"LEGO Ruins Creativity"... Again
GallardoLU replied to PicnicBasketSam's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There was a time not that long ago that even licensed sets had alternate models. usually weird and far from anything in the licensed material but alternate builds all the same. (look at early star wars sets) sure Creator and non-licensed technic have alt models, but very little else still does. but even more than that what got me MOCing and playing with turn down sets was images of other's who had already done that. the idea that my little pirate cave could become a moon base, or the normal car simply powered up with a "Big Engine." heck even seeing sets I didn't have and trying to replicate them with what I did have did more than a blind pile of bricks ever did. -
He is still alive and kicking, and actually still has roles coming in!

nice redesign on the rear, one thing that I feel the muscle care style needs is a 6wide cabin. just looks too narrow compared to the shape of most cars of that era. still instantly recognizable. (and as has been said many times we need a 5w windshield!) thanks again for sharing these models

Rainbow Bright's summer camp (is exactly not that movie )

that's an awful wide window for the small category

Very Nice, I know little of farm equipment but I do know accuracy, and you did a great job making your tractor to look like the original. as for things to use with it... how about a bucket, or backhoe attachments. that platform is versatile according to a friend of mine. did you just make a crappy fan joke?

Android Game I've Developed - Feedback Appreciated

been playing this all weekend and the timed option is a great addition. Forresto's comment on losing the piece I some what agree with. even a simple "X" on that spot when you loose it would do for me. that said the only thing I actually would like changed is the high scores table. is there a way to indicate or separate it based on modes active on each try? I can easily see timed mode high scores falling off entirely to normal mode scores. though to me a ~500point timed is a whole lot more difficult than a ~1000point normal. other than that great job! I'll be sure to spread the app to friends :) -

Question: What term do we all call ourselves?
GallardoLU replied to Paul B Technic's topic in Community
Collector: a person who collects things of a specified type, professionally or as a hobby Collect: 1: to get things from different places and bring them together 2: to get one or more things from a place 3: to get similar things and bring them together as a hobby Collection: an accumulation of objects gathered for study, comparison, or exhibition or as a hobby if any of those apply to you then you are a collector in the simplest of terms. and the larger your quantity of things or perhaps the value of the things the more secure you are as a collector. example: I have a large number of star wars sets (just short of 100 unique) so I'm definitely a collector of those sets. but it's nowhere near complete. simultaneously I have completed a collection of Lego Slave I sets (all scales) but that's only a part of my incomplete Fett sets collection.. you can see where this is going. -

[MOC] The Golden Age of Chicken Aviation 8
GallardoLU replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Special LEGO Themes
hmm, there is a logical flaw with this build. wouldn't the constant updrafts and heated air prevent the HOT AIR BALLOON from ever landing there in the first place? but in all seriousness this is a great little build, as others have said the lava is looks terrific and so does the balloon. I do wonder will the chickens recover from this tragic loss?- 11 replies

nice, looks like it could easily be adapted into the type 181 AKA *Thing* one of my favorite quirky cars

there was the toys-r-us star wars brick. got a handful of those (days later they still had plenty)

Hmm, your image is named "ZGMF-X10A" (which is also shown in your post) but even without that it is clearly a Gundam though I wouldn't have known which one on my own. from what I can see it is looking quite impressive. can't wait to see more of it.

on the odd side of things (definitely not bad) ordered 10197 Fire Brigade, and in the box was a bag for set 8960 thunder driller. which was replacing a bag I needed to build the set. Customer service was good about getting me the right parts for 10197, and didn't care about the other bag (which had about 150 parts in it)

yes but Rey is still young (early 20s I think) in TFA, which is aprox 40 years after ANH. that means whom ever her parents are have to have survived 20ish years of rebellion after R1. even if they introduce her parents in the movie there will be no indication of them being her parents until at least EPVIII.

ha, yes that's the Bowlingian rhapsody scene right there (clearly you know the right film so its your go)

sorry for delay, but here ya go, (shouldn't be too hard)

Cleigg did a good job raising Owen. And Owen and Beru were able to control Luke right up to their deaths. also Jango, though a criminal did a rather good job raising Boba until his death. so that's 4 characters across 7 films..... ok your statement rings true

i'm sure you are right that is Cary Elwes. but it most deffinitly isn't Princess Bride. I've not seen the movie but it looks like it could be Glory (time period looks right)

which is which is why I moved to posting them renamed to my flickr account, instead of links to other sites. that way no matter what there is no info except what is in the image to go on.

Looks good, much better with the SC hubs on it as well. the only thing I personally am not a fan of is the gap below the windshield on the sides. the 1 plate hole feels unfinished, I don't really have a suggestion on how to over come it as the side body line looks good, just wish there were something closing the gaps.
