Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation

Quite rare, but possible. But you'll side with me that you are influenced by the toys of your childhood. So I may be oriented towards that feeling nostalgia for those products while @Aanchir will always have more emotional connection with, say, the ones that came up with Star Wars and Harry Potter. In my childhood I didn't even remotely think about LEGO branded themes. -

I don't understand: if you are born in 1991, you are not an old-age AFOL, you are not even 30. It's quite obvious that you won't have appeal in classic castle or classic space, that weren't the set out when you were old enough to play with LEGO (1997). -

Actually the city sets have no storyline and characters are unnamed vs Captain Brickbeard, Captain Redbeard and so on. Pirates were even given a comic book (which I have) which has some story. The re-releases were good copies of the original ones. The collectors, back then, were few and not interested. Today there's LEGO-mania all over the world. Way more than it used to be, because LEGO was able to morph into a geek subculture item. Thus, re-releasing old sets today would be an entirely different story than doing it in the early 2000's when LEGO was swimming in bad waters. On the other hand, re-releasing small sets would be a bad move. These are nostalgia items for adults. We already know that kids wouldn't want that. However I accept any apologize and apologize myself if I sounded somehow rash or rude. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I don't know but it would be a completely bad idea. The Batman Movie Series 2 was a DC collectible series and was probably one of the worst ever. -

Maybe.... because they did not sell well? Just wondering! -
Hello everybody. I started a facebook page some months ago talking about LEGO and making videos about that. It's, alas, in Italian: www.facebook.com/facebrickit/ . I managed to reach 892 likes on the page, so I'm quite happy with that. My question is: if I wanted to reach more public, should I make ANOTHER page in english? Starting again from scratch? What would happen instead if I started making also english posts? Would this annoy the resident fans? Plus, I'd like to find somebody willing to help me, is there anyone wishing to? Thanks for reading.

What additional info should I add besides "I have been told by someone who knows his job that Legends were a failure"? I also said that he reported that, if they should entirely listen to fans' request, they would re-release cafe corner and greengrocer. These are the sets most fans asked for. Not 80s ones. -

Or maybe he was just fond of the old sets and still disappointed they didn't sell. Or maybe the opposite, he thought that was a bad idea and saw his insight confirmed. Or maybe for a moment he forgot who he was Or maybe this kid just wanted to be hugged Whatever it was I know it's because... -

Your perspective is: someone at TLG instead of telling me "I don't know why they don't do LEGEND sets again" said "They won't do it again because their sales were bad" while it's quite impossible that he can recall correctly how bad/good the sales went for that. My perspective is: someone at TLG said "They won't do it again because their sales were bad" and he said that because it's true. So I understand your perspective, but I find it not reasonable. -
My point is: LEGO has done an "all monster" series then an "all costumes" series. Imho they could try and do an "all castle" series considering the lack of castle themes, I don't think their sales can do anything worse than Simpson 2. I got the whole box for $30, 0,50$ per minifig, it was really the worst selling series ever.

Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation

I give up, really. if you don't get it this time, I give up. There are around 20 themes per year. So recalling if a theme did well, or didn't, in 20 years, is like remembering 400 informations. I have been a supporter of my team for 30 years, and I assume that 400 players did surely play at least 1 season in my team. When you ask me "did player Smith well or bad in your team?" I can easily tell you. I may even recall the years he plaied in my team (with a small error) and one notable goal (or save if gk) he did (IF he did). So, if someone is working 20 years in LEGO, to me there is absolutely NOTHING strange that he know every theme how well and how bad performed. Most AFOLs can tell, why TLG employees shouldn't? I don't get the point where you fail to understand such a simple thing. -

It depends. Suppose that a theme had great expectations and failed hard (like the one we're talking about). I remember Brazil losing to Germany 1-7 at Brazil 2014 even if I'm not fan of either team. -

KimT is the AFOL engagement manager and works in TLG since I can remember. So, when he says that the Legends sets did not perform well, I feel like trusting him. And I actually feel more like trusting him than trusting someone on a forum who tells me I shouldn't. -

I find this provoking really of little to no help. I have never stated that I can say how well the various themes were received locally. I can say that if you have tons of given sets on the shelves and you can get them nearly for free for how the discount is, that theme didn't sell well. And through the global market you can see which themes didn't perform well all around the world. I can say, for example, that Nexo Knights were priced 75% off in Indonesia, or I can say that TLG gave Lone Ranger sets for free in given circumstances, or I can say again that The Angry Birds Movie sets were on any european amazon at 50% their original price, if not worse. I am not a member of TLG, so I cannot give an answer for Time Cruisers, but considering the number of sets compared to the actual number of sets they did for other themes in those years + the years they run that theme compared to years they run another theme, and so on, I can say that Time Cruisers wasn't a big bang theme. When they will hire me in TLG I'll have more room to answer your questions. Now, I have stated several different reasons for which a member of TLG can remember a big flop. On the other hand I fail to see your reasons for which a member of TLG couldn't. Apart from your personal beliefs, which sorry but are not a reason. -

I politely strongly disagree. I have been in LEGO since years and I can remember quite well the themes that didn't perform (like late Chima, late Nexo Knights, Bionicle 2, Hero Factory, Alien Conquest, Galaxy Squad, Pirates 2015, Castle 2013, Angry Birds Movie, Prince of Persia, Lone Ranger and more) contrasted with theme that performed well (Technic, Ninjago, Friends, Duplo, City, Star Wars, Minecraft and more). I figure out if I can do it, and I am not a TLG member, what an actual member can say. -

It's quite simple to say if a theme was a failure or not. It's like remembering the biggest flops of your supported sport team. I remember all the best and worst matches of my team perfectly, even the ones that took place 20 years ago. -

It was in Skaerbaek Fan Weekend, if I recall correctly it was 2018, but I may be wrong with 2017. I've been there 7 times already so sometimes I make confusion about when I did what. -

Yes that includes also the Barracuda's re-release. And I can say that because when speaking with a designer, asking him about other topics they were like "no" and about an imperial flagship they were like "who knows". -
This is why LEGO is beautiful. We have so many different opinions. To me, at least 6 or 7 in this series are totally useless minifigures FOR a CMF line. Video game guy, shower guy, robot programmer, firefighter, dog walker, flamingo lady, biker girl are just plain city minifigures with new accessories, they could come from a city pack (like fun at the beach, fun at the park and so on) and nobody would have found it strange. In my opinion CMF line is for minifigures that do not fit other themes. So, there is no castle and no space, hence the minifigures that @CMFanatic placed in the last spot are among the most legitimate to be in a CMF series, IMHO. Actually, the funny thing is this one: CMFanatic placed SHOWERING GUY at the first place while the only interesting thing in the whole minifigure is the towel. We already had that headgear. We already had a bare torso and bare legs. We already had a rubber duck (in yellow) and a brush. So, the one you're liking the most is something that you could already build for yourself. The second one you like is the Pizza Suit Guy. Which IMHO is the worst realized in the series. I mean, given the concept, they could really do way much metter. Why? 1) A pizza slice has not the shape. They wanted to use again the watermelon mold, which was expected, but since when a watermelon slice and a pizza slice have the same shape? 2) Colours are totally wrong. 3) What you american guys keep on calling wrong "Pepperoni" (which is salami, to be correct, pepperoni actually are red peppers, which has nothing to do with salami) should be embossed, like the corn on the corn cob suit gay. But of course the lame choice of the watermelon mold can't lead otherwise. Honestly, that pizza suit guy feels horribly wrong. I was hoping for a pizza suit guy, but that one is just lame. Well, world is nice because we all have different opinions.

Speaking recently with KimT, he said that they were a total flop. The most asked set for a re-release actually is the Greengrocer (they did a survey) but they have no plans for it. On the other hand a new take on the Imperial Flagship isn't a fantasy too far.
