I am not sure I understand either. But either way, you shouldn't go back at all. The 2L liftarm (one axle hole and one pin) is easy enough to add or take away. It indeed should be on both sides as it serves a function. Keeping the LA that holds the shock absorbers at a 90 degree angle with the parallel 5L black liftarms

Yes, I understand this much. Sorry, I should have been more specific. Summer is right around the corner and we don't have official releases of photos, details, etc. That which we do have has just been culled/released and hypothesized by AFOLs. Usually by 4 MAY or 1 JUN we have official details or photos. Any word when those will be released?

I am sure this has been dealt with - but this is the problem with threads that are 79 pages long and literally hundreds of comments: But shouldn't we be getting some updates soon in terms of the summer sets? Pictures, releases? 4th of May there usually is something big released. Any news? Summer is right around the corner

Fake Lego toymaker taken down in China
nerdsforprez replied to doug72's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Website is still up but no one can make an order -
I have tried to point this out to others like a billion times. It does not stick. I think I even made a post on it years ago. Weight in box (although that certainly comes with error as well, manual, etc) has a much stronger relationship with price than does number of pieces in the set. I ran an analysis on it years ago with like 200 sets, spanning like a decade worth of Lego, so the data is pretty robust. Still, folks don't really want to listen. Also, the relationship is not linear. The larger the set, the more redundancy there is in it. On average, the larger the set the lower the PPP (or in my case, price per gram) (again, not linear). in the analyses I did years ago, it recommended groups set in approx. 0-1000, 1001-2500, then 2501 and up should be compared against eachother for PPP (or PPG - price per gram). Compared these groups against eachother was like comparing apples to oranges. Sorry - I did not see this until now. You are correct. I have posted on this before. The relationship between Price Per Gram is quite a bit stronger than PPP.

Sorry - this is my bad. I need to pull back a little. What I should of started with was a big "welcome to the forum!" Sometimes us old guys get tired of old redundant posts but like Erik said the search engine is rather lousy for this site and you have found some great comments by others so it seems that the topic (again) has found a landing spot. To the topic at hand, honestly, I have not really found a Lego set that is really that hard to build. And that is not some manifestation of some great skill, because, honestly - I have none I just don't really think that Lego products really are made for that. In fact, I think they are more and more being geared towards making the build easy. Less steps per page, more color vomit for L/R distinction, etc. are now becoming the norm. Looks like people are commenting on the Bugatti. I'll give another take: I think the Bugatti has more color vomit for L/R distinction than any other set I have seen in the past (have not gotten to 42082 though). Also, really it is one of the few that involves an axle in a pinhole instead of a pin in a pinhole in several areas of the build to aide in ease of the build at the sacrifice of strength (think of the marriage process - but there are several other places as well). So while others might think that it is a difficult build I think TLG really went out of their way to at least make it is easy as possible. I will say I did think the hoses in 42043 were a real pain in the rear. Perhaps that was the hardest set to assemble for that reason.....

Then that needs to be specified in the title. We cant read your mind, demonstrated virtually every post containing sets not in the 2019 lineup. Due to redundancy, perhaps this should be merged or locked.

Technic General Discussion

I think so as well. Im surprised! -
Oh I seriously hope not. I am not a fan of color vomit but I have learned to lived with reds, yellows, greens, etc. But if sets are made with pastel, Easter colors - wow I dunno. I seriously might look at other hobbies. I know it is still a kids toy but the more clown colors are added the more it makes it seems like a kids toy. No matter how expensive or complicated the builds get.

Yup. I agree with this. I made this comment either earlier in this thread or on the actual 42096 thread. Too many pieces for the bags to not be numbered. Either way, I wished I liked this set. But I do not. I received it as a gift - I did not buy it. Oh well, I guess it will make a good parts pack. I did the same thing for this set as I did for 42083. A cut-away. Not because there is anything interesting, but to show how vacuous this set it. And you will notice, this is WITH both a Buwizz (behind front tires), M motor for steering, and a L motor (lower-left of fake engine), for drive in it and it is still this empty. In fact, a study of the chassis reveals one, only ONE, 11.5 double bent liftarm in the center that is providing any real angles for structural integrity. Everything else is horizontal building with 90 degree angles. In fact, I remember 8070 getting a lot of flak - and to be honest, I loved the way 8070 looked. I thought it looked every bit as good as this set. Not a Porsche, I get it, but it looked great for like a Corvette-type of look. AND..... it had several functions. So honestly, I don't really understand this set at all. But that is just my opinion.

Agreed. Just look at the price as well. Though it is steep, the real build out of genuine LEGO bricks would be much more. Not to mention the man-hours on BL, or order through other avenues, for all the pieces.

8285 improved but heretic

I think it looks great! And kudos for doing it for the fun and to learn and get experience with 3D printing. -
Bugatti Chiron issues
nerdsforprez replied to hippyman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You will have to be a bit more specific. What exactly is not working? Pictures will also help. -
Thanks all for the clarification. I don't pay attention much to non-technic genres. What everyone mentioned makes a lot of sense. Likely not an indication of what is to come. Which, IMO, is a good thing. The two UCS hyper-cars models we have received thus far have not been smashing successes, at least not by the standards of most on this site.
