there's no trace of this physical store around. I think that saying that those minifigures haven't been stolen is pretty naive or disingenuous. On the other hand, I don't see why TLG keeps the mistery over 16 minifigures that are going to be sold in just 40 days. I mean, they will have their reasons, but I frankly cannot think of something. Now, this is quite steering away from the actual discussion so I won't add and I don't want to sound hateful or something, just if there are rules, let's play within them.
  13. Nope. Series 19 is nice and I'll get dozens of that, but I'd call that a VAMPIRE KNIGHT, while this is an UNDEAD KNIGHT which is very, very different,
  14. I have to side with J4ck here. That is clearly a stolen property and you just gave that guy money for items he stole. For making a review earlier? We "love" leaks, but that hurts TLG. If you are a fan, you shouldn't do that. I personally stopped sharing leaks as soon as I understood that it was hypocritical: being a fan means that I shouldn't hurt whatever thing I'm fan of. TLG surely doesn't want me leaking, so I won't leak anymore, that said I had mixed feelings but I would really welcome a severe cease on these leaks. I'd welcome TLG to share info about their plans in a timely manner, but I'd also welcome those guys that break TLG's rules to stop it.
  15. Yes I read that too, but that may even be a rumour based on the very fact I just wrote that here. It depends on so many facts we actually can't take it into account.
