  1. Agreed. They can pass as "OT" Stormies and this is all that matters to me, as long as there is a reliable and cheap way of getting them.
  2. Great to meet you, Klint! Can't wait to see you on the discussion boards! Good luck collecting, too!
  3. Amazing MOC, atkaforce. This really captures Art-Deco as a whole and would look good in any City or Town layout! I especially love all the details-sidewalk, gas pump lights, air pumps, and flowers! The only (minor) criticism I have is that the roof is a bit bare-maybe adding something would make it (even) more interesting! Keep up the good work
  4. Superb MOC, RemtonDulyak! It really captures the look of a traditional Japanese bridge! I especially like the cat on the roof It'd be awesome if you could make this into real bricks, and if so, I can't wait to see it!
  5. Amazing MOD, JWG3000! I own this set, and like many fellow EBers I'm happy about the tan pieces, but then again, it isn't like the real thing. You've made a very simple change that improves this set drastically! Can't wait to MOD mine too!
  6. Hi all, I'll be attending my first LEGO convention! BrickFair VA! (Not sure if there's a thread on this, I'm new) Has anyone attended? If so, what should I expect?
  7. I'll only attend on the 2nd. Sadly. Have you ever been? What should I expect?
  8. Sadly, TLG is probably going to release SW Rebels battlepacks instead of OT Stormtrooper battlepacks. They stop making custom molds and prints about two years after the first usage, if it isn't continued, and the Endor battlepack is already 2 1/2 years old (yes, I know the Ewok Village has two, but that's not the best way to get them ). Because they already have a new mold-in The Ghost and the ISD, it would make more sense just to reuse and recycle what they already have. Plus, the audience for a childrens' cartoon show is most likely going to be children-they, as I said earlier, don't dress up like them and know everything about them (but plenty of adults do , so, probably, TLG thinks that it won't really matter, so they might as well get some detailing in. Remember, the same debate happened when The Clone Wars was about to air. I'm hopeful that TLG won't mess the Stormies up, and that, in some time, we'll all start to like and collect them...
  9. Amazing MOC! As others said, excellent color choice, idea, and build in general. Wish you luck in the Brickset competition!
  10. Yeah, that happens all of the time in the US of A. My worst nightmare is I pack a MISB UCS Falcon, worth $3500+, and it gets opened and damaged by the Feds! :cry_sad:
  11. This is the first actual thread I'm posting on! Yay! Anyways, I really hope that there will be a good way to get stormtoopers in the new battlepack. While I don't want an army, I would like 4-5 for pictures and other random reasons. However, my one requirement is that they're uniform-a variety won't look great considering that most soldiers (snow, sand, scout) in the Imperial army are, for the most part, identical. And, when comparing the 2008 stormtrooper (1st Pic) and the new-ish 2012 one (2nd Pic), I've made up my mind that the latter is the one I prefer-the armor is just so much better, but they cost $9+ on eBay! (Credit-BrickBlogger). This is where the speculation kicks in. In January (March in the USA), after two waves of 2 versus 2 battlepacks (Clones VS Droidekas, Endor Troops VS Scout/Stormtroopers, etc) we got a 4 generic figure battlepack-Kashyyyk troopers. This tells us that LEGO (TLG) is listening to AFOLs and kids alike; both wanted camo clones. However, TLG is a toy company, and while AFOLs do account for a fair amount of revenue, kids (other than for UCS sets) are the target audience. And, because most kids don't have nostalgic feelings about the Original Trilogy, and most like the PT (Prequel Trilogy) more, I can assume that they chose the Kashyyyk battlepack because it's what kids would've liked most (also, when this set was designed-presumably 2012, TLG thought that SWIII was going to be re-released in 3D). Now, with SW Rebels coming this fall, airing on Cartoon Network, there's going to be a huge sure in demand for both Stormtroopers and Rebel Troopers-like the interest increase in 2008 after The Clone Wars. TLG promptly released a Clone Trooper battlepack and an Assasin Droid battlepack, which were both extremely popular and sold very well. So, chances are, TLG is going to follow their former buisness plan and release both Rebel and Storm-Snow-Sand BPs...
  12. Hello Eurobricks! Like everyone else in this sub-forum, I'll start by introducing myself: I'm AwesomeBantha from, well, Tatooine (no, I won't disclose my real location ), and I've been MOC-ing and photographing for about a year, and collecting since I was 11! Since then I've been active on Instagram, and plan on expanding to YouTube and Flickr by the end of the year. If you're on IG, be sure to reply so that I can like and follow you! In the future, I plan on building huge MOCs-mostly Star Wars-and creating custom-printed minifigures (again, Star Wars. Did I mention that it's my favorite theme )! I'd also love to enter SoNE (Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka), some contests, and even post some reviews. Additionally, I'll be attending Brickfair VA this August (the 2nd), so if anyone knows what it's like and what to expect, I'd really appreciate getting a reply ! What about you? Even though I've been following this forum since January, Eurobricks has 38,000+ members so chances are, I (sadly) don't know you.. Looking forward to engaging/collaborating/meeting you soon, AwesomeBantha
